    Hong Kong was also the issue that opened my eyes to the horrible misinformation campaign going on in the West. I was studying my master's there at the time. The campus was ransacked by angry students. It was even evacuated at one point for bomb threats. Yet none of this was reported on, just as the various stabbings, bombs, and general destruction of the city's infrastructure by the "protestors", were not. Each day I was reading a morning newsletter about China (Supchina for anyone curious), and they would consistently avoid reporting on any of these events, and instead simply reiterate that Beijing was somehow the malicious party, without any real evidence or facts. At that point I started digging deeper and found out that practically everything I had known about China was untrue, be it Xinjiang, Tiananmen, Tibet, you name it - upon deeper inspection, my country, the US, always had their hand in these situations, trying to foment unrest from within. At that point I lost a little respect for my country, and it's also a goal of mine to share my experiences with my fellow countrypeople, most of whom are still drowning in misinformation. Thank your Daniel, for what you do. You are an inspiration.

      Anyway, people I'm referring to in my deleted comment: Gordon Gao, Eric Li, Zhang Weiwei, Carl Zha, Temür, Scott Hu, and Yale (Daniel's friend who's both an eyewitness on the ground during Tiananmen Square protest and was also one of the Hong Kong protester).

    • @ww-hk6ys
      @ww-hk6ys 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@GuyWhoLikesTheSnarkies1435 Yep, YT will censor your post for against the corporate narrative.
      Same in Taiwan.Since the current fascist Taiwan DPP government came to power in 2016, backed by the US, has control of the local court & media, is corrupt, censoring free speech, intimidating & attacking opposition; people in Taiwan have became self censoring.
      If one says something against the current fascist Taiwan DPP government, simple censorship by the government is usually their first step. Then DPP will either fine the person, or criminally charge, or doing both to keep different opinions silent. We call this: you have been "democracied".
      Currently, around 2.5 millions Taiwanese already escaped & are living in China. So far this year, 10s of thousands of Taiwanese have ran to China for vaccines & freedom, many are not coming back at all. In Taiwan, this is called voting with one's feet.
      Of course, all these won't be reported by Western MSM such as CNN, BBC, Fox, ...& NY Times.

      The MAIN reason why the USA western media falsely accuses CHINA of mistreating Uyghur Muslims is because they want to prevent the 1.6 Billion Chinese worldwide and 2.0 Billion Muslims from working together. Both these groups have been discriminated by USA and the WEST for decades and are more likely to work together. Chinese & Muslim nations working together will lead to US losing its dominance of the world. Plus this will gain Asia, Russia, Eastern Europe and African support too including the rest of the world such as Latin America. .

    Great program Rania! We really need to get Daniel's face and voice on larger platforms (no offense, I'm subscribed). I've been singing his praises to Jimmy Dore for a while now. As you know, Jimmy has previously, and repeatedly, had Danny Haiphong and Max on his show. Or how about Katie Halper or Use Idiots?
