@KoltonBarnett I disagree. 4 tenths is huge bro. Basically a half of a second. The vette gets to 130mph in almost 100ft less than the stang. Average car is about 15ft long. Do the math bro. It's a gap. Lol.

@@danielarroyo7550 you are correct. The Mustang comes with crap zero nero tires at 235. The car needs Pilot Sport 4S tires at 285 width. It will help tremendously.

Done a 10.1 with c7 z51 coupe no convertible. Also done a 10.1 when my mustang was stock but in better weather than c7 run. C7 is the faster car stock vs stock. I’ve kept up with some full weight e85 tuned 10 speed mustangs in it recently
A full grown person in those back seats will end up with blue legs that would need to be cut-off if you get stuck in a few mile long traffic grid-lock. Also you’ll need a chiropractor to straighten your neck.
Tip : The best way to accelerate any C7 Covette while rolling is to quickly apply full throttle and release, this will enable car to gets into power band by dropping a few gears (and activating active performance shift)and then stab the throttle and see it fly.
The two cars make the same HP and the Sting Ray is lighter so that turned out about like I thought it would. You're lucky to live so close to "Mexico." Leave it to Ford to design a system that doesn't spin the tires in Track mode but does spin them in Drag mode .... when you don't want any spin at all. And remember ... that 10-speed transmission was a joint project between Ford and GM.

@@HeathsHobbyLobby That's due to the positioning of the transmissions. The Corvette's obviously in the rear. If this was a 2014, then it has the 6 speed or 6L80. If it was a 2015+, then it would have the 8 speed or 8L90. have 4 less acceleration gears is quite different. The new 8 speed DCT changed everything.
I have a C7 and my next door neighbor has basically the same mustang! He refuses to line up. To be completely honest I have yet to ever hear his tires even squeak at 60mph. Others in my little group drive a ZL1 with CAI, C7 cam, heads, intake. Very fast car! Mine is bone stock but plans in the works for stage II kit from Texas speed. Then just cosmetic.

I still like the old type gear shifter on the c7 over the c8? Way to bad the c8 has no manual option. Still no fan of multi valve engines with high red lines unless it’s a manual, all said pushrod engines low end torque seem better for city driving to me but it’s a personal choice.
Thanks for doing this test! I'd really like to see a Mustang GT with the 3.15 gears vs yours with the 3.55. Both 10-Speeds. I have a feeling the 3.15 will do better 60-130. For whatever reason, it short shifts into 7th gear for the 5.0 10-speeds. The 3.15 gears will already be in the 130's at that point so you don't have to worry about it short shifting during this test.
@@RacerX9 I know for a fact the 315 is a better highway roll gear because I have one and it always outruns the performance pack 3:55 gears from rolls it stays in power longer. You also need to learn how to set that car up while in the manual mode to hold gear when you start the pull then bump the gear selector back into drive

Drag mode is definitely faster but you absolutely need to turn traction control off. When it spins on the hard shifts traction control kicks in and it will pull power momentarily.
I wonder how the Mustang would have done with comparable tires to the C7. I also think the GT should have been allowed to cool down before switching to track mode.
100 pounds for every tenth of a second, that's the difference between the two cars. I have also found that formula works when racing my own car. I was able to shave close 260 pounds off my car and my quarter mile times were consistently .2 -.3 seconds faster than before the weight reduction.

when traction is on in the mustang and it pulls timing you dont get the timing back till the end of that rpm of that gear that mustang is faster then that good runs and so interesting to watch thank you !!
The Mustang seems to not be shifting correctly? It holds the rpms, in a couple of gears, but shifts quicker in other gears and doesn't stay in the power band. May need to try one with manual shifting?

I’m ordering some RTR wheels with some pilot sport 4s and anxious to see what difference that makes in drag mode. Mustang certainly not embarrassed by the C7. The C7 realistically should have been matched up with the GT350, as that's the model that is most like it in price point. The GT350 has gobs more hp, but more weight. It would have been much closer. The GT isn't meant to be a competitor to the C7. That said, I did take on a C6 in Black Beauty (2018 Mustang GT) and won. I was in nothing more than Sport Mode. I had no tire hopping, but I don't have the stock tires, either. Love your videos, Bro.

Vette is sports car and different league and has been through history. It isn't in the "muscle car" category it has always been a sports car category. Competition/rival for mustang has always been Camaro. Cant really compare the cars. I've had both and have both and just wondering when ford decided for the mustang to start comparing it to corvettes instead of the Camaros which has been its rival for over 40 years. Stock to stock is a true comparison out of the box since you can take some random Honda and make it faster than both because of mods. Great review and honest review, found your channel and enjoy it. @@Limited-uq2yk Its not all about displacement when you are comparing 4 cams vs 1 and 4 valves vs 2. That's the entire point of smaller displacement. The problem is it costs you torque over the entire powerband.
That 25k price difference isn't for 4/10 in the quarter... its the price of 10s / lap around a real track. Corvette isn't designed to be a drag car.
Own a 16 GT Convertable but drove a C7 and C8 from Turo and damn, cant stop thinking of those vettes. Especially the C8!
Throw on a tire and run some E85 in the mustang! The mustang is a animal on E85, my car gained 40whp with just a tune. Great video as always!

Yeah GM stock trans tuning is soft and tons of torque management. The pick up well with trans tuning

The reason the mustang spins is because of the shitty tires.. but if you put a bigger tire on it , it will proly make it slower because of the weight.

I just bought a 2021 Mustang Ecoboost with the 10 speed and in Drag mode the 10 speed is a beast. The shifts are extremely firm.

Competition/rival for mustang has always been Camaro. Cant really compare the cars. I've had both and have both and just wondering when ford decided for the mustang to start comparing it to corvettes instead of the Camaros which has been its rival for over 40 years. Stock to stock is a true comparison out of the box since you can take some random Honda and make it faster than both because of mods. Great review and honest review, found your channel and enjoy it. The. Mustang should shift butter smooth in drag mode, hard in race mode. Drag mode will give you the quickest times though.

Of course the price is worth .4 tenths lol..Ur comparing a legendary track car with a muscle car....race them on a dig or a track and corvette will waste the mustang lol....especially track that's where corvette shines...get the z51 pack and it can annihilate porche and BMW and Mercedes high end cars lol....the grand sport which isn't even a zo6 was .1 sec behind a gt3 on the lightning lap and beat an r8 v10...ain't no mustang doing that lol
If you want a really fast mustang LS swap it, Vette > Stang even if it WAS slower

Vettes are fast but I can beat them pretty easily even with my 6 speed.

@@Limited-uq2yk Its not all about displacement when you are comparing 4 cams vs 1 and 4 valves vs 2. That's the entire point of smaller displacement. The problem is it costs you torque over the entire powerband.

I daily mines in track mode. I never use drag mode.
I don’t hear the mustang revving out the whole gear past the first few and then it’s shifting at like 6700 instead of 7300
