returning female crabs in to the sea and measuring the crabs before taking it is a sign of generosity. This is the attitude that Filipino fishermen must learn so that we could sustain our need for seafoods.I love this video ! thanks guys.

Just wanted to say I've been watching all your videos for a few months now. I'm a 30 year old single Mom. My Father just passed away 11 days ago and it's been one of the hardest things I've gone through in my life. My friends and family have been AMAZING. But you and Sarah and those sweet girls of yours help give me strength and a positive attitude on the hard days. You two have such an awesome marriage/bond/friendship/family and it gives me hope that I too will find my somebody who was made just for me and and Son!! You guys and your videos have helped me more then you'll ever know! Y'all are GREAT role models and my Son, Brayden, and myself get so excited whenever we get notified of a new video. We LOVE to fish and be in the out doors and your channel brings us more joy then you will ever know. I just wanted to say thank you and God bless you all!

Love the genuine down to earth vibe you guys have as a couple, even though you are traveling the World to bring us all great content. Also admire how you and your wife respect and cherish each other. Just as the good Lord intended it to be. My favorite thing was when you told your wife " Just because" for the reason you bought her flowers. Why do we need a reason to treat our wives special? They are a gift to us everyday. Thank you for not hiding your faith.

I normally wouldn't watch a video from somebody on the east coast about catching and cooking Dungeness crabs. But I have to say....you did EVERYTHING right! I live 50 miles from the coast in Oregon. Grew up on the coast and have been catching and cooking crab my whole life (I'm seventy-three), so I feel qualified to judge. Great video! A little trivia that some younger people might not know. When you salt the water your attempting to replicate sea water, like the fishermen used to cook them in in their roadside stands (called crab pots) and sold for a dollar each back when I was a kid.

Love it when you visit, come back again soon. Dungeness crab are the one of the best eaten crab. It's to bad you didn't do any shrimpn on Hood Canal, besides world class fishing, oysters, crabn and of course shrimpn for tiger shrimp you missed a classic tiger shrimpn and afterwards a giant shrimp boil, Gods own best feast that a few lucky souls get to enjoy.
    See you for dinner sometime...

Loved the video. I catch Dungeness in Sooke on Victoria Island Canada. Best advise I ever got was from a commercial fisherman who said to stop salting your water and just use a bucket of ocean water. Perfect salt level and made the crab taste even better.👍🏻

I remember when I also used to take my now wife Dungeness Crab fishing...It's been 10 years now and we live on a small island near the coast, where at times, we can obtain a weak wifi signal from the local Marina....we have been sleeping, eating, and breathing Dungeness Crab. I no longer need to check the shells as we just know which are keepers. I can also determine male from female Dungeness Crab by scent. There are periods where we boil them, there are periods where we crack them open and slurp the crustaceans gelatin like innards. This brings us closer to the crabs more and more. I have fashioned armored suits out of boiled Dungeness Crab shells and pieces. After a long day of fishing, I too still get her flowers yet now she only comes to the balcony like cliff of the cavern we call home and grunts..Then slowly disappears into the darkness of the cavern. Eating the flowers...like a Dungeness Crab....I can only look back and grunt as well, meaning I love you too as I continue to go through the days catch. That comment @ 4:02 sure took me back to better times.

When I was younger my parents would get fresh live crab all the time and we would put newspaper down and she would cook and dump them on the newspaper and we would go to town on them lol. Good memories but it is true not many people do it in Florida anymore unless your a Floridian but now a days it’s mostly Northerners that live in Florida lol and they don’t know how to do the crab cookouts. Rob, I have harvested Dungy Crab my whole life.
Their are 2 major rules when preparing crab to eat.
Boil them in the water they live in, and clean them after you cook them as all those things you threw away add massive flavor.

Growing up in Virginia, you could always get your hands on some crabs but now, it let's harder & harder to find crabs. I love them steamed or fried. These are beautiful. Hey Ropaté great video man. I wanted to thank you for everything you do on TH-cam. It's because of the knowledge you have given me throughout all your videos that I was equipped to fully process mine and my cousins striped bass. We went fishing in the cape cod bay near Dennis Port, we all limited out all of us caught a striper over 30 inches. We got to bring home 8 fish total because the Capt and mate gave us their fish as well. I was unhappy with the way they processed the fish. Kinda wastefull around the rib cage of the fish. I asked to bring one home to practice filleting one and I thought I did a better job than the first mate did lol. Your videos inspired me to take my cousins and brother out on a ocean fishing trip. Thank you for being you and for all you do for us and your family :)

Not sure which part of Florida you are use to, but I live in and was born and raised in Central Florida and that is all I know is crab boils and fish fry. Literally so much at times that we get tired of it. I first had fried crabs at my aunts house when my mom and I took a greyhound there when I was little in St. Petersburg. But regular old boiled or steamed crabs, that is like eggs for breakfast here for my entire family and many others I know. Your dishes always look so good :-)

That's awesome I crab in cornet bay every 4th of July weekend. For the past decade. We stay and camp at deception pass, cranberry lake campground. Just went there few weeks ago and got 3 limits on the first and 2 limits the next. Second day we really didn't try to hard and left the pots soaking longer then we liked

Not saying anything but as someone who grew up in an Asian family I can’t help but feel something when you throw all that juicy crab shell and stomach but you do you DMFD! By the way try some more of that Salt, Pepper, and Lime dip!

It's actually not going to waste! If it was in the trash can, then ya it would be a bad waste, but since he throws all the parts he does not eat back in the ocean it's being eaten by all other other animal in the sea..win, win situation.

Always a pleasure to watch your videos. Here in NC we love to eat our blue crabs but I went to a local big chain store last Friday and they had Dungeness crabs on sale, 5.00 off. At 7.99 a lb. I couldn't resist. So this Friday my son is bringing over his GF and we're going to have a seafood boil with them and shrimp, corn on the cob and sausage with crawfish. He loves the crawfish, I'm not into them at all. I'll be thinking about you as I cook it up and eat. Have a great weekend and thanks again.

deisa alise cooking a crab thats dead for a while or dead when you catch it is not good will make you sick. But these crabs died in cold water which makes them ok to eat still since they won't spoil. Blue crabs the same.

Hi, I'm not a subscriber (yet...ahaha) and I'm here because I just wanna watch how people catch crab.
But after watched your video I mesmerized how appreciative and respect you've toward nature, your fisherman friends and dinner guest and absolutely much love for your family. Rather than count your blessing, you share it instead and make it even bigger.
Keep spread positiveness even in hardest time. Subscribing.

It gives me anxiety not being able to see the rest of the rope when they are dropping the traps
Even though the traps they are dropping not so heavy, last thing you want is for that rope to get tangled on your feet.
I love me some steamed Dungeness crabs with garlic, melted butter and lemon juice to dunk them in 🤤
You guys are awesome, I live vicariously through your videos. You guys got some nice size crabs there!
Can do deep fried lobster sometime soon? I’ve learned it from a Chinese restaurant to do deep fried lobster and I fell in love with it.
After you cut the lobster into nugget size pieces(cut the tail in half first from tail to head, not the other way cause it will be easier to cut them further this way), then chop those half’s again 3 more times , now you got 6 pieces of nuggets with the shell still on, toss them in fine corn meal, or corn flour(flour of your choice really) with some of your favorite seasoning added into that flour mix(I guess it would be Everglades) just lightly dust it not so heavy on the coating, a lot doesn’t stick on it anyways since we are not using any eggs or anything so, in the mean time get your oil really hot (without burning it) in a Turkey fryer outdoors (peanut or canola oil works good)
You want it outdoors because of the water content inside your lobster could overflow your oil, and to have that setup inside is the last thing you want, also, leave a good amount of space in the fryer so this won’t happen.
Since your oil is really hot, your lobster nuggets will be crispy on the outside and really juicy on the inside.
Pick them up with a metal strainer spoon after in 3-4 minutes or once they turn that nice red color.
Dunk them in lemon, garlic, melted butter and enjoy,
I chop about 10-12 lobsters this way Christmas time, and I can eat 4-5 of those lobsters myself, since they are so easy to eat that way and they taste amazing.
    Bon appetite!

When you started throwing crab shells in the water I was like what the heck are you doing? You just throw the gold away. Here in Philippines, the meat you'll find in the crab shell called Aligi and it's so delicious and expensive

It's sometimes referred to as crab butter. The stuff is amazing but if you eat too much of it, you can get shellfish poisoning. There is a higher level of domoic acid in the internal organs.

Ben there done that. you'll never forget those crabs and friends all having a good time. we put the bait in a tough plastic container with small holes in it so it attracts the crabs but they can't eat it. Saves alot of bait and you don't run out of bait in the trap so the trap will keep catching them. We got our limit really enjoyed them
