    I think they used the outrunner because they are cheap. I bought a few of these 1500 to 2700 kv motors for planes and boats they are like 8.00 and put a smile on your face bang for buck wise! However I think you made a wise choice to the larger can👍👍

    • @TomleyRC
      @TomleyRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      andrew mccluskey It’s the ESC that would suffer with a 3s if it wasn’t capable, so didn’t want to fry the ESC before trying a different motor. I’ll be trying a 3s with the current motor soon and may put the old o e back in a try. But it’s only a 45a ESC so not sure it will take a 3s

      @druscanam 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TomleyRC
      Voltage limits and current limits are separate, if the ESC cannot run 3S it would just not work at all. Also that little inruner I doubt wouldn't pull many amps, especially since it's geard so low so the load would be reduced, 45A ESC is plenty, I have a ZD racing 1/10 MT with a much larger 3650 motor running a 45A ESC and it's totally fine on 3S despite having much greater weight/load/motor size all demanding for more current

    • @TomleyRC

      @@SURCs Sure, but as far as I remember, the stock plastic driveshaft was a weak point. Worked for mild driving, but even on 2S it broke sometimes as others reported. From my experience 3S worked fine, even with the stock driveshaft. (I had metal drive shaft front and rear as spares, just for the case. But never neded them.) Only problem I had have been the wheelies, because the rear monted spare tyre got damaged a bit because of touching the ground. So some CF tape or something else to prevent the tyre is recommended. Oh, and better, oil filed shocks are recomended. But I wasent driving that much, because I have quitt RC hobby.

    • @TomleyRC
      @TomleyRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Reality, Comedy & Entertainment Well, I stripped the gears on my WLtoys....as well as this one. The Feiyue is just as durable, nothing broken after the skate park run (video soon), apart from stripped spur, the same as my WLtoys. This one also comes with metal diffs unlike the plastic 12428 ones (I’ve stripped them twice), and also has a slipper clutch to protect any drivetrain damage. The 12428 is not bad...but it is not built as well as this. I have had my 12428 just over a year, and have had to upgrade the diffs to metal, and get a new rear driveshaft, as well as frying the ESC (stock one). Speed isn’t everything 😉👍
