    Thank you so much, I've gotten a job as a ground's keeper and never had to fix equipment before, the trimmer wasn't going well and all I has to do was replace that gauze and I'm good again.
    thank you again

    just purchased a 94r and used it today. great trimmer lots of power over my 2010 70r. balanced well and lighter. shaft is a bit longer which helps if you're a tall man. thanks for the video and helping me choose the trimmer I needed

    I purchased one last week and I love it, plenty of power and it cuts through tall thick weeds with ease

    Thanks for the great video. I just bought an FS94 last summer. It's been a nice lightweight trimmer but I have had some issues with it:
    1. The gearhead was only filled up 1/2 way with grease from the factory. There was a lot of vibration in the trimmer. When I filled up the gearhead with grease all the way up, some of the vibrations went away but you can still feel vibrations up the shaft.
    2. Within the first 10 hours, the muffler exhaust screen was clogged to the point where the unit would not run. Dealer blamed the fuel mix but I always use 94 Octane gas with Stihl Ultra synthetic 2 stroke oil. It works fine in all of my other equipment including an SH86 and Br880x.
    3. Hard starting, especially as the temperature dropped.
    Are there any remedies for these issues? The dealer wanted me to go with an FS91r but I stayed with the 94r due to lower weight. I hope I didn't make the wrong choice.

      I bought a 94r last summer. I grown to really like it. All the STIHLs have there issues. I don’t think I’ve run one unit ever without it having a flaw or some type of issue or should I say querk about it. Only reason I got the 94 was cause my 100rx throttle and acceleration was getting screwy. I new it wasn’t the cable, air or fuel filter or anything like that. Valves were fine cause it still had good power and easy crank over even though I needed to hold down the throttle trigger to start it. It was 6 yrs and instead of replacing the oem carb for the second time first time was within a year and covered under warranty. I sold/ traded it in towards a 94. Kinda good I didn’t wait till this year. I got 100 bucks for it so it only costed me around 280 with the tax. Think they were 350 for the first few years of them being around. 359 over a year ago. They are around 400 new. now. Mine does have a slight vibration too to it. It’s not that bad I think that’s because it got the steel flex cable drive shaft on it. The one I have at my work has it too. No big deal I think. I like it cause it light as hell, balanced and feels comfortable to use and it has overall power good power especially if your doing weekly or bi weekly trimming. This is not a brush cutter or for over grown tall thick ass grass and weeds. It will bog down a ton if u try going through all that. But, as a trimmer which is what I need it for it it’s great. If u think the vibration is a big problem or it’s doing it excessively take it in to dealer and tell them about it. There might be an issue and see if they can either fix or replace the unit. I have heard of people getting lemons once in awhile. Stihl don’t have too many options in trimmers that are light, powerful, commercial grade and that is a regular 2 stroke engine setup instead of 4mix. I also run a bg 86 regularly and it still start sand runs well that’s going on it 6th or 7th season. They went up to 300 too now.

      @@jefffaust89 Thanks for your feedback. I agree with your comments. The 94 has the potential to be a really good weekly trimmer. Just wish Stihl would fix some of the issues we've noted. I sold my 94 this spring and bought a Shindaiwa T262 (same as the Echo SRM2620). It's been great so far. A bit heavier than the 94 and not as fuel efficient but definitely more powerful. I like Stihl's blowers and chainsaws but their trimmers need work.

    I need a that durocut trimmer head. I have something like it that I used with older trimmers. It's quick and the string I use for it is thicker and stronger than the string I use for my bump head on my stihl now. You just slide pieces of string in for sides, the same way and go. I'm going to find out if it fits my stihl tommorow. If it doesn't then i'll go to a stihl dealer here in town and get the durocut.

    I'm torn between the 94 or 91
    We currently run the KM111 and considering a backup for it.
    We run an Echo SRM-225.....it does fine for light work but it looks weird on the rack with a Stihl lol(all our equipment is Stihl) and we're looking to replace it. We even considered another 111

      @@Carlsmower besides split shaft, where does the 111RX differ from the KM111?
      Both are 111's, right? Would it make sense that if I'm going to go with another 111, mightaswell go with a second KM111?? Or am i missing something? Maybe I'm not understanding.

      My deal sold me a 94 because of the weight to power ratio. You can feel how unbalanced the 91 is. Ironically, Stijl does not suggest that you can use the brush cutter bladed on the 94, but you can run that brushcutter blade on the 91. My dealer sold me a 91, and he installed the brush blade for me anyway. If you the the wrong blade, your warranty maybe voided. I asked him if he would honor my though, he promised that he would. It depends on the dealer. I have been cutting privet up to 1.5 inches.

      @@ryanshepherd6457 the RX mean loop handle lightweight version basically. The 111r is a solid shaft 31cc 4mix engine. The 111rx is a hollow shaft 31cc 4 mix. So the only difference really is hollow shaft vs solid shaft and they use a different style 2 screw style gearbox for the RX I guess to bring weight down, but the 1/2 lb weight difference between the two is in the shafts. I think all the KM trimmers are solid shaft. Which brings me to a another question the 56r and 94r are to be flex cable shaft driven . So do the KM versions have solid shaft. I thought about when I upgrade to new trimmer about getting a 94 but would like a solid shaft on it.

    I’ve been looking for an OEM Autocut 25-2 Cap only. Purchased a china made hunk of shite which was the wrong one and even if it fit, the tangs are so stiff, I doubt that it would bend enough to slide in. The Stihl home page didn’t have them. Any suggestions?

    What’s crazy is some of the 94r have primer on top

    • @joeraptor1
      @joeraptor1 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the older ones that were made from 2014-2017 or so had the primer on top. Those models had issues with the carb. Stihl changed the carb sometime around 2018 or 2019. That's when the primer went on the front. Since the switch, the carb issues seem to be solved and the machine seems stronger than the original versions.

    Why do you recommend the Stihl Ultra oil when pretty much ever single small engine repair YT channel says its the dirtiest most carbon build up oil there is? Since switching to it I keep having to replace or burn my exhaust arrestor filter. I am now switching to Echo red armor JASO FD oil.

    Hey Josh ... at 6:35 in this video you said " this is not a trimmer we can run a blade on" due to the cable runner from the head to toe. I wish to buy a gas powered trimmer with power to run blades ... so .. which Stihl would you recommend ... I saw the FS 240 which has much more power for blade use but the cost has gone up considerably ... your suggestion ... just maintenance clearing walk and bike trails on my land (and some time new pathways) ... and need to cut small trees without having to break out the MS 250. Thanks

    • @Carlsmower
      @Carlsmower  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you want to run a blade you would start with an FS 91R or 111 R or 131 R unless you want to go with a bike handle version or a Kombi version.
