That's why having an reversal will be a very big deal in SF6, shotos DP are pretty much perfect for this.
Hey! Did you know you spend less bar if you press forward, drive, forward instead of drive forward forward? It comes out quicker as well.
Looking at your clip you seem to perform it by holding parry, then forward forward, which is sub-par.
Sorry if I'm wrong, and you are in fact pressing forward, drive parry, forward.
Edit: In the first seconds when you showcase Cammys drive rush you do actually input wrongly and it drains more than one bar. Sorry again to be a stickler. Maybe this function was in a recent update and the video is outdated.
When I see a flashy move I throw my Sumo Headbutt on instinct. Yeah, I'm a typical Honda player.

OR, MvC3 input nullification so that your attack ignores the screen freeze and comes out first leading to a counter hit.
I feel like the only thing they should change with drive rush is the parry version costing just 1 bar. Its way too cheap to use and spammable imo.

I was wondering about this in theory (still hope to get SF6). Good, short vid w/some answers, such as EX reversal or Drive Reversal before it.
I may be wrong but I read somewhere that the frame you can cancel out of rush is different whether you're doing the 1 bar parry version or the 3 bar special cancel version.

How do you deal with drive rush on wake-up, like they do knockdown to me and they are far away, while my char is standing they do it and whatever I press I doesn't come out except DI e parry it's like the screen freezes and whatever I pressed it doesn't come out when they do it idk if it's a ps4 bug

I think a good balance is to remove the option to drive impact after using drive rush once a new combo is started. There should be more give and take.

You can and that will punish the ex dp but its a very hard callout and that loses to drive reversal

The Drive Reversal is our only option sadly. It's still basically 2 bars vs. your opponent likely spending 3 Rush Cancel, so you're technically winning the interaction

The wrost part about drive rush is it sets up a long ass combo its very unbalance i kinda stop doing it cause it makes the game not fun
In SF7 you might be able to go from start to KO in one single combo

I wish my reactions were quick enough to spot the danger and react with anything. For some dumb reason my instinct is to low jab everything. That comes from playing too much MK . If in doubt dick punch.

I'm an odd one out here but the drive meter is a bunk mechanic IMO, it's basically a stamina bar and punishes action. Not a fan off all these cinematic interruptions during the fight as well, and unfortunately for me everyone is doing them now. I'd really prefer something cleaner (less unnecessary particles), more fluid (no freezing, stamina bars, or cinematics), and more complex (WAY more moves in character move pools). I like the "Drive" abilities (rush, parry, etc.), but believe they would have been more fun if bound to difficult commands rather than a separate meter.
I'll just wait for Tekken.
You say you don't like the cinematic shit and particle effects but then you say you're going to play Tekken lol
@@AdamSmasherReal like I said, everyone is doing it now unfortunately. Tekken is at least 3D and has decent sized move pools.

Nor does Manon, JP, etc. Not every character has every tool.
I haven't played Kimberly yet; does OD Bushin Senpukyaku have any invincibility?
Edit: looks like no, supers are her only invincible reversals.

ps. I think I'll avoid using Drive altogether. Seems problematic for me.

@@loopseekerI'm not sure. There is a problem with my right hand that prevents certain complex inputs being performed. Even in SFV I avoided using V-trigger due to same issue. Basically played a very simple game without specials, and mostly footsies.
@@darksiders2002 Ah, that sucks. Maybe you can sample a different controller style to see if it'd open the door to other playstyles? I know Rooflemonger made the switch to leverless/hitbox-style due to hand issues.

@@BrawlatronI'm planning to do that for a longest time now, but most of pro players I asked said it's a bit tricky to adjust. Similar problem I have with Soulcalibur VI, but due short combos and slide motion, I managed to get by.
All in all, I'll try to simplify my gameplay by using less complex approach and see how it goes.

Sf6 is the worst sf ever made. Theres no skill required at all. You either win by luck or lose
Drive reversal would be perfect if it wasn't 2 bars against dr's only 1. That's total bs
I dont even thing drive rush need to be nerfed. Its balanced and everyone has access to this tool
I won’t argue it should be nerfed but the mechanic favors some characters over others, and that’s where we might see some tuning. Zangief’s drive rush feels very different from Deejay’s.
