We're watching a movie that’s basically selling the fact that all deaths although looks accidental are in fact all strategically plans out and nothing is coincidental. To say at the end that his teammate fatty died accidentally, his female teammate died because of a misunderstanding and his own death was just an act of revenge by an upset husband who's wife died seems to throw the main point out of the water. From this team of killers, who survived and who reeks all the rewards at the end? -- The Uncle!!
My theory is Brain got killed at the end and never found out that the Uncle was indeed the mastermind behind everything. Coincidental Alzheimer, coincidentally dropping his cigarette and not picking it up, coincidentally forgetting to block the security camera, coincidental fall from the second floor AFTER calling Brain for help, coincidentally killing his teammate and coincidentally dropping of all the balls that started it all. How is it possible to have so many coincidents in a movie where nothing is a coincident? Brain's wife died in a car accident and coincidentally besides Brain, only the uncle believes it was a set up. Brain coincidentally got robbed but his wife’s watch which he values was coincidentally left behind from the robbery. This tells us that whoever did this, knows him and knows him well. And all these coincident just happens to revolve around the uncle. He’s actually the brain behind the brain. Using Brain to exterminate everyone while he sits back and relax and then killing Brain at the end. Too bad the audience only gets to watch the movie from Brain POV and so we don't get to see how the whole picture unfold. Brain got outsmarted and died without knowing why seems like the perfect ending.
Motive: The team looks down on the uncle and even threaten to throw him out of the group. After throwing a tantrum, he then starts his own group as the mastermind and in order for him to do that, he must get rid of the competition. His own team. Or he already had his team in place beforehand, hence dropping the cigarette and lying about it to start a fight with his teammates. New group members probably consisted of the random guy who bumps into Brain in the rain, the bus driver and the sketchy landlord. After coincidentally bumping into some random dude during the operation, Brian was instantly thrown into the street where he was faced with an incoming bus where he almost got hit. After getting hit by the bus instead, Fatty questioned if it was truly an accident before dying. Brain believes that this was no random bus accident and knows someone was going after his team. Uncle plays his cards well with the coincidental I have Alzheimer and can't remember anything and so Brain killed the woman after she picked up the payments and knowing the clients only Fatty should be aware of. Brain was lead to go after Chan and coincidentally the apartment underneath Chan's apartment just happened to be up for rent. The sketchy landlord pops up at critical times unannounced and talks to Chan seriously which pointed more fingers at Chan. Right in the middle of Brain executing the hit, the bus driver just happened to coincidentally wakes up at the right moment to give his statement and the uncle just coincidentally called to say he took to many pills resulting in his own fall, which in turn got Chan’s wife killed. Chan was save but this resulted in Brian getting stab at the end by Chan. No doubt Chan will either be jailed or kill off soon afterwards.
How else can we explain a group of assassins (Fatty, Woman, Brain) getting killed one by one in a short amount time and the only one who survived is surrounded by a series of coincidents? Accidents? I think not! We should know better than that. So in conclusion, it was an elaborate scheme executed by the uncle perfectly instead of a bunch of coincidental mishaps that just happened to happen.
Poor guy dies without knowing why and he’s supposed to be the brain. LOL

This man taught Death how to kill people in Final Destination.
What if all the deaths in Final Destination were Brain's doing? He's so good at it, those kids only THOUGHT that Death was out to get them. But, they were just making false connections because they were simply too paranoid for their own good. What if someone had just hired Brain and his crew to kill those kids and make it look like an accident?

@@mahanadeem2538 Nah, that misses the point of the movie. It's not a simple whodunnit with an actual mastermind, it's a psychological thriller about the MC going mad with paranoia and ultimately the ironic karma he receives, killed as a result of an actual accident in his process.
Not everything have to be squid game.
I love the concept. Being paranoid is an issue and this movie nicely depicted how worse can it get.

The man that always meticulously planned hits dies after his plan backfired due to unforeseen events and is spontaneously stabbed by a random dude after accidentally killing his wife. Quite the ironic karma.
Precisely. Everyone who thinks that Uncle should have been a mastermind misses the point of the movie, to show his paranoia and the ironic karma he receives.
An eclipse seems like a pretty big event to let slip your mind during a plan that's reliant on sunlight. He didn't check the weather for overcast and not a single news program mentioned it? Woulda been better if it was a kite for a "Oh Shi-" moment.
But it also speaks a lot about karma that he refused to make accidents involving car crashes because of what happened to his wife, and it was a plan involving a car crash that resulted in his downfall.
@@Midsomnyx He was most likely incredibly paranoid at this point and not really capable of thinking everything through, I mean if you were hiding thinking someone was hunting you and your team down, you'd probably be unable to really think as clearly as you were able to before.

This could honestly be the "Hitman" movie based on a group instead one dude. Their ideas are a lot more interesting than the 2 official Hitman movies.

For me, the essence of the film lies in the name of the characters.
The fact that characters don't have actual names in the film elaborates that the focus of the film isn't on the characters.
The main character's name "Brain" essentially sums up the plot that if we put our attention on something and our brain becomes obsessed with that thing then we start creating non-existent connections. The ancient knowledge of astrology can be cited in this context. The same thing happens in the film. Brain-the main character- gets obsessed with the idea that someone's behind the accidents and eventually connects everything with it.
Moreover, for me, the film successfully delivers the message and next time whenever my brain is gonna get paranoid, I'll take a step back and think whether it's actually the case or my brain is leading me towards it.
For me it lies in the title

I don't think one should perceive this film in this way. You just missed many points.
1) The whole team members are very precise in staging the "accidents" and they never hurt themselves or any other person in their plans.
If Uncle was the mastermind behind all of this, he would have never hurt himself by jumping from the 2nd floor. I mean, he's too old to survive, why would he do that. Doesn't look like a mastermind to me.
Secondly, the bus driver almost killed himself and 6-8 other people too. That's not how the team ever planned in the film.
2) If the director wanted to give this interpretation of a mastermind behind all of these accidents then he must have shown The Uncle at the end.
Clearly it wasn't the intention of the filmmaker.
3) The Motive you gave doesn't fit either. Uncle forgot the cigarette at the scene jeopardizing his own freedom and the whole time. Still Brain gave him a chance.
He forgot to release the Balloons and no one blames him. Later, when he tries to remember about the accident which killed fatty, Brain asks him to not think about it.
I am sorry but you just thought that Uncle is behind all of this and then revolved the whole plot behind it. Furthermore, most of the things you based your arguments on aren't in the plot and you are making suppositions. Plot wise, i think one should restrict to the plot and what's shown in the film or what's hinted at by the writer and never ever run a parallel plot or what happened before or after what's shown in the film.

I’m still confused as to why Chan stabbed Brain. He had no idea that the wife’s death was brains fault, in fact from his POV, brain is a weird quite neighbor who tried to warn Chan about the car that hit his wife.
Perhaps a grief thing. Chan needed a person to blame so Brain was the only one there to do so. Maybe thing thinking that if Brain didn't do what he did then his wife would be alive.
I guess he thought that the only way Brain could have known his wife was in danger is if he was involved. Chen realized that the solar eclipse saved him and that he was the original target. So he deduced that his crazy neighbor tried to kill him but killed his wife by mistake.

the problem with ``accidents`` is that they would be completely unreliable... for a person in order to actually die it has to either :
1)have a demaged vital organ
2)have a massive bleeding
3)have blocked airways
(bad infection is another thing that can be deadly ,but you have to be completely out of medics`reach for prolonged period of time for that)
human can fall from the top of 4th storey building and still have roughly 50% chance to survive... so humans are pretty good at surviving any type of ``accidental`` blunt object related traumas
you can get sliced many times by sharp objects and still live as long as one of three mentioned conditiones was not met...(in slender man incident victim which was little girl survived 20+ stab wounds and knife attack victims 81% of the time survives)
You don't need them to be reliable, just hard to notice or point to someone. The whole point of an accident is to ensure that there is no thorough investigation over the case. An unlucky person can have multiple accidents and only badly designed ones are noticed.

all the movies that i watch is predictable but this one, the plot twist is really good.

I thought it was the Uncle who set the team up but he was just getting old and careless. This movie is ultimately about greed because with so much intellect the Brain could have stopped being a hit many and did something in finance.
From he started dropping cigarettes it was like to purposely leave evidence.

I think a big point of the film was how someone's brilliance can blind them to the truth. Since Brain knew how easy it can be to make someone's death look like an accident he took this to mean that all the deaths around him were hits instead of an accident and he became paranoid.
So his wife being hit by a car. Not an accident someone had been out to get him. Several apartments were broken into, but it was just to hide the fact that he was the target. It's one else he cared about gets hit by a car, must have been a hit, all of that tragedy leading to someone else he cared about jumping, must have been a hit
So I mean he obviously cared about Uncle, but Uncle also believed his paranoia and as such made it real
Hell, I started to think Han was secretly behind his wife's death and was actually the person he ran into on the night with the kite in the rain. But he wasn't. Brain's paranoia became a self-fulfilling prophecy where he got killed because he thought people were out to kill him
