Thank you TH-cam. My husband passed away and I am having to learn to do all the things that he used to do. Its been a real challenge but wow what a help you have been. Thats what I think it is....a spool :)
I do not recommend doing that while the trimmer is hot. If you must change the line while the trimmer's hot, take the head OFF the shaft; leave trimmer in its normal right side up position.
I've just bought one of these, after the thread on my original head gave up after around 20 years' use. In the UK, we call them strimmers or brushcutters. Anyway, my 'manual' (one of those awful diagrammatic things with SIXTEEN pictures, but no words) says that I can load my trimmer/strimmer/brushcutter with 8metres, or, for our USA readers (still in the dark ages), 26 feet. Seems a huge amount, but is it correct? Thanks for an incredibly detailed and informative video!
My stihl fs 240 does not have the arrow to point in the direction to wrap the cord in. Also the holes are quite shallow. There is not much depth to hook the cord in
Please help, please help I have a brush cutter, the speed increases very high (this is the speed I want) when the fuel is about of empty (5mins before the fuel gets empty). So I'm wondering what makes the motor run at high speed when the fuel is about to empty. The choke is down (fully open when operation)
This has got to be the most painfully slow instructional video I have ever watched. It's brutal. Why does buddy talk like he's handing out military orders. God damn.
Worse design ever. Can't go more than 20 feet before one or both lines suck back in. Spend more time fixing it than I do using it. Why not made a easy load like RYOBI does?

Thank you very much for the professional and comprehensive video. My owners manual for the FS 56-RC lacked this information.
Although I do not have a Stihl, this was helpful. Thanks! On a side note, I'd have that big mole on your right hand looked at, it could be melanoma.
Good tutorial video.👍
Awesome! Thank you.
The manual is painfully silent on this. Thanks for the video.
thank you very much for sharing this. Great help
It's quicker just to feed it through middle of frame in the spool
Great info will be so helpful
