17:40 is the perfect showcase of what I love in C4D: Just going for it and getting lost. There's so much stuff I made this way that I ended up scrapping because it just wasn't anything I'd be proud of but it's just so much fun to mess around with.

1:35:35 holy smokes that grip simulation looks like an awesome start
Although I miss a "true" killer feature viable for the majority of users being introduce in this version. Yes the advanced symmetry tools speed up modelling and yes the added simulation features look awesome but both topics seem super niche at least to me. Am I missing something?
EDIT: Procedural Vertex maps are a great update, whilst the addition of OpencolorIO and ACES seems more like a necessity.

Would be cool to have the soft body poles to act as splines so when objects are interconnected by poles you could actually turn them into visible threads/ropes in your render. Great overview, thanks, Chris!

At 8:26 how does the tool know that what you want to clone are the changes you made in that one corner, as opposed to cloning one of the other corners that you haven't touched? Is it as simple as "use the modifications on the positive side of the cloning plane"? Or does it actually keep track of your most recent modifications? If so, how does this behave if you modify every corner just a bit? How would these changes merge?

After seeing all the new features and as I was 3D max, Modo, XSI, Maya, and Cinema 4D user before, to be honest, there is nothing that is attractive enough to use Cinema 4D, blender can do all in a blink and more creative way and it's FREE, Blender can do something no other 3D Software can, Blender has a workflow and pipeline once you know it and you master it, you can create anything with it without jumping to any other 3D tool, the speed and the freedom of creativity with blender I have never seen in it in any 3D software before.
Blender Modeling, Sculpting, Texturing, Rigging, Animation, VFX, compositing 3D, 2D animation, and rendering still until now there is no other tool that can make all that.
For everyone who is reading this, this is an advice, Cinema 4D is very good tool for motion graphics, but Blender can do all that with a speed you can't imagine.
If you are an artist and want the freedom of creativities' once you touch blender only once then you will be transported to another dimension where your mind and soul will join into one.
    All the Best

Might switch from 3ds Max, but the modelling tools have me stuck, that modifier stack is so good, but I need to realize that nowadays all software can model anything, modifier stack or not, but not all software can do great simulation, and Cinema4D is getting up there with it’s NATIVE(not even plugin!) tools. Really want to switch..

I always wonder how the symmetry sculpt can be nondestructive via displacement mapping based on depth b&w painting and then mirror that to x, -x & z, -z. Then, later bake it to the plane.
I remember doing something like it in Blender 3D

When Cinema 4D 2023 uses the Redshift renderer to create a redshift shader, the shader color is obviously different from that of R25 and R26 shaders. Converting to the Redshift renderer only does not change any control parameters. If you press Shift+V to convert the scene to OCIO, Cinema 4D unexpectedly changes the adjusted material parameters without permission. It's sad. I don't know whether Redshift has a problem or Cinema 4D 2023 is an immature version.
