He went factorial with his powers, basically he went as far as he could in two minutes, used the memories gained at the end of those two minutes to get further, giving him 4 minutes, keep adding onto this until you reach the limit of what you can handle.
I can see this ability used like this being a very quick way of getting alzheimers though.

Critics wasn’t too keen on this movie, but I genuinely like it. I mean it is not a Oscar winning kind of masterpiece, but it’s quite entertaining and that’s what most of the people look for in a movie anyways.

I like this movie, I had hoped for a sequel.
But I don't get why Cris didn't want to get Liz involved for this reason.
Solo he sees two minutes into the future but with Liz it was days, that's a huge asset. Instead he could have asked Kelly to protect Liz in exchange for he's corporation.
Because he can't control whether or not he sees further than 2 minutes, it just happens with her without him meaning for it to
the whole reason the nuke went off was because he was too preoccupied with saving Liz, which is what he meant by "I made a mistake"
He knew if Liz was involved he wouldn't be able to focus on the bomb because he'd be too preoccupied with keeping her safe and since he can't decide whether or not he sees further than 2 minutes he can't rely on that.
EDIT: alternative idea, if you don't like that explanation, while in bed with liz he already went through every possible scenario and knows exactly how to stop the bomb and that particular future can't involve Liz. I still like my first explanation better and would put money on that being the writer's intended reasoning.

@@Timithydwolf yes and no, at the scene at the end when they are at the ship it explodes in the distance. he knows about where it goes off and about when, he doesnt know how it got there. cause when you watch it back, he wakes up and kelly goes to the store, then spikes his drink, then he jumps etc, how much time has passed? 3 hrs? then hes caught, told to watch news, how much time has passed? 1 hr?2 hrs? 10 hrs? he escapes gets to the rooftop. that must have taken an hr-2. to get the chopper to fake being shot, probably 30 min to an hr. then staging and planning to go to the ship, another 3 hrs, followed by the events of the ship another hr. so he knows where bomb is like 12 hrs min to maybe 36 hrs max from his vision, he doesnt know where bomb is during those hrs. it could be there it could be else where. and the perfect example is when he see's liz he knows she will arrive at that time, but doesnt what day/month/yr. he doesnt know where she is prior to that. but he knows where she will be in future.

I think it would be worth to mention the part where at the end, Nic Cage narrates over something along the lines that even though he can see into the future, the future is constantly changing simply because he is "looking at it". Also he told the girl that when he is with her, he can see further into the future than those 2 minutes.

I feel like this movie would have been a lot better if they did more to explain why Liz was able to affect the future sight. Instead, they just sort of keep it really ambiguous, almost like the writers themselves weren't totally sure how it all fits together. But it was definitely an entertaining movie when it came out.

A power like this has 2 issues. 1. You won't be able to tell what is reality and 2. It will take real time (seconds to maybe minutes?) to go through and understand the 2min in future and esp days into future with her. Unless time is stopping while he processes the future at 0 time passage.
