The house and its surroundings are so much prettier than when you moved in. You really had a vision and you have achieved it. Your use of second hand furnishings is inspiring. I wish the younger members of my family would do the same instead of only buying high end labels. I will be selling my house and moving into something smaller. I hope to use things I have but might use something new old. Thanks for making Sundays better.
I am from Japan and we call the doll Monchichi. It was part of a cartoon series, Futago no Monchhichi. Then Mattel bought the doll license for the toy line in 1980.

Carlo coming to your rescue with the folding umbrella reminded me of a video I saw yesterday of three men trying to fold up a baby carriage to put in the trunk of the car. After 15 minutes of struggling, a woman walked by, saw their dilemma, and with the push of one button, the carriage collapsed and then she just walked away. It was so funny!
The cabinet with the carvings on the doors is a real find! You're lucky someone else didn't snap up that beauty.
Maybe that top shelf is where you should put your mother's Emmy nominations?

Love your office space with the amphora, the greatly improved garden wall, the charming chest now holding pasta and the shelves. It’s so fun to watch Carlo with his creative solutions and his enthusiasm for starting and finishing each project. Your outdoor furniture that I thought had no future looks at home with the chalk paint. Thank you for allowing so many of us to accompany you, Carlo and the puppies through the green countryside and joining you in a cafe now and then. Living in Mexico, I long for Italian food, the beautiful produce and many plants that don’t grow in this hot climate.
Yes seeing the stairs from that angle sold me on stairs without the previous railing. Although I would NOT be able to climb them….but that’s neither here nor there.

Just noticed holly was really licking and chewing herself. Just concerned she might be developing a hotspot. I have a long haired black Labrador retriever & she gives herself hotspots from excessive chewing & licking a itchy spot & promptly gets a cone, a very short haircut on the area to let it dry & breathe, medicinal shampoo, & time to heal. She’s not happy about wearing a cone, but she will keep licking & chewing herself until it’s worse & very painful.

The copper kettle and amphora Carlo picked out are wonderful, and how beautiful the amphora looks in your little study area. It's beautiful! Markets are one of my favourite things to visit in the Summer where I live, and your market looks exceptional. Such a great way to spend the day. The chest and shelves are a perfect touch for the kitchen area. Carlo has a great eye for re-doing things and fixing that wall & the "ugly" box lol, just ties the outside all together. As for the Villa - I have no words except that it's such an incredible piece of art, beauty, and history wrapped up in one.
