Yet another great find Nick. That walnut staircase truly is a work of art. And the arched doorways, the cotta floors, the brick vaulted ceiling, etc. Fabulous!
You’re speaking my language, Nick, especially this week! Artist studio-stupendous! - especially if you could open up that bricked door. We would love it & as you said, perfect for a couple. What gorgeous views! Thank you for brightening our lives, Nick!🙏😘
The living room would make an awesome art studio, with all the natural light and space. The large first room would make a great theater. Thanks for showing us Nick!! You always find the stunners!! 😊
Nick how do you do it how do you live each day with this kind of passion you have more passion in your little finger than I have in my entire being my wish for you is for you and your lovely bride to build and finish your own home you certainly deserve it with all the happiness you bring to us you deserve the most happiness for yourself❤
Nick, your tours are beyond amazing. This property is so unique and that walnut staircase is stunning. The beautiful arched windows are just doors in my mind, to heaven. Unbelievable views. Thank you for your attention to details. You’re amazing! 🤎
Nick, thank you very much for the shout out, it put a big smile on my face. Your video's are excellent and are regular Saturday evening viewing for my family and I. In fact, even the dog know's who "Nick" is, in our house! As an aside, I've been to Todi and I can also confirm that it is a beautiful town and would be a great place to own a property.
Beautiful property Nick. Lots of potential to customize. I would turn lower level into master bedroom, move washer out of 1/2 bath and add shower. 1st floor would be a master bedroom with en suite. Cheers🍷
Cheers from San Diego. Thank you for your fun videos. I used to live in Florence nut San Diego is my home now. We visit the Tuscany, Lazio, Umbria country side as much as often as we can for vacations avoiding the bigger cities and we always have the best time.
Nick, I drove right by this place today. I was on my way to another area and I saw “Todi” and thought “I wonder if that place is easy to find.” Then I got lost and as I rounded a corner I saw the well! Those streets coming down from there are NARROW!
Such an amazing property! What you described as the artist studio is absolutely stunning with its high brick-vaulted ceilings and stone walls. It would make a lovely media/TV room. I agree, the staircase is a work of art.
What an extraordinary property. The fluidity of that remarkable staircase truly is a work of art. My only real concern is the 'kitchen' which although not remotely to my taste, is also literally and figuratively a work of art (as you indicated) and which, for that very reason, I would not change. Where however does one store their food, dinnerware, glassware, cookware, and small appliances such as microwaves, toaster ovens, blenders, etc. when the minimal open, built in shelving seems to be all there is. The rest of the place however, is just one delight after another (including the Nancy Drew mystery tunnel). I feel very lucky to have had an opportunity to tour this unique home... thank you.
@@susanrim999 I realize that and agree to a degree, however I still question where the basics of a kitchen such as a few pots & pans, plates & mugs, glasses & food items, not to mention the fundamentals of a kettle & microwave would go, Unless there was a corollary pantry area which I failed to notice, a cutlery tray was about the only kitchen item I saw. Nick, I just stayed in Todi for two months and it's an elegant place. Now I drove to Rome at 6am and it took me just under two hours with no traffic that is only to the suburbs. There are endless roadworks at the moment. I stayed in a house centre of Todi, drove past those wells every day and it was also for sale The stench and, mould made me very ill. Be mindful of that when buying medieval places in Todi. I adore Umbria, you can read the latest on all the cities from Todi I wrote about on my blog. Umbria is amazing and so is Todi. Todi has an amazing places with great food and strong Australian and USA culture too. The views from centre Todi are truly wonderful. This city is still very much authentic Italian culture. A real gem. I wrote lots on Umbria and can give you an excellent update on it.
Thank you so much for your comment. That’s very strange 🤔 I’m not sure it was the same font. It’s not for sale and there is no water in it. Thanks for watching.
My family and I are in Purgia ( Cortona) visiting from the Us and we keep telling everyone that we learned about this area because of YOU! Thank you…maybe we can grab a coffee while we are here 😁
Hi Nick, stunning house this week. As a part of another thing, a palazzo, have a aprticular distribution. It deserve be enjoy by it self. Awesome this strange passage hidden underfloor. I enjoy so much this property. Thank you Nick.
Another great find! The brick ceiling is awesome. I think the special feature is the walnut staircase. My dad, who was a master carpenter, would have really appreciated it. Nick, thanks for the tour!
Nick I love your videos and your personality, always showing us amazing properties. This one is a gem for sure, I would also love to see more homes under three hundred thousand euros. ❤️
Sending healing prayers and so much love to Alex and his family 💗🙏 Absolutely adore the medieval villages! So much history, character, and incredible design detail. This has some beautiful details, and potential for some easy updates /changes. (I envisioned a row of simple fruit trees in terra cotta pots out front by the water /archway and columns).
Dear Nick, I really enjoyed this video so much! The house is a dream - all of it. I loved your shout outs as well. Many prayers to all your viewers and to you! Love and Light, Laara in Canada
Really lovely house- I could see myself in downstairs room working remotely or sitting upstairs and reading. And your presentation is always pleasure to follow.
WOW...this is just sensational Nick! I said "gorgeous" before you did!!! LOL That staircase is a masterpiece and the rest of the property is fabulous! Love the block marble kitchen with wine bottle holes! Perfection. I love Todi and almost bought there years ago, so I could see myself in here easily...a great home for some lucky person! 🥰😍🤩
That staircase!! It is a work of art, and a testament to the skill of the craftsperson who built it. In the bedroom, you could also build closets on either side of, and above, the bed creating an alcove with lighting, and side tables, as well as lots of places to store clothes. The space above could be for out-of-season things. It would also make the room a little less monk-cell like.😉 The corner with the beautiful dresser could be turned into a reading nook, while moving the dresser to another room. It would compliment the built-in storage unit in the living area nicely. Since this is an old palazzo, could the area behind the grating (hole in the wall), be an old priest hole? How do you find such Amazing properties!? Kudos.
Ciao Nick, "bellissimo" this treasure on the edge of Todi. They did an excellent job on the renovations, blended the old and the new perfectly. Again, the price, is amazing. Thank you for this listing. Amore da N.Y.
What a quaint place! There are so many beautiful details.... This would be the perfect vacation home....no gardens to maintain...located ideally. It sure would be interesting to see where that passageway leads to...and what might be down there! The price seems very very reasonable too! Thanks for bringing it to us Nick! As always, please stay safe and all the best wishes from Esbjerg, Denmark and Manchester, New Hampshire USA
Hi Nick❤ I definitely think Umbria is heaven on Earth love the outside love the beautiful wooden staircase the fireplace room love the kitchen and bathroom and even though the place seems long and tall I love the hallway that allows privacy into each room instead of having to go through one room into another but most of all the mystery of that potential underground area what a great perk and the price very reasonable thanks again for sharing until next time ciao
Thanks Nick. With your beautiful, enlightening, and totally engrossing “One Property Takes” I can at least dream about life in Tuscany and its beauty and history with ancient preserved homes until I win the PowerBall Lottery.
I looked at the lovely light stone inner doorway then then just beamed as you walked through and I saw the staircase :). With perfect sound effects too ! I can see a light looking staircase along the wall up to a medium size mezzanine at the far end of the studio and somehow (?) some inner or outer glass doors to bring in the light. Lots of options for personalising to suit. Great place and price. Thanks for sharing.
This house is a beaut, and that staircase is positively yummy. Very unique and would make a great statement house. I think my favorite space is the upstairs fireplace room. I would definitely pursue planning permission to get that working again.
what a wonderful old world beginning of the tour! :) ooo-ooo-whee! such beautiful workmanship in the brick and stone -- the stairs are absolutely fabulous! the minimal kitchen is max in charm! how interesting and adventurous the nooks and crannies leading who knows where too lol and i love those floors - so beautiful. simple but lovely features with light pouring in and so pretty to look out and see that landscape! this place is a real charmer! how enjoyable would it be to live in this house :) it offers so much to delight in! and careful those knees nick! the much work you are doing on your own place exacts real labor of love.. but you seem very much to enjoy it all :) :) :) as always, another great tour!!
Hmm, the vista from the bedroom window is priceless! But the rest of the property really leaves me clueless - small and long without any garden or balcony to enjoy the vista... Regards from DE - stay safe and sound, Nick Joachim
Hi Nick. You find spectacular places to share with us. This property definitely didn't disappoint. I'm curious as to where that tunnel leads and was it used for an escape for the owners family. Maybe during a war. Thank you again.
Oh Nick! As an artist (painter) I have ideas for this artist friendly space. I would use the downstairs for gallery show space with hanging system and dimmable lights fitted with sofa and comfy chairs for hosting and to double as a lounging room with possibly bar cupboard. I would spruce up the bathroom and close in the washer and dryer so it could be used for guests. Then upstairs I would turn what is now the living room and dining room into my painting studio with its amazing east light that would include a large wood table and chairs still for dining. It could have a flexible room divider if desired to separate the studio area. If allowed in the area, I would have open gallery/studio days or viewing by invitation and certainly use it for artwork to be photographed and shared on social media with artwork available online. But this is just me. I do not use any solvents in my oil painting process and I would want my art studio within my area of daily routine. It would be a gem of a live/work space for an artist!
Hey Nick. What a shock when I heard the price. Wow. A lot for your euros. I have a suggestion you may or may not like. Maybe once in a while, like here in a town like Todd (never been but want to) you could show what is near by like for shopping, eating, etc. You could start the video there and walk towards the property or do it at the end. Just to give us what is nearby. Thanks so much. You know I do love every video. Xo Ps get some knee pads to work with.
Nick, can you possibly do a primer on how the calculation of space is done in Italy. In the US, 230 sq meters (2476 sq ft) would be a generous family home. At 2476 sq ft, you would expect 4+ bedrooms, 2+ baths, and abundant common spaces. Here, we have a charming property, albeit, a tad bit small for a family. Some insight wouldn’t be appreciated.
Nick, as an artist, let me say this is perfect!!!! Let me know if you are planning to come to the RA Summer Exhibition this Summer so I can get you both tickets. I'm starting a new artist residency in Castel del Piano next month so if not, hopefully we can find time to catch up whilst I am there. Fingers crossed Fratello. Abbracci, C J Simpson.
As an artist myself, I would think it is a bit dark as a studio. Nevertheless, a beautiful space and a nice house on a great location. Thank you for this find.
Meravigliosamente bella questa casa! Da abitare con gioia😍. Solo un pó di pensieri per il buco nel muro che non si sá dove porta… e se un giorno qualcuno chiama da li😳…
Tremendous property!!!! I don't think there is a bad property in Italy!! Such a variety of options, who wouldn't love it there!!! And that vista and staircase..... I'll let them speak for themselves. Love you, Nick, and have a great week!
I will guess Vermont teachers as I saw the USA state license plate. Neighbors, I am in coastal New Hampshire, USA. What a great price so close to Rome!!
The best thing in that property is the view and the staircase. The artist studio is great if you’re blind or make glow-in-the-dark pieces. The doors upstairs are ugly ones from 50’s or 60’s and besides not matching the rest, they give no privacy. Tiny kitchen but very nice room with the old fireplace. I guess the price reflects all that.
@@johnhastings462 yeah ok big boy. Let me rephrase then “the fireplace that used to be functional at some point in time but is now a way to not have a flat wall anymore”. Get a life !
The building looks so big from the outside but inside the rooms are so narrow. There was a lot of storage spaces which could be closets since there's no where to put your clothes. It's definitely for adults without kids or just one child. But for the price it would make a great vacation home. So is it a condominium? Do other people live in the same building? Thanks for the tour.
Nick. I love this place & price. But I'm not going to be able sleep until that tunnel is boarded up. Something could be living down there. And may want to say Hello. !!!
Question if the garbage disposal is right down from the house when the wind is blowing in the right direction and when there's heavy heat. I think you would smell that, am I not right
Nice house. I would miss garden and/or balcony. Otherwise looks good and I think an additional floor in the big "entry hall" would be nice. What I don't get is the Etruscan images in stone. Is it from recent times or original? That would be unusual as the Etruscan area was before the Romans i.e. before 3rd Century BC.
Hey Nick, another great video. Question...is it possible to buy a piece of land and then bring in a manufactured home? Thanks! Also, when do we get to see an update on your renovation?
For a property that is so beautiful on the inside, I am mystified at the exterior being so unkempt. Why they don't take a weed whacker and maintain the bit around the front doors and along the front of the building? - they already have very nice-looking benches there if someone would simply trim around them so they could be used. I don't know about the stone jutting out at 5:55 indicating that something originally ran across there or dividing the space into two floors... the placement of and stonework around the adjacent window, and the ceiling brickwork, indicate the original space was exactly as you see it here. Since you mention tunnels under Orvieto, I wonder if it would interest a university archeology department to come and investigate that passage shown at 12:20? I wouldn't knock down the wall (!?!) but see if they could put one of those cameras on a very long snake down there like the type plumbers use here in the U.S. to investigate the condition of plumbing/sewage pipes underneath houses that go out to the city mains. I was surprised to hear the interior was 230 sq. meters (754.6 sq. ft.) - it looked larger than that.
That staircase is a work of art itself! ❤

Yes, Nick, the staircase is exquisite. I also love the downstairs artist's studio which would make fine library and occasional dining hall.
Yes, it would! Thanks for watching 🤗🤗
Nick. I love this house. I'm not an artist, but the views and the renovations are just lovely.
That kitchen Oh my ❤

I guess the price reflects all that.
@@johnhastings462 yeah ok big boy. Let me rephrase then “the fireplace that used to be functional at some point in time but is now a way to not have a flat wall anymore”.
Get a life !
The building looks so big from the outside but inside the rooms are so narrow. There was a lot of storage spaces which could be closets since there's no where to put your clothes. It's definitely for adults without kids or just one child. But for the price it would make a great vacation home. So is it a condominium? Do other people live in the same building? Thanks for the tour.
No it’s not condominium. Thank you for watching 🤗🤗
Nick. I love this place & price. But I'm not going to be able sleep until that tunnel is boarded up. Something could be living down there. And may want to say Hello. !!!
Question if the garbage disposal is right down from the house when the wind is blowing in the right direction and when there's heavy heat. I think you would smell that, am I not right
No this is not an issue. Thank you for watching.
Nick, is there a floorplan/planimetry for this home? I do not see the listing on your website. Thank you.
Please email Victoria at info@abodeitaly.com and we will get the information to you in the coming days. Thank you for watching
Hi Nick!
Hi Louise! 😃😃
Maybe someday too bad cannot do now as my relatives live only an hour away in Citta di Castello!
Thank you for watching! That’s near our office. I drive past everyday 🤗🤗
the Tourists say "Hi", and Nick say's "Buy"! LOL
How do you do it!?! I priced it wayyy over😂 Unbelieveable value!!
Hey Nick, another great video. Question...is it possible to buy a piece of land and then bring in a manufactured home? Thanks! Also, when do we get to see an update on your renovation?
it is possible
No, very difficult in Italy. If it’s on wheels you might be okay. 🙏
momma mia 😄
4:05 Does that sign say PROHIBITION? And what's that refer to??
Sorry, Nick, but you'll have to go back and do the video over again. I need to know where the tunnel leads!
Thanks,
Neil
