This so much. Like I heard a few of the wrong notes too, I don't want the actual guy who wrote em go "yea that was perfect". We can appreciate and admire the fact they got the other 99% right without hiding the 1%...
That’s what I was thinking too. How cool is it to hear it honestly right from the source how to play these passages correctly and what can be done to improve. At the end of the day don’t we all want to play as perfectly as possible??
My personal opinion is Jeff Loomis may be the most underrated prog. metal guitarist ever, and also Nevermore definitely one of the most underrated metal bands.
He is by far the best prog and modern metal guitarist ever, also the Dead Heart in a Dead World is by far the best metal album ever created, by the most important band ever Nevermore!!
A trillion thanks for including my video in your reactions, I'm still awed and the constructive criticism was literally the best thing! If I could go back 20 years in time telling my younger self when listening to the "Dead Heart..." album that one day Jeff would react while I play a track off of it, I'd laugh hysterically! Oh wait, my reaction is still the same! 😄
I want to thank you Jeff for putting such a personal "stamp" on your sound/tone and musical identity.....it's immediately recognizable....fresh and always dark. And that's the thing we all should be shooting for....learning as much as we can and then putting our own twist on things to forge our own signature styles, This is something Jeff has done in a big big way.....Jeff is unmistakably Jeff, and we all thank you for that!! Keep it up metal master!
Met Jeff on a bar 9 yrs ago. Incredibly nice guy. Really calm spirit type of guy :) Very patient because we had a ''fanboy'' with us but he still made us feel like one of them. Show was 10/10! Edit: I just realized he's going to turn 50 this year?! He looks great!
Good for you keeping the respect level up man. It can be so easy to trash talk people (which would probably get more views unfortunately). Never heard Nevermore before, but between the killer riffs and your awesome attitude, I'll be sure to look for albums now.
you kidding me motorteeth you never heard nevermore there fricken awesome Jeff loomis is one of the most heaviest of guitar players in metal technical and very rythmic to which is rare and hes right up there with alex scholnick of Testament and Criss Oliva of Savatage
@@thrashfan4ever That's what the internet is good for. I had never heard of Nightwish until a few years ago when the whole "Vocal Coach Reacts..." stuff started taking off. One of my friends introduced me to Nevermore in 1999. Jeff Loomis has been one of my favorite guitarists since then. He has greatly influenced my playing and song composition. Thank you Jeff for years of enjoyment.
Jeff your are the man! I stumbled across this vid and thought it was so cool to see you be so open and honest and genuinely honoured to see your fans play for you. I am sure it was a thrill for them as well. Be well brother
Thank you for showing me how much fun the guitar was way back at Island Music in WI. Best teacher I ever had and so humble. Loved jamming with you after my time was up even though I didn't do much.
Jeff and Michael Amott are for me THE most inspiring guitarists over many many years! Because of him, I tried out Sevenstrings many years ago and that and his constant output of great stuff pushed me and my playing to another level and it still does! And you can see in every Interview or in this video, he is a super cool down to earth guy!
Hard to imagine a better player, and more importantly, a more genuine person. Thanks, JST for putting all these vids up and honoring one of the best guitar players to ever live!
Loomis, after i listened to all the nevermore records, became my biggest inspiration for sure. Phenomenal player and such a great person! All the best from Brazil 🙏🏻🙏🏻
the whole video of Ola recreating the Dead heart in a Dead World tone was A. Super informative with nailing that gnarly guitar tone and B. fucking hilarious
The "Doing the Riffs" guys are WI natives, just like Loomis himself. They are in a progressive metal band called Pangaea. They also skate a lot better than their intro shows.
I love unusual metal, for me it's just an outlet, as for a person with a certain musical education it is an incomparable pleasure to watch the birth of something unusual, original and extraordinary on the metal scene. I can hardly think of bands that have influenced my tastes more than Nevermore, for example. And the most beautiful thing about metal is that the vast majority of talented virtuoso musicians are pleasant, tactful, positive people. This destroys literally all ancient stereotypes about metal. Thank you Jeff, your work has greatly influenced me and the music has supported me in many difficult life situations.
Never heard this dude speak with his voice; only with his strings, which obviously is always amazing. Dude seems super chill, and nice, and genuine. That’s always such a fucking plus. I dig your vibes, Mr. Loomis.
@ 6:30 Everyone SHOULD be a genuine fan of his playing. Jeff's unbelievably talented and a brilliant songwriter. I'm very excited to see the next stages of his career unfold!
Just found this video. I like the fact that he not only reacts but also provides constructive criticism. Good for ye, Bro! 👍 I certainly will keep closer eye on ye from now on! Keep on rocking!
It's refreshing to hear some constructive criticism in here instead of just going "Yeah that was great!" Jeff is super encouraging about it as well!

Exactly, tips and notes from the creator(s) of the songs are possibly the best advice you can get.
same thing with John Petrucci, he gives great feedback

"Oh shit Garret"
Garret smiled somewhere today
Hahah, wow that's awesome! Glad you liked it... that made my day
How did it feel when he said "Oh shit, it's Garrett?"
it is because you 're a killer dude
Lmao I was wondering if you saw this.

great job Garrett!
I can picture Ola crying, when hearing Jeff said:"That's my boy."
have you seen ola's "reacting to jeff loomis reacting to ola?" He pretty much did cry haha
@@buhimoth yeah, I saw that😂
Ola Rocks, looking at that pic of nevermore it does look like Warrel Dane, so Warrell Dane isn't dead he reincarnated into Ola Eglund

Jeff is so humble and kind to his fans.... such a class act, respect.
what a positive guy. I love that he actually analyzes the playing and not just giving 10/10 everywhere. Awesome video
RIP Warrel Dane
Jeff Loomis one of the greatest ever!
RIP Warrel. Sucks I can't see a pic or hear the music without thinking about what could have been with more Sanctuary on the horizon.
Long Live PT! Long Live Lula!
man, nevermore was so fucking great. Miss Loomis riffs with great vocals
Mr. Loomis is the G.O.A.T.
You know you're good when there are other good players playing wrong notes in your songs.
Those guys with the wigs killed it. Both funny and technical!
Ola should see this and react to the reaction of Jeff reacting to him playing his songs LOL.
