Which model is your favorite and did you buy yours in the stores or on the secondary market?

I bought Mars, Neptune and Mercury from AliEx for around $25USD each. Mars and Neptune are very good. Mercury, they got the black and gray mixed up. Then I found a genuine Jupiter in NYC at retail. To be completely honest. The genuine Swatch is no better than the Chinese copies. If the Chinese would have gotten the shades of black and gray correct on Mercury. I'd say save the money.

The real objective here was to increase awareness of both brands and to develop interest in actual watches as opposed to electronic gadgets worn on wrist. They sold as many as they are prepared to make and sales of real Omega Speedy Pro/Moonwatches has increased 50% since the colab release. Job done.

It was also published in several newspapers. Not hard to find this. Yes, marketing genius -- Omega Speedmaster sales went up significantly because of this.
To be honest, when I just got into watches, I wanted a Speedmaster only coz of a mainstream hype. But when I really thought of it, I realized it's not a watch for me. I realized that I don't like chronographs in general. This revelation saved me some money I guess. Tho I'm glad there are Speedmaster fans, and its history is unbeatable.
Exactly my situation. Love the Speedmaster, but don't want one.

I was 100% sure I was going to buy at least one, heck I couldn't even decide which one to buy I liked a lot of them. Thank you Swatch for absolutely fumbling the bag and losing out on MILLIONS of dollars by not making the watches available soon. Definitely not gonna pay 250 for a plastic watch now that I've come to my senses.

Which means that I have to go pay some asshole double the price to get it. No thanks. If this was an attempt to make their brick and mortar stores relevant, build more of them.

I'm in the US and bought the Mission to Earth model a couple weeks after launch on Stock X and paid couple hundred over retail shipped from Paris. I love it and wear it all the time. I get more comments than any other watch I own.

I think this was a brilliant idea and more collaboration should be done. It brings a bit of fun back into the watch industry.
I've always been a huge fan of the Pluto and I think it's a great thing for the watch community that these watches happened.it gives people who can't afford a speed master like me the chance to appreciate an amazing company like omega even if it is through a company like swatch which has its own roots to be respected anyway.
People need to understand -- an actual Omega Speedmaster will never have plastic on them.
If Swatch is in the name, having an Omega next to it would mean it's only jacking up the price of a SWATCH watch, not an actual Omega.
Thanks for raising awareness, so many more kids won't fall for the trap in thinking they're getting an Omega for this type of price.
There's a reason why Omega is still a desirable brand next to Pateks and Rolexes.
And sadly this is just not a Speedmaster many think it is.
I really like the color combination of the Mission to Pluto. This strap, on any of the variations, is not for me, though! You’re not the first to say it feels like cardboard! Ha! If these were readily available online I would own one by now. I don’t live near a Swatch store and don’t have a desire to make the trek to one. As each day passes that these are not available online, directly from Swatch, my desire to own fades more and more.
i got swept up in the craze and bought an actual speedy! I love it, although, I've found the crown hard to wind and it hurts my fingers to wind it up all the way.
you should wind it by pressing your thumb against the top glass and using the side of your index finger on the back side, move your index finger down you are pointing to the ground repeatedly
Actual speedys are really expensive....

The moonswatch was the push I needed; It ended my doubts about buying a PD 1701... I immediately bought 2: Alaska and the classic (black dial and white hands and indexes).

There is no doubt that these watches are hyped, and I wouldn’t personally pay a premium to own one. I got lucky about 2 months ago when i was in Vegas and walked into the Swatch store to find out they had few model available. I was interested in Mercury and Moon but they only had Mars, Sun and venus available. So i picked up the mission to Mars. I think its a nice summer watch for the price, especially on a rubber strap. Super light and cool colors. A guy offered me $800 for it a day later and I had to talk him out of buying the watch bc thats how much i liked it. So if you are comparing these watches to $300 Seikos, Citizens, micros etc. probably will be a letdown in terms of build quality bc these are fun watches not tool pieces ment to last forever and take a beating. Probably a keeper for me.

I bought the Earth version at the Las Vegas store back in July. It’s not the best watch I own by any means, but it looks cool and I get lots of compliments.
Whether or not its worth of value its personal preference. I have Seiko Automatic which is obviously miles better but then again how many watches out there looks exactly like Omega Speedmasters? None.
the only omega I'd have is the Snoopy. I've never wanted a Swatch. so these are of no interest to me to buy although the Saturn looks good, the red one looks really cheap and nasty IMHO
Red one is funky and unique.
I quickly gave up and bought a solar Seiko chronograph for £180. A great fun beater I use for sports. I'm so over the moonswatch now I realise it's a plastic toy.

@@jozelavric4259 I was caught up with the hype but none became available and I saw the mess of how it was released so quickly lost interest. I then treated myself to a Seiko SSC771P1. Sapphire crystal, Stainless Steel, PCD coated bezel Solar, and if course it's a chronograph. The only thing the moonswatch has over it is it's in-fashion design but that will get old quick. So no, I'm not expecting an Omega but for the price I did way better going with a Seiko than a battery operated, plastic case, plastic glass, Swatch.

All electronic items has some sort of battery/capacitor to hold a charge it's just that my solar charged watch never needs that part of the circuitry changed. Is that what you are referring to or are you being more clever than that as you must be the 1st person to ever describe a solar powered watch as running on a battery.

Just got the Jupiter model for my birthday today, I've only ever had Casios and G-Shocks so this is new to me
I wanted one when first announced. Since I don't live near a store that sells them, I thought I'll buy on online.

Nice commentary SWG. I was lucky to get a Mission to the Moon from a friend of mine in San Francisco. They had to call the shop almost everyday for any new deliveries. Hope to get next time around maybe a Mercury, Earth or Pluto. Stay well SWG.

I think some people are taking it too seriously and are disappointed. Please remember this watch is a Swatch, not an Omega. Yes, it is sorta a toy, albeit an iconic one. It was meant to introduce young aspiring watch collectors (who would otherwise be wearing an Apple watch) to the Speedmaster Professional. They've successfully sparked an interest in the Moonwatch again. Most people who likes this watch will eventually shoot for a higher goal...an actual Omega Moonwatch. For the collectors who think this Swatch will devalue your Omega, you guys are idiots. If anything, it will make your Speedmaster look better than ever, cuz people now recognize what you got on your wrist is the real deal!

If only omega would launch this in ceramic complete with the colors of the moonswatch launched with 3861 and rotating planet in the caseback. Price it on 10k each and people would pay for it. Then there's the collectors box for the ONLYWATCH 2023, people would get crazy for it.

Hey Marco, I scored a Mission to Uranus at GVA airport on my way home from Geneva Watch Days. It's for my wife's birthday, in a couple weeks. Curious to see how long it lasts, and how they stand behind the warranty. Nice to see you last week!
I liked the release. I wanted to buy two or three. One for me, one for my daughter and one for potentially another kid in the future. I didn't like it enough to pay over retail, heck, I didn't like it enough to even go to the store for it, I'd only buy it online. So for me, the launch was botched but when you look at the hype I guess it worked for them but I do wonder how many others like me decided not to go for it after the mixed messaging.
I want to add, I've owned both a speedmaster professional and a speedmaster reverse panda automatic. Ultimately I parted with both and have no regrets.
Let me quickly summarize it:
It's an "everyday wearable" version of a widely known watch which basically has a quartz movement, made of plastic, and with a velcro strap, and plastic "crystal" for 260 bucks, that you can't really get for 260 bucks.
The problem is that if you wear this watch for "everyday" use, it'll most likely end up in a condition that you would not want, essentially making it useless.
Late on this but screen protectors exist you know 😂
I love Mission to Saturn watch. The Earth-tones & Rings. It’s trendy & wearable. However, I think I’d just put it away under glass.
Congratjlation, i fully share your opinion. It´s a good watch, makes happy and stimulates to buy the original sppedmaster. Sooner or later we can buy all the versions easily and hopefully in the suitcase where all versions find its place as exhibited in the SWATCH stores. 👍👍👍
I think it is a great marketing ploy by Swatch and it definitely worked to get a lot of publicity to both Omega and Swatch. But at what cost did this stunt come with in the case of Omega, only time will tell. Thanks Marko :D

Wanted one, but now I've had time to think about it there's no way I'm going to the awful city of London to get one. Stupid idea making it shops only, just helps the flippers and makes it virtually unobtainable for real enthusiasts.

How often you heard of quartz breaking that you need to “service “ it??? Battery is swappable. All the outside will wear off before anything happens to movement.
I got the Mars and bought it on launch day in Miami. It's a cool watch and people always compliment it. I swapped out the strap with a white rubber one and it looks great.
Does anyone know best tool to pop open the battery cover? Anything metal like small flat screwdriver Surly will damage it .

Got Pluto at the mall of American. This is the standard for a everyday watch. Paid 270.00 for an icon dial. Nuff said
One day i want a omega watch. But, it sure as hell is not this A plastic swatch/omega toy watch. I went ahead an got the orient star air diver. So happy an adore this watch. This is one of orients best designed an well made watch. Got this watch from creation watches for 7 percent off plus a additional 60 dollars in refund money. So i payed like 360 dollars for a watch that is more like a 2,000 to 3,000 watch. An than you have here a plastic toy quartz that is being sold for 400 to 800 dollars. Possibley more with flippers. When both of these watches become vintage well, i know which watch will still be around an telling time.... Becoming more beautiful as it ages.... It sure will not be the omega swatch......

I'm blown away that anything bought these. Even at retail they feel gross. You can buy two Pagani watches made of steel and a far better movement. It's just gross. They had a good idea, but this is by far their worst finished watch. Why didn't they just do a good job on them? It makes me sick.

Are their any budget mechanical watches anywhere? I'm not a collector, but the wind-up mechanisms fascinate me and I'd love to have a manual wind-up watch one day. Keep grinding mate, love the videos
There are some automatic seiko 5s right around a 100 bucks, and if you want to go more affordable you could check out the invicta pro diver or san martin (but these are hommages i would try to avoid)
In the world of mechanical watches, "budget" means $500 or less. As @@gideondekker1210 said, Seiko makes some wonderful watches in the $100 to $500 range, as does its sister company Orient. And if you are OK with owning a cheap knockoff of a more expensive watch, the Invicta Pro Diver can't be beat, as it looks and functions just like a Rolex Submariner. There are also many, many small watch companies that manufacture watches in batches of only a few hundred or a few thousand, so you can only buy them for like a week every year. But if you're patient or lucky enough to do that, you could get a fantastic watch with features that rival other watches twice the price. They call those companies "micro brands". I'm wearing a micro brand watch right now, the Phoibos Wave Master, and I love it. There are also lots of reputable websites that sell used watches, and they check them to make sure they're not fake before they sell them to you. Jomashop is a good one. I'd recommend taking a look at a bunch of budget watches, seeing what you like, and buying what you can afford, when you're ready. I hope this helps, and I hope you love your first mechanical watch!
I own a Timex Marlin, which is a classically styled vintage-inspired handwound watch that you can pick up for 100-140 dollars. I enjoy it a lot and it looks nice even next to my watches that cost multiple thousands of dollars. Can’t go wrong! Alternatively have a look at Seagull 1963 chronograph. Beautiful (chinese) movement that you can see through the caseback if you pick the open caseback option!
Hamilton makes fantastic mechanical watches starting around $300. Baltic has beautiful designs starting at about $600 but they often use Chinese movements...

Am a watch enthusiast, bought Mars at 1000 SGD on the first day launch in Singapore ) The hype feels like once in a lifetime. Didn't get so much attention with my Rolexes, Panerai, Blancpain Breitling, etc before..
if you are grabbing for attention, maybe look for something else than watches…
@@iseeq72 I do not believe their comment was stating a need for attention, just that of all the fancy, luxurious watches they own, it's the Moonswatch that gets the attention.
Do you still feel it's worth it now? I also own higher end watches like Rolex, Omega, Grand Seiko, but would not be caught dead buying this for over retail much less for 1000.

When I finally held one and tried it on my only thought was $99! $99 would be a good price point… Multiple ads coming out now for $149 for all the variants. I know three people that have purchased them and worn them for an extended period of time… All three have said the same thing… The straps fray and fall apart after a few months of use and two of them reported back that pushers had pulled off when they caught it on something. Both chose to fix them by super gluing them back on😂😂😂 They are complete and utter garbage and I would discourage anyone from wasting their money… For $260 US you can buy a whole Lotta very nice/capable/long lasting time pieces!

There is a DOT next to every number on the bezel. It's "above the 90" for no special reason.

Didn’t like the attitude of the swatch staff at a Swatch store in palladium mall Mumbai. It was the first time today I got to see the moonswatch. They were just allowing one person to enter the store so others could form a queue which would attract the crowds attention and might fetch them some more customers. I was never planning to get a moonswatch but couldn’t stop myself when I saw all the moonswatches on display. My ultimate goal is buying an actual OMEGA moon watch or maybe an AquaTerra.
P.S : They had only few variants of moonswatches avail. They had no idea what was going to be the next stock.
When everyone finds out that no watch ever went to the the Moon, people going to be pissed.

Man i was thinking to buy this watch for my 21th birthday, but ive been reading some stuff from people that this watch doesn't last long. Some people said their watch died overnight, easily get scratched and the materiel were so cheap for 250€ watch... But i really like this and i always wanted an Omega watch or something luxurious but my budget is around 400/500 bucks automatic and quartz movement. I'm no expert on watches so please any brands to look up to?
Seiko, Hamilton and Tissot are some good brands I recommend to check when looking for entry level luxury. They are generally well made and offer a wide selection and you can trust the brand enough that you pay for quality.

Its extremely funny idea but I highly dislike fact that its not stainless steel. They could have upped price just to give stainless steel and put PVD layer. However I feel like they aimed for these things not to be too durable. Stainless steel would basically feel much closer to real one. This is preventing me to buy the watch as for that or slightly higher price I can get enter Tissot, Hamilton, Bulova price category and the quality will be much higher.
Sorry. But this was nothing but a move for easy money! They know they can leverage the Omega name as much as they can. Obviously their upper echelons (Omega, Breguet, Blancpain, HW, etc.) aren't making enough bucks these days to support their operational costs, hence why they needed to come up with something impactful and rather unexpected for quick bucks, even if it was at the expense of devaluing one of its brands. People buying these don't even know what they're getting, it's a cheap Swatch with nothing special in it. People only want these because of the Omega branding splattered all over it, that's it! And because they think it's "cheap" when it is actually a rip off at those prices. Ultimately, this will backfire on Omega, and I can guarantee you this will not be their last use of the Omega brand on a Swatch product.
I think these MoonSwatches are kool novelty watches & should not be worth paying thousands of dollars for. Enjoy them if you can't afford the real brand.

The huge media boom and lack of stock effectively killed off my desire to obtain one. I am so put off these watches that I don't care anymore if they are on the market. I recently bought an Orient Kamasu diver for £200, same price as these plastic junk, and 10 times better in quality and specs.

I have been to eight stores in three countries and have not found one for sale yet. Closest I got was a store in Paris that said they would have some in tommorow, but I was leaving France that day. At this rate I think I might own one in 2032. Meanwhile I hear lots of stories or easy damage and poor straps. By the time I find one avalible to buy I may well be over it.
