Wish I had found this video prior to application. I got very streaky results initially and took a lot of elbow grease to get back to a good finish. I hoping it will become easier on another application. Overall iam very pleased with the result. I am intrigued by the instructions you read from your bottle. Mine just said, causes irritation.
@@springcopsespaniels2189 below where it causes irritation. It says please read instructions inside or something. The label on the back is actually a book that opens up for all the foreign languages. It actually occrered to me that meguiars needed to say in big letters open the booklet to read instructions. Because those "open" up book labels are not immedietly obvious. Im noticing about say (roughly) 1 in 10 is getting streaking. Its easy to just blaim it on the user, but I think meguiars could help themselves a bit more by making the instructions clearer. they may well disagree but net result is a lot of people having streaking issues.
My car was slicker before applying the product, but it may be because I did it after polishing with 3D Speed. The Montan wax in 3D Speed is super slick.
A useful tip for this product is after you have your foundation layer, mix some 1:1 with water and use it as a drying aid. I've noticed if I rinse it off or use it as a drying aid full strength, I notice streaking that's hard to buff out and I use a lot of the product. It makes it so much easier to use while using less of it and it still beads as strong.
Good suggestion, diluting it 1 to 1 makes it an easy to use spray on wax, I'll have to try it. I'm sure to would be plenty strong enough to do a good job. Thanks
This is the way that I've used this product! And it seems to hold up very well! I'm at the end of the first week and I have not washed the car it'll be interesting to see what happens next!
I just used this product yesterday and I am very pleased so far. I did foam and clay the car first, rinse and with the initial application spray and wipe down the product before drying. This was a 4 year old car and the paint feels better that a new car, but of course new car dealerships do a terrible job detailing. So far so good, in a week I will be applying the second maintanace coat and I hope to even more improvement, but if things go south I will let you know.
Great video! I sprayed it directly into a wet applicator and applied it like a wax for the initial application. This product works regardless of what other people say. It has been on for 1 month today and it is still holding up well. I used barely any product when applying it to a wet applicator. Not as good as right after application but it hanging in there quite well. Car does not get nearly as dirty now. I also used it on the glass and it works great while driving in the rain. Nice video!
Applied it just like you. Still there after 2 months. I also used it on the glass and tires, same results. Next week I'll reapply using it like a spray & wax, like in the initial application.
I've used ONLY Meguiars products for years and recently picked up the Hybrid Ceramic Spray Wax and found it to be just as good as their other products. Its a great company and their products perform far superior to others on the Market!
I applied this straight on my brothers red chevy cruze. The depth it left was insane! It was a little hard to buff off and left many high spots. Probably why they tell you to apply it with water. And spray it off. Otherwise its a great product especially for the price
I have watched several videos on this products. Yours was by far the best. I also discovered that after washing and rinsing, the standing water made streak free application difficult. Your suggestions on handling this was the best for dealing with the initial application. Thanks!
I have to say after using it over 4-5 times it works absolutely great if used right, used it to give waterproofing and it delivers exactly that, last 4 months ish if not washed regularly but with top up sprays it gives the nice water beading, I definitely recommend this for anyone who wants more waterproofing on their waxed paint by spray and rinse and for the normal person that wants it to be easy to wash their car and maintain as its fairly cheap
Good review. I like the product, I found a dry application worked better especially in terms of lasting longer. It is not a slick as Bead maker, but is 10 times better in gloss and last a lot longer. Keep up the great reviews
Tried it for the first time two days ago going by the directions on the bottle for the first application and I hated it. I then used it like a wax on a completely dry car. Doing a panel at a time. Wiping it off 5 minutes later and I loved how it worked that time. We will see how long it lasts my car was paint corrected and waxed
If anyone suffers with streaking, particularly in the warmer weather, after applying it (and just before buffing), spray a decent glass cleaner over where you've applied and then Buff off. It comes off instantly in one wipe - learned this only recently and made a hot day of detailing made easy. Couldn't believe how well it came off with the glass cleaner as a "buff" aid.
I just bought one today for my Plumbing service van. I previously used Mother's Ceramic Wax and I was impressed. Hopefully the Mequires is as good or better
I think for your money sonax is hard to beat. This in the trade would be on the expensive side plus no gallon size available yet. A good review though John.
Just a up date on my using Meguiars Ceramic Hybird wax. Washed my Taurus on 5- 30-19. With Turtle wax Extreme wash by hand. After rinsing car off. Sprayed the Ceramic Hybird wax on a $ 1.97 micro fiber sponge. Applied up and down and back and forth motion. On all panels and windows. Rinsed car with large amounts of water. The more water more the bead. Wiped car with shammy till dry. It's been over two weeks and its rained heavy almost every day from the 30th until now. The car looks shiney still with mass beading going on. It rained Sunday morning. While the car was still wet . I applied another coat of Ceramic Hybird wax. Even though it didn't need it. Wiped the car dry. This stuff lives a great shine and has held up really well. Also did my 2004 Concorde on 5-30-19. Did not redo ceramic high wax on it. Both cars sit out all the time. I put the wax on the Concorde chrome rims when I waxed it the rims still look like I just did the wax job. Meguiars Ceramic Hybird wax is holding up under extreme conditions here in Indiana. Its worth the $13.00. I noticed at Wal-Mart. They are stocking it more and more. Now just have to find a tire dressing that lasts and lasts. Any ideas out there? SHAWN
Looking forward to the comparison with other silica spray sealants...I am a big fan of Gyeon Wetcoat. Will be interesting to see how it performs next to Wetcoat. Thanks for the review Jon!
This product has caused alot of debate whether it contains si02 or not. The USA SDS ingredient list is vague but the UK SDS ingredient list is a little more thorough and while im not a chemist, seems to indicate that it contains si02 in some form.
Steve G. The amounts are so negligible that it’s nothing more than a spray wax, it’d be like adding a thimble of 102 octane to a tank of regular and calling it race gas. Save your money and just buy a spray wax if you “must have” this type of product.
ClutchKick I think it’s definitely more than just a typical spray wax since they say it’s supposed to last up to a year. Even if it more realistically lasts 4-6 months, that’s still much better than something like Ultimate Quik Wax.
Used it for the first time on my 1972 Blaze Orange MGB GT today. It gave a far nicer finish than carnauba wax. In terms of applying it on future occasions, I will avoid the jet wash for the reasons you mention. Very happy with the product. Cheers, Geoff in NZ
After using Meguiar’s CMX spray wax for the past two months I’m very pleased with the results. The appearance of the paint after applying CMX is great. It seems to add richness to dark colors and when it’s fully cured it imparts a nice warm glow to the paint. In areas like Nevada where it’s hot, dry and dusty in the summer Meg’s CMX keeps my car cleaner than Beadmaker. I have started using CMX on another car with Collinite 845 as the base coat and these two products make an awesome combination. Last but not least is that CMX makes a super drying aid when diluted 1:1 with distilled water.
I used this for the first time today. The initial base layer took a fair bit of buffing to remove but I was expecting this after reading/watching other reviews. Second step of spraying on then removing with my pressure washer was straight forward. The results are fantastic. My old car had a proper ceramic coating and the beading from the Meguiars ceramic wax is as good as the coating was on my old car. Yes the coating on my old car would be good for three to four years where this is only meant to last a few months, but it will be so simple to top up the protection every so often as part of my routine. Also as mentioned in your video, I thought drying my car before was effortless but this is something else! I would have some water residue on the car and have to go round again but with this coating it really does pickup all the water on the first pass. Even my ceramic coating on my old car did not make drying as easy as this. For the money it's a very good deal and another great product from Meguiars.
I used this product on two suvs and a boat. Only used a 1/4 of the bottle. Base layer I did one section at a time while wet. Second layer I rinsed car then sprayed product all over said car and then rinsed off. Then topped with BM. Amazing results and quick. Customers are very happy
For me it depends how much better than BSD it is - I use BSD diluted 3:1 as a drying aid and it works like a charm. £20 is a bit pricey for me but I might treat the car once the hype and the price dies down a little
Agree, but realistically how much BSD do you get through? I don’t get through that much, especially since it’s so viscous. If it’s not grabby like BSD, but lasts like BSD it’ll be perfect. Got my bottle, trying it this weekend...
I've just started using this and so far I'm very impressed. The car has kept cleaner for much longer, even in very bad weather that we've had in the last week. I'm yet the give it it's next wash but I'm hoping it'll make it much easier to clean.
Had this knocking around in the garage for a few months. Had to wash the wife’s car at the weekend and thought I would give it a go instead of waxing. Really surprised and impressed with the ease of application and the results. Will be trying on mine next weekend instead of Autoglym HD wax which is my usual finishing product. Saves you a good hour or so using this Meguiars product too.
Thanks for the great review Jon. Would like to make a request for future reviews: Special towel washing concerns. 1)Easily washes out. 2)Will wash out if not allowed to dry. 3)Consider towels disposable
a lot of these material are gonna bury themselves in the microfiber towels. I can see like the effect. Just the materials in these SI02 products (not the full ceramic), if there get covered in this stuff and sit on the shelf for a few days before you wash. Im almost certain even washing wont get it all out. Possibly the same with other materials. Its an interesting one but I cant really examine it more than I have already. but theres an arguement you need good quality microfiber perhaps which is well priced. but towels take a hammering generally anyway dont they.
BSD is better and a lot cheaper too. I've been using for months now once a week as a drying aid. If the car is well maintained and has a layer of protection (Fusso coat in my case) I find it hard to think of any better product to add extra shine and water repellency. I drive around 800 miles/week and I get to power wash the car with water only and use BSD to remove any dirt while drying the car with a damp MF.
I have BSD on 1 vehicle and a product similar to this (303 touchless sealant) in a head-to-head comparison. As much as I love BSD, the 303 is far superior in durability and gloss and slickness/self cleaning properties. I've had to reapply BSD to bring it back up to the level the 303 is still at on the other vehicle. Try it. You'll see. The 303 is very close to the Megs so I am assuming the same will be true using Megs or 303
I was just thinking that this could be the next BSD (if you apply BSD as a drying aid in your normal routine). Good video as always; especially the glass, rubber and trim information (no one else has covered that). Thanks.
I'd rather use sonax xtreme brilliant wax, 20 minutes to do the car, let it cure for 15 then buff off and you have months of protection, fantastic stuff, and alot cheaper but excellent review once again John 👍🏻
fair play jason, just to plant a seed but consider you have months of hydrophobic repellency , does that equal protection? whats the essential difference between a hydrophobic silicone polymer or whatever it is in BSD. Versus what the surface characteristics of a silica material. When you go to wash your car with BSD when its really dirty. Spray water over it and look at the hydrophobic performance? Is it evident, does it need detergents and contact washing to clear the surface? When you have an SIO2 material what happens when its equally as dirty and you just rinse it with water? Can you see evidence on self cleaning properties of SI02? These are the things worth exploring as consumers. In simple lamens terms you could say it doesnt matter or make any difference what we use, but its the subtle difference on things we cant see. maybe put a paste wax on one half the car and SI02 product on the other (after full prep) 6-12 months later use a fallout remover to see if the wax side lights up more than the SI02 side.. little things like this we can do to form opinions on some of these product claims.
I'm always looking at the latest new mousetrap on these car finishes; and they are all impressive. My question is: Is there any risk with using one brand of product on top of another brand, in terms of chemical compatibility?
I actually tried it on my glass shower just to see what I thought (before my car). Honestly, even after about 10 showers, it still beads up. It doesn't, unfortunately, cut the fogging due to humidity.
Just started using the product, so far/so good, no complaints. It was easy to apply & remove, I just hope it provides xtended protection on the longer-term vs short. Great video - thanks for the review!
Finally, someone who looks up and understands the sds of the product. A lot of the hydrophobic properties are inspired from making lab equipment lipophilic or hydrophobic!
Thanks for these videos, really enjoy them. Appreciate the effort and time that goes into doing TH-cam videos especially as you have a family too. Keep up the good work
Good thorough review, I used this for the first time at the weekend, seems ok but I will say it's not very glossy, I'll try your suggestion using it on a less wet car to see if it gets any better
Used this product on my daily driver for a few winter months in Sweden. Never experienced something that had this poor dirt repellancy, road grime sticks like never before but it still hydrophobic.
couldnt agree more. Applied this 2 days ago and went to wash it today. Tar was stuck everywhere and near impossible to remove. Water beaded off well but as for road grime and tar its completely useless.
Used this 2 winters ago and my car was never as dirty with road film. Was constantly trying to keep up with weekly washes and doing odd spray and rinse. Stopped using it now tbh I think it attracts dirt, I might sound stupid but it's like has a pos electrical charge or something.
I used to use this but now I switched to Turtle Wax Seal n Shine. I found this stuff wouldn't last as long as I wanted but the results after applying are great.
Picked this up yesterday and amazed at the results and how easy it is to apply. The only downside is I’ve used 2/3 of the bottle giving a mini and MR2 the base coat and second coat 😬
Long time Subscriber--Suggestion? How about using Volunteers and their Used Vehicles and their Ave. CW doing the same? Be a Novel Idea? and have them come back in 3,6, 9 and 12 mos! Maybe Focus on getting Pretty Girls Cars? Construction PuP Trucks..SUV's, ? And all Used Vehicles- Min 3 yrs old..! Not some Newer crs with Nice New Paint and Clear Coating on them! ;-)
First, thanks for your review of the Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax, I picked up a bottle the other day, and easily applied the initial coat. I lightly moistened a microfiber applicator pad, sprayed directly on the pad & applied it like a liquid wax. Directly buffed it dry & it came out great, no streaking. I'm not much for the process of spray on rinse off , I feel this is far to wasteful of a good product. So far the protection seems very improved over regular spray waxes, we'll have to see. I really liked their product, look forward to adding additional coats soon. As far as price, I feel it's a good bang for the buck. 2 Thumbs up.
Yes, I like the Meguiar's Ceramic Wax, but I'm choosing to reapply it using a soft applicator pad & lightly buffing off. Rinsing it off seems so wasteful. Liked your review, Thank you.
Another great informative view, i usually apply AG HD every 6 months, do think this could be a good alternative? It looks a lot easier to apply? If so I wouldn’t mind applying every 3 months. Thanks
its quicker to apply for sure. the big thing Im trying to look at is seeing if I can observe any like self cleaning benefits over a paste wax. its really hard to determine.
I’ve been using this on my new car, even using it as a drying aid, it’s fantastic! I’m surprised how well it helped me remove water spots as I’m drying in the middle of summer.
First use of this product and I think it’s good. I’m not a detailer, just someone who enjoys washing the cars. I went for the spray onto applicator approach to not waste product. Wet applicator, spray onto applicator and then apply to the car. Nice review and like the M-Lite you have. Motech edition? Had a Birds E82 135i and miss it.
Thanks so much for your efforts. So far I tried Jetseal and Collinte and it seems to be ok. After I saw your review i bought gyeon wet coat and bead maker but didn't try it yet. On my cars in Europe I tried ServFaces hybrid spay wax & fast shine 3-in-1 and Dr Koch hartwachs after claying the cars (one year in storage with no real cleaning) and Dr koch is easier to manage but with both same slick feeling indoors. Not tested anything outside after a drive or wash. In summer cleaning is done in the mornings when temp is down and car bodies have recovered from the heat. Thanks again for your help.
Picked mine up from Halfords today, will try tomorrow. Thank you for the vid John Update- Very easy to use, follow John's advice, makes life easier! Car looks really good and feels slick, will need to see how good medium to long term.
i have the soft99 fusso coat, and authentic. I saw this bottle of meguiars on walmart a couple of weeks ago and it got me curious. so i've tried it, first i mistakenly applied it by washing and then spray and rinse. it was alright. but the next time, i did the spray, and spread and dry method, it was superb. theres some streaking but nothing that couldnt be removed with another microfiber towel. I swear I swore to the soft99 products before, since meguiar's ultimate wax products didnt do it for me. but now I fell inlove with this hybrid ceramic wax. Im pretty sure it repels some dirt as well.
We use a spray on ceramic at the car dealership I work at and sell it as a protection product. Only problem I've encountered is it made the trim outside of the windows catch more dirt and rocks which could scratch windows if not taken care of
I heard the buzz about this product so I thought I'd give it a go. I followed the instructions and damn it did NOT effortlessly wipe, or buff in. I had to rewipe several panels several times to remove the smeary hazy appearance. My car color is silver beige which is normally very forgiving but the areas requiring more wiping did stand out. It was difficult enough to leave a less than positive impression. I don't mind working on my car but out of breath and sweating is more than I bargained for. I may need to adjust application to see if maybe I applied too much product, that have been a factor. The bottom line is it's not a foolproof product in it's application. Car looked good once done. We'll see how long it lasts. Price was fair $14.99
nice feedback. one tip you dont need to buff this to a high shine gloss. you just need to spread a thin amount over a section. with the wet applicator. And then just buff it lightly and get it level. It will then fade back into the panel and disapear. if its all thick and streaky you have layed too much down. hey Im not saying, its your fault. I actually think issues around application seem to be commen with this product. maybe its the ackles heel of it. I talk more about this in a comparison video I just shot on the channel. thanks for watch and giving honest feedback really appreciate it.
What a top bloke! I’ve just bought this and a friend told me to watch your Vid. Thank you so much for a very concise and informative video. Top Marks 👍🏼😉
Great review, good product - had a bottle shipped in before it was available on sale in the UK. Really simple second wash (post application) muck and grime just ‘fell-off’...
Not one for Fancy Bottle products, as you know, but I think im tempted. Longevity is not an issue for me as I do like these products from a drying aid point of view, but if it really can do three months its pretty much game changer.
Im not sure yet dash cam. When you use it, be sure to cop a feel of the paint the next day and reply back to me here, if your not impressed. I want to see how durability fairs as well. in particular how long will my paintwork feel this good for. And will I loose this slick hit after the first wash.
how about the "selfcleaning" of HCW? I used wetcoat and it has not the best beading - but as i drove 400km on a german motorway while it was raining/snowing the car nearly looked clean as i arrived. After this i tried future armor, which is also a SiO2 Product - but here i can a very dirty car while only driving 20km in the rain.
Great review as always. Really enjoying your reviews and have helped me no end. I’ve just ordered some ceramic wax as it looks good as a ‘half way house’ between normal wax/sealant and full on ceramic. I’m guessing this will go over sealant ok to give that bit more protection? Keep up the good work 👍
Hi love the channel, good simple easy to understand with unbiased views. Can you recommend any other similar products that do a better/longer lasting job?
Jon, Used it for the first time today on the Mrs Black A Class. I have to say that the first time application took a while to buff. After application I buffed with microfiber cloth and it took a while to buff out. So after completing the whole car, I went back over again with a sort of second buff if you like. After the second buff it came out sweet and by the time the sun was out it had a fantastic pop to it. Very impressed with the end result though. I reckon the hard work with the first application will help with the spray on rince off method thereafter??
Heard a very mixed set of reviews of this stuff. For me there are 5ltr offerings of these spray and rinse products that work out so much more economical. But a good buy for people who will never use 5 ltrs of product. Great vid again Jon.
Im not sure I would use it as a spray and rinse dave, but you can, ultimatly its an option, and it does work. Very important to do the full application at first if you do want to spray and rinse it for later applications. Its too early to say but I think this product might be very very good. like very good. no 5L offering yer its a shame isnt it. so its a retail thing at the moment. I need to spend a bit more time with this stuff to really know how good it is. But I think Im gonna start work on testing this and 5 more a bit more closely.
@@ForensicDetailing a 5ltr and the economy that normally brings would be worth a look. Just a shame really as it wouldn't last a trade guy a day really. I'm looking forward to your longevity testing. I do like these "quick" job products. Makes life so much easier.
Hi, fantastic video and a passionate car detailer. Would you recommend on a dry car then buff off and repeat again? Or will a single application be sufficient? Thanks keep up the great content
I would wash the car. Decon the car if needed (check for smooth paintwork). polish if needed. Degrease and then apply this with the contact method to form a base layer. then use the spray and rinse method untill the bottle runs out. And use all of this product befor eyou go and buy another one. there is no miracle product dylan. and remeber its about fun and passion for the cars and enjoying the products. Hi,i never tried this product but after watching this video I might be tempted to get some,i manly use the Meguiars range anyway so why not.another wax to use and add to the collection.
Jon, please try to include the 303 touchless sealant which is similar to Megs but different in that it's a true liquid. I used it as a spray and rinse and was blown away by the results even a month out. The self cleaning properties, shine and slickness have caught me by surprise. Definitely worth including in your round up since it is so similar. PS - too bad the price is so much more expensive in the UK. In the US, we've been paying $10 a bottle after $5 rebate. Can be bought anywhere for $15.
theres just so many though now isnt there. Our sort of market price for silica sprays seems to be about 15-20 quid a bottle. I would imagine it will come down a bit in the UK as more offerings, we generally pay more for this stuff in the UK against the US but we also have access to very cheap products if you want them from certain places. I could well go again like I have 5 to line up and compare now. but I can build up another 5. I think if I review all of them though Im gonna end up confusing myself. I think this megs one is important just because its so difference in apperence to the other ones Ive used though. 303 though mate I have heard of it, ill mate a note, thanks for the heads up.
Hi I just found your video blogs and a big thanks for them just as a foot note (cover your reg plates i had mine cloned and was used in a violent assault luckily it was in the workshop for repairs at the time and they had 24/7 cctv to prove it. stay safe bro
Looks good john still loving my TAC moonlight with the quartz max on top of it my car looks amazing and is so easy to wash and dry thanks for the info you gave me on the TAC stuff really pleased with it
moonlight is a beast, you can see it on the just off centre right of the golf front bonnet when im spraying down the panel. It will stay like this for months and months, bilt hamber autofoam as well really works well to clear out the surface and keep moonlight like un-masked if you know what I mean.
Glad to see guys still like moonlight, I can't wait to get my hands on it. It used to be on Amazon but I haven't seen it available for 6 months. Shipping to Hawaii is ridiculous so I almost rely on Amazon for all my products.
@@RB54DaBears If you got to www.tacsystemusa.com/car-care-supplies/moon-light/ email them and ask to be informed when it is back in stock and if they'll ship to HI. You have to purchase as soon as they email you as it sells out quickly. They may even ship to HI directly from Korea...
For me, water beading equals more visibility; especially if it's applied liberally to the windshield like Rain-X, I'm even asked to detail my folk's vehicle whenever I come over for that purpose of higher visibility in inclement weather and this product looks VERY promising. No, it's not the first product to use SIO2 (in fact, there's a heavy competition for this type of product; so if Meguiars offends you for whatever reason, then you can easily go over with something like Mothers or P&S Beadmaker like what I have for now or a smaller group who are trying to develop their line and feel better that you're helping smaller businesses, lol); but you get the biggest bang for your buck with this product. No cure time, if you're noticing that the water is not repelling to your likeness, then you can easily apply a lighter coat and generally be satisfied that way. Got another wax or coat on your paint? No problem, this product enhances that performance also...lol...It's what I love about this product is by how stupid easy it is, and also very forgiving when you're applying it...
Only a couple of times did I use waxes and wasn't impressed; because where I live, there's pollen and debris which seems to cling to the paint so I'm only sticking to any pain sealants or ceramics as much as all possible...
Like gyeon bath plus ? ceramic shampoo type thing. you could do mate. when you use these products the repellency is impressive but Im actually not so keen on them at all really. Its not the product its really the combination of combining protective materials to a surfactant and trying to utilize them during the wash process. Its not the for me. the shampoo also isnt as effective and nice to use as their gyeon bath essence. my recomendation is use a pure shampoo to clean the car and do your protectional stuff afterwards.
I feel this product is super similar to meguiars` own Xpress spraywax. Not sure if you have tested this product before and have any experience using it. You use it in the same manner as this ceramic spray in the video (xpress wax is bad on windows tho). Xpress wax also last long 3-6months depending on weather and amount of washings performed.
Just got back from a holiday in the 'States where I bought a bottle of this........$15 in Walmart, about £11.50! Looking forward to giving it a go.....but almost double the price over here in the UK? Why do we put up with it?
Hi Jon, My Son has this on his car but he's not impressed so I will be removing it with Garage Therapy Zero shampoo in the next few days and will put it on my channel. I will let you know how that goes.
Hey Jon, can you retest this for me on a small spot....i opened a brand new bottle...its 2 years old in my storage...it went completely dead.....i even put it in hot water to melt everything down inside, and then shook the hell out of it after a 10 minute soak....completely dead...im shocked Jon.....please investigate with you bottle see if its dead?
That was a solid review brother! This has become one of my top go to products. I like the versatility in the application process as well as how it plays well with a lot of other products. (Whether it's wax, sealant or Si02 based) Been using it for over 2 months now with no complaints. However like you said about the spray and rinse method... I don't use it in that way. Its noticeably less effective and uses way too much product.
@@Lolgingerbread33 For one of my cars I've only used it one time 2 months ago. Been testing it for longevity. It's still holding up thus far although the beading is not as impressive as in the beginning but its definitely still protection there. Not sure if I'll ever find out for sure how long it will last because I'm ready to reapply it again to get it back up to maximum performance with those insane hydrophobics. I dont think I can wait too much longer... 😁
@@Lolgingerbread33 I had to experiment with it a few times to see what was the best way to apply it. There are several different ways it can be done. For me I found that using the Brian (Apex Detail) method combined with Waxmodes method. (Check out Waxmodes Jan 2, 2019 video from 3:10 - 4:50) I've found that to be the ideal way to apply and remove HCW. Removal is a breeze...
remember its made for ,unless they changed there promo to use over your fav megs wax or polish,...i doubt i had any (megs ultimate fast finish) on when i first tried this when it came out, works good and helps with drying when using a blower last me about 3 weeks eachuse in florida on heavy dusty construction sites i like it its fast and no water spots
Nice review as usual. I have two coats of Maquirs Ultimate Wax but not sure if I can make the finish "slicker" and also dirt repelling as ideally I want to use a filtration water system. Any recommendations? Not that fussed on price.
I really cant say on water filttration sorry. if your in the US check out the obsessed garage package and they can give you some support on a pressure wash and water filtration combo.
I have BH Double-Speed Wax but I am more and more thinking about ditching it for something like this. I don't see the point anymore in applying finicky time consuming paste waxes where you have to avoid plastics, trims, grills, rubbers etc. These types of products are a huge time saver and you can apply them to all these areas unsuitable and inaccessible to paste waxes and get even better coverage. I get the point some people enjoy waxing their car (I used to before having kids!), but for someone like myself with limited time it's a no brainier. Surely it's a win win? Can anyone prove me wrong?
One usefull update. Next day after a full cure. the reasonably slick paint on application, went to "ultra slick" car feels really really nice as well.
Forensic Detailing Channel Yes it makes the paint super slick and glossy. Very happy with this cheap product.
That's something that I've never seen mentioned but immediately noticed after using!
Ed Ruiz It has held up nicely for me also! Spray and rinse works just not as good as applying by hand though.
@@edruiz6364 Doesn't it make the tyres slippery?
I spray on wet, and wipe in with a damp cloth. Everytime. Make sure u shake this stuff liberally, it’s the bomb .
Can we apply on dry surface after using diamond cut polish
Tried it for the first time two days ago going by the directions on the bottle for the first application and I hated it. I then used it like a wax on a completely dry car. Doing a panel at a time. Wiping it off 5 minutes later and I loved how it worked that time. We will see how long it lasts my car was paint corrected and waxed
durability of the product is strong bill.
This is probably the best review of this product on TH-cam. Thanks
I love how you explain stuff, very professional !
Used it for the first time on my 1972 Blaze Orange MGB GT today. It gave a far nicer finish than carnauba wax. In terms of applying it on future occasions, I will avoid the jet wash for the reasons you mention. Very happy with the product. Cheers, Geoff in NZ
why wouldnt someone like a beading effect from a product like this? reduces water spots and dirt/mineral build up. are there any disadvantages?
Jeeze John...MOTHER'S MAKES CMX, NOT Meguiars. MEGUIARS makes Hybrid Ceramic Wax. Get with the program or stop posting. :)
For the money it's a very good deal and another great product from Meguiars.
nice feedback thanks for that. so far Im happy with it as well.
For me BSD as a drying aid solves the grabbiness issue, adds tons of shine and works great as a topper for Fusso Coat.
Saves you a good hour or so using this
Meguiars product too.
Great review John , it would be good to see it tested against BSD for longevity/durability.
Absolutely...but i think BSD will be the winner.
@@alimoghadasi3748 what is bsd?
Try it. You'll see. The 303 is very close to the Megs so I am assuming the same will be true using Megs or 303
@@medqenmedness229 BSD is an abbreviation of Sonax's "Brilliant Shine Detailer".
@@ForensicDetailing I'll have to try that with the fallout remover on the wife's car as a test 👍🏻
I love this product , I use it as a ceramic coat topper and it helps keep my car clean and shiny and extremely hydrofobic
Well thinked lol
3:44 It passed the good'ol slapping test
Just started using the product, so far/so good, no complaints. It was easy to apply & remove, I just hope it provides xtended protection on the longer-term vs short. Great video - thanks for the review!
Finally, someone who looks up and understands the sds of the product. A lot of the hydrophobic properties are inspired from making lab equipment lipophilic or hydrophobic!
Thanks for these videos, really enjoy them. Appreciate the effort and time that goes into doing TH-cam videos especially as you have a family too. Keep up the good work
Great video, just ordered and hopefully have good results when finished 👍🏻
Good thorough review, I used this for the first time at the weekend, seems ok but I will say it's not very glossy, I'll try your suggestion using it on a less wet car to see if it gets any better
wait about one hour after applying it then have a feel of the paint and the gloss. should be pretty decent gloss.
Sorry John. I watched a video of yours where you gave a ratio for it to be used as a drying aid. I can't seem to locate it now.
1:5 matt
Used this 2 winters ago and my car was never as dirty with road film. Was constantly trying to keep up with weekly washes and doing odd spray and rinse. Stopped using it now tbh I think it attracts dirt, I might sound stupid but it's like has a pos electrical charge or something.
I used to use this but now I switched to Turtle Wax Seal n Shine. I found this stuff wouldn't last as long as I wanted but the results after applying are great.
Your method was the best way of applying this... thank you
I bought some last week and I'm pleased with the results.👍🏼Thanks.
Picked this up yesterday and amazed at the results and how easy it is to apply. The only downside is I’ve used 2/3 of the bottle giving a mini and MR2 the base coat and second coat 😬
just have to be carefull with that italian job. 30ml should be enough to do full (spray and spread) application.
Beadmaker is all I use now. Griot's one step sealant toped with beadmaker is heavenly! Matt from OG has me hooked!
Not some Newer crs with Nice New Paint and Clear Coating on them! ;-)
Can you use two paint sealants?
I always avoid the front screen as don’t want any glare from lights
2 Thumbs up.
its good stuff isnt it.
Thanks
its quicker to apply for sure. the big thing Im trying to look at is seeing if I can observe any like self cleaning benefits over a paste wax. its really hard to determine.
i am curious to find out how well it will stand up against bird poo....
Had a Birds E82 135i and miss it.
its just been motech'd its not like one of the ones BMW sold as motechs. Its not a shadow edition. but really love this car. cheers mike.
Thank you for the vid John
Update-
Very easy to use, follow John's advice, makes life easier!
Car looks really good and feels slick, will need to see how good medium to long term.
Robert Mills how did you get on?
i have the soft99 fusso coat, and authentic.
This product is the best I've ever used. One thing about glass. Make sure it's absolutely clean first!
I think Maguire's always produce a good well thought out product. I'll be trying this.
Great informative video. Guys like me need guys like you before we go out to buy stuff.
Thank you. 😎
That's exactly what I am seeing from the similar 303 touchless sealant. High gloss and incredible slickness/self cleaning. Quite surprising actually.
I did my first wash after HCW, it was a lot easier than after BSD. Dirt didn’t ‘stick’ as much.
One added benefit in the states is its available at auto parts stores where most other silica sprays are not
Does this product replace the use of ordinary wax? First compound and then use this Ceramic?
yes
Two plus months on my F-150 daily driver. Still beads and repels quite nicely.
Great review as always. Really enjoying your reviews and have helped me no end. I’ve just ordered some ceramic wax as it looks good as a ‘half way house’ between normal wax/sealant and full on ceramic. I’m guessing this will go over sealant ok to give that bit more protection? Keep up the good work 👍
Keep up the great videos! I have c2v3 on my car already. Do you think I could layer this on top?
If we buy enough of it worldwide, Megs will release a gallon at some point. They have done with UQD, UQW in the past.

I experimented with a spray on wax and this hybrid together, much better than just by itself.
Just ordered Angelwax Desirable Wax today! Would you use a Ceramic Wax Wash on top of a wax like that, or would you rather avoid this ..?
Like gyeon bath plus ? ceramic shampoo type thing. you could do mate. when you use these products the repellency is impressive but Im actually not so keen on them at all really. Its not the product its really the combination of combining protective materials to a surfactant and trying to utilize them during the wash process. Its not the for me. the shampoo also isnt as effective and nice to use as their gyeon bath essence. my recomendation is use a pure shampoo to clean the car and do your protectional stuff afterwards.
Products never last that long cuz when your mates see your car they go, can you do mine?
Ha-ha!!
I have a bottle still under testing on a few cars. Nice price and works.
I still have my original bottle. Siloxanes dies tend to expire after 12 to 24 months. Will take a look
Love this stuff! Got it for $10 USD! I apply it dry, best performance.
Brewinz no residue? I’ve found until I rinse it pretty hard, it doesn’t bead really well
$10.?? I paid $16 for a 10 ounce bottle even at Walmart
I’ve bought it I’ve used it, I’m happy with it ,most of all it does exactly what it says. Thanks for the review.
Hi,thanks for review. Have you applied it on rims ? If so would be nice to have update on durability on easy of future cleaning .
I was waiting for you do make a video on this stuff! Can't wait for your testing.
In the past 2 months how long has it lasted? Do you apply every week?

For one of my cars I've only used it one time 2 months ago. 😁
ldtriton just applied it to both my cars, a lot harder to take off by hand than I thought it was going to but eh I guess I’ll see if I like it

I had to experiment with it a few times to see what was the best way to apply it.
After applying with damp applicator do you just wipe it off or does it need a double buff like a wax
remember its made for ,unless they changed there promo to use over your fav megs wax or polish,...i doubt i had any (megs ultimate fast finish) on when i first tried this when it came out, works good and helps with drying when using a blower last me about 3 weeks eachuse in florida on heavy dusty construction sites
i like it its fast and no water spots
I used this stuff and spent 3 hours chasing streaks on the first 'base coat', very labour intensive product...
I have got decals on my Adam is it ok to use this product on them very useful video thanks
