About 3200rpm is the sweet spot. It pulls hard from that point up. The 117 ST is slightly higher revving bike than the 114 SGS. Makes peak torque about 1k rpm higher. And yes the rear suspension is much more compliant than on my 21 SGS. Bumps soak up with ease on the ST vs smashing my spine on the SGS.
I recently purchased one of these. It's such an improvement over the last streetglide I owned. I have Cobra slipons installed and wow does it help! I don't miss my 2018 Roadglide at all.....
Does that air cleaner whack your right leg? I want one of these, but don't think that air cleaner would work for me~ I know HD has a high flow air cleaner that is more flush~ thanks from Las Vegas
From my memory, it doesn’t really stick out that much to really hit your leg. It’s not until you really start to grip the tank and squeeze your legs together that you would feel it hitting your leg. But a much more relaxed seating and riding position you never really notice
I have this same bike in gunship grey and the air cleaner hitting my leg hasn't been a problem. I'm 5'11" with a 32" inseam. Great bike. I also own a couple 21 street glide special and I always grab the ST when I open the garage. Probably going to sell the SGS for that reason.
Wonder why they put the smaller sidebags on the more expensive model, ground clearance maybe. 🤷

How about rg vs sg when it comes to wind shaking on handlebars and how it feels small bike or big bike feel?
