I love your Tagalog!! You have a slight Portuguese/Italian accent while speaking Tagalog and some grammar is off but very comprehendible nontheless. I’m also impressed by your vocab, it’s almost native like. I like the way you say “ayos lang” and “wala talaga akong kahihiyan” made me laugh 🤣
As a multi lang myself, I find it hard now to find my proper accent. The story goes like: 1992 born in South Africa, 9 months later we moved to Portugal (my family is Portugese and I consider myself Portugese as well.) At home we spoke 2 languages; English and Portugese. When I was 10 years old we moved to the Netherlands, so obviously, I learned Dutch fluently. At this point I spoke English, Portugese and Dutch. However, growing up with mostly Dutch, I forgot a good amount Portugese (still understood most of it). During my 15 years in The Netherlands I also learned Spanish, Japanese and Korean. My Spanish is basic-fluent, Japanese and Korean is at the beginners level. At some point I started learning French and Chinese, but very broken and limited. Two and half years ago I moved back to Portugal, reinforcing my Portugese, losing Dutch (I work for a call center in the Dutch Market though), my accent in English became very thick and relearning all the languages I just mentioned, plus adding Afrikaans (which is basically Old time Dutch) and Italian. Not to mention that I have managed to somehow learned (not a lot) and understand German. Watching Polyglots on YT makes me continue learning more languages, but right now at 28 years old, Idk if I have the capacity to continue to do so (which I find it very sad). Keep up the good work and keep inspiring other people to learn as many languages as possible. Seeing people smile when a foreigner speaks their language is a wonderful feeling!
Kudos to you for being an introvert yet being a TH-camr. That definitely has to be a delicate balance, but I'd say the healthy doses of humor you have help you out. Glad I stumbled across your channel tonight. I only know English and that is a horrible shame given how awesome it obviously is to know more than just one's native tongue. Hey your portugese is very good! If i may, a quick tip to sounding like a native speaker is to really emphasize the ao sound like in Não or São really hit the ao hard. Very good work! I love your videos
Here is the short simple version. The only people who try to partition you into any group....white, black, hispanic, asian, whatever... are groups hoping to teach that world-view so that they can convince you to vote for this political party or that political party.....and a lot of people fall for that narrative. But in real day to day life.... people in the US only care about the exact same things that everyone else cares about.... are you nice, trustworthy, pleasant company and a good conversationalist with whom we share common interests or perhaps we don't but you can describe new and interesting things. It is not the case that there are people pointing at you saying.... "You sir are hispanic, not white"....although i'm sure there are people who have been so indoctrinated by the various political narratives that they think thats the case (although interestingly they can never display an example in real life) You're a good looking guy with a great personality.... if you came to the US, the only trouble you'd have is the women fighting each other for your attention, lol.

I relate to the being seen as exotic or special so much. As a pale white boy who speaks ecuadorianish spanish with an accent that's not completely american but not completely native sounding (obliviously) no matter who I talk to they're just shocked

I’m also a polyglot (Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, American Sign Language, and a basic level in others) and I’m a pronunciation coach and grad student getting my Master’s in Bilingual Speech Pathology. Your English is amazing and you navigate the language flawlessly but American accents are really hard. Let me know if you ever want some tips! I specialize in Spanish accents because I’ve lived and studied in Spain!
I've studied phonetics, but my accent is a bit inconsistent and kind of a mixture of all different types of accents. And no one uses the British flag for international English as far as I'm concerned. Each country has it's on standard for Spanish and whatever Spanish speaking country can represent the language with their country's flag. However, yea, people sometimes prefer using flags that are more well-known.

Do you have a lot of experience conversing in Chinese? I feel like you have a very heavy accent and you accentuate every single tone. This way it is hard to understand what you're saying as a normal Chinese person would omit some tones for the flow of the sentence. Or underplay the tone of the first character in a two-letter word. I'm no expert in Chinese though, so please correct me if I am wrong!

Do you have a lot of experience conversing in Chinese? I feel like you have a very heavy accent and you accentuate every single tone. This way it is hard to understand what you're saying as a normal Chinese person would omit some tones for the flow of the sentence. Or underplay the tone of the first character in a two-letter word.
I'm no expert in Chinese though, so please correct me if I am wrong!
