It was ridiculous that Toto were forced by the record label to have Byron in the band. He just didn't fit. They dont even sound like Toto in this footage.
Well that was the intention, a different sound to keep it going. Toto didn t get hits after that period. JMB s songs actually did well in Europe. It wsnt a great fit, not for the band or for jmb. But the band didn t adjust anything. They slaughtered Bobby, Fegie and Jospeph live. The man is a great singer and a great writer. They just couldn t handle a front man being great musicians. a voice only goes so far. So sad that the bashing still goes on. No one talks about 1988 where Joseph couldn t sing at all. Or Bobby in 1982 not even showing up. Or Lukather messing up vocally during a lot of concerts in the 90 s.
