    Definitely a great looking ride its a shame what prices have increased to , and not just on bikes

    Man these bikes should come fully loaded foer these prices. On top of paying for the bike you still need to change pipes grips floor boards and suspension.

    Not much one can add to a review like this other than this. This is THE perfect bike for sportbike guys who are looking to move on from that type of riding. I've ridden since 1975, became an Italian V-twin guy when the TLR was released, then got off the street and club raced Ducati's. I'm old, had to stop that and I also started a business two years ago. Fast foward, my wife bought me an ST because the biz is going awesome; and I have NEVER, EVER in my years love a bike this much. The joy I get by simply putting this in 2nd, and going with it, has no moto-comparison. I had to twist the fun grip, drag a knee, and hold on for dear life to get the exact same thrill I get riding and listening to my ST with my 4.5 Tab Zombie Sticks doing anything at any speed.
    Old HD OG guys, I LOVE torque. I've got the Zombie Sticks, changed out the air cleaner to a Screaming Eagle. I don't need volume, what's next? Cam? What will not ruin the day to day rideability and reliability, but still power it up?

      I'm 73 and from this video and your description share the same riding style. I'm ready to buy one but am afraid it will fail due to sumping, oil transfer and carbon build up due to low stiction rings, blow by and poor pump scavenging. I had an "84 FLHTC, HD replaced the engine 3 times and worked on it 9 times all due to poor design failures and mechanic ignorance. My twin cam is perfect with 38K and my rare brown '82 Sturgis has 100K with .20" over pistons. As a last thrill ride I'd like to get the 2023 Street glide st and ride it in 2nd. but fear the bike or HD have not done their homework with good mechanics. I don't have the time and $ to duplicate my '84 disaster or HD reps avoiding warranty issues. Are you pleased and assured HD got it right this time in 2023 for riders who are looking for a bike that will perform without being torn down all the time in the shop? Looking for a straight answer. Regards

      @@peterperron9744 brother, it took soooo much banging on my brain from friends to make the leap. Mynold man is career aircraft mechanic who out me on. Bike at age 5 and taught me to turn a wrench. And I'm not proud, I've my mechanical betters give this thing a thorough once over, and as hard as I beat the shit out of this thing, it just seems to adapt with me. I was Uber meticulous about breaking it in. All of itz brakes, suspension, etc. No kids till.after break in, and it just keeps getting smoother.
      Had it dyno tuned by a buddy who's got a shop and a dyno, and man... someone like you who REALLY knows how to ride a bike this right, I THINK would love the ST. I'm still adapting from knee dragging. And the more I ride the more I love it.
      You'd be zenned out brother.

    Outstanding Review! Having seen several reviews since HD is loaning these bikes out to "influencers", it was a pleasure to see a thorough review from such a skilled rider, as well as an 'influencer' that actual lives and breathes these bikes and is not afraid to list cons and not just pros. Evidence are you calling out the lacking WHIM (I too am tired of paying for it on multiple bikes), lacking LED turn signals, as well as the price difference (2500) vs the special, when in fact they are using I believe the bags and the rear suspension from the cheaper Street Glide standard model, as well as a solo seat and no passenger pegs. I suspect they save on these items, and use the offsetting costs to help them add the 117/heavy breather and I think a different cam?, so as you implied it depends on whether the purchaser feels the +3 CU INCH is worth the 2500. Myself, I would rather take the 114 special and throw 2500 towards cams/pipes and Legend or some other rear shocks to improve the ride and ground clearance. But to each his own with his money!

    • @usmcvet0313
      @usmcvet0313 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Very true. For that matter you could get a Street glide standard and dang near put a 131 in it for the same money. As long as you don't mind chrome.

    Great review! As a former police instructor myself, I really miss taking my bike into that key hole pattern. I wish that 117 came stock with the RG Ultra, without having to put down almost 50k for the CVO version. I still can’t believe the WHIM is not stock. Installed my own from your video on my 17 RG and has preformed flawlessly. Thanks for all you’re doing for the biker revolution!

    Great review, I just picked up the 22 Road Glide ST. Traded in on my 18 Standard Road Glide. Picked up several good tips regarding the rain mode, braking and hill hold.
    Big note for Harley put the rear heal shifter back on. I left the dealership went for 2nd and nothing, on a 45 mph busy road.
    Since this dealer was out of state before I made it home I stopped by another dealer and picked one up.
    One other issue, give us back the 2nd fob.

    Had my SG-ST since November now. Thought I'd come back and watch this vid again. I have a S&S 2 into 1 pipe now and a tune and this thing rips. The 117 definitely feels revier than my 114 powered Heritage and I generally run a gear lower when riding. When the tach goes past 3200 the whole engine note changes and it really starts to haul. It's a lot of fun.

    Realized watching your vids that it’s the first time I see someone getting on the bike from the right side of it.
    Just curious, are you left handed or how come you go that way?
    Seems harder one most bikes, Harleys adventure bike for sure.
    Great videos, keep up the good work and who knows, I might buy a Harley one day. All because of you. 😎

      That's how all Police Motors Officers such as myself mount and dismount. Serves several safety aspects. If the bike tips, it tips away from you to the low side and doesn't push you out into traffic. Also, getting off the right side, you get off on the shoulder and not in the lane of traffic. It's actually easier to mount from high side once you do it a few times.

    Hi I’m Mark from Italy, great review, awesome as you Americans say! I have a 2022 Breakout and I really enjoy riding it, so much fun. I’m 59 and do quite a a lot of Km’s. I can’t make up my mind, my dealer has offered me a good price in exchange for an ST . Do you think the ST will equally satisfy me ?

    maybe 'm just old fashioned but back in the day we'd call that color primer gray with a clear coat because we weren't sure what we wanted to paint it yet...it'd be nice to see some colors that match the performance...

    The stock Harley front suspension is garbage...it's the equivalent of an 80s cadillac. The rear shocks (13" variety) aren't that bad in my opinion. I wish they had a little better damping but they're better than the front end. I've recently changed out my 2020 Police Road King (FLHP) front suspension to a stiffer linear spring with the Ricor Intiminators. Huge difference for not a lot of coin ($350-400). Holds a line way better and works great at both high and low speeds. I don't like the rubber mounted swing arm/transmission setup. The newer touring frame is suppose to be better than the older touring frames but I get a lot of wobble in high speed curve negotiations during work functions. Really needs a proper brace if it's going to be a "performance bagger". Otherwise, you're just going to get a lot of wallow and flex which leads to wobble in my experience. This only gets worse as your tires wear. These new ST models have a lot to like. For me personally, it would still require me to spend a lot of money on top of the asking price to make it an actual performance bagger because it's still a basic suspension setup.

    Ryan, I'm 5'8 as well and have a question... more Street Glide related than ST-specific. Do you get any air circulation at all with the SG fairing? Want to bite the bullet but concerned about it being too hot here in California. Also, how is buffeting? I've heard from a lot of SG owners that it's an issue. Thanks and great video!

    • @ericjames7680
      @ericjames7680 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have just ordered a Street Glide, am 5'7'', live in California also and know all about the buffeting that is mentioned. The newer models of the Street Glide have an open vent on the fairing to allow air circulation. The stock wind shield that is around 4'' is installed for looks and does not provide good wind protection. As said I have ordered my bike which you can do also, and it takes 30 to 45 days. The buffeting can happen on the Road Glide too, however not as much. A shorter rider like you and I fit and even look better on a Street Glide. I will be installing a 5'' Klock Werks windscreen that has a ''flip'' on top that is suppose to add 2'' to the overall height. If that does not work well then I will try the 6.5'' they offer but you do need to see OVER this screen, not through it. Helmet selection seems to be very important too, for this model and the helmet Ryan is wearing is made by Simson. All off their models seem to work with the Street Glide I am told? To cure 100% of the buffeting which is mainly coming from the sides of the tank and wanting to lift the helmet up, you would install Harley Fork-Mount Wind Deflectors Part Number: 57400146A. However when the ambient temperature is 70 or over, the deflectors do not allow enough air to cool the motor and should be removed. For some strange reason, ''SOME'' people ride the Street Glide in stock form, windshield and all, any helmet off the shelf and ride at 90 MPH with no buffeting problems?

      @@ericjames7680 thanks Eric. It astonishes me how many different experiences people have with the same bike… even when they’re of similar stature. I hated my Road Glide. There was NO air circulation while riding and I was hot all the time… even with a light mesh jacket and my full face visor up. I couldn’t even see the ground when I looked down because the fairing was so huge. Guess I just need to test ride one on the highway to know for sure.

    • @RyanUrlacher
      @RyanUrlacher  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yah, we get temps above 100 degrees here in my town and I ride my SG all the time. It's hot on any bike at 100 plus. You could certainly have a shorter windshield for hot weather to get a bit more air flow.

    I am a rider of 2021 Sportster S. Wanna jump into touring bike world. Just come across your vlog found it is amazing. Would you recommend a beginner like me to choose Street Glide ST ? Versus, Low Rider ST, which one is better ? Cheers

    • @RyanUrlacher
      @RyanUrlacher  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tough call. Depends on whether you are just riding around. Short day rides. Or long distance touring. Street Glide for sure if going to ride many days and thousands of miles.
