Is it legal to change to a non-factory tire size in the US? It is definitely not in the EU. Non-factory sizes can result in extra wear and tear on the suspension, likely leading to premature failure of parts. Elon has to figure out a "kit" to allow Cybertruck customers to fit a 37" tire. Saw my first Cybertruck on the freeway 3 days ago.....looks way better in person moving at speed than in pictures.
Putting a spacer on the wheels upsets the wheel/tire geometry with respect to the wheel bearings causing the bearings to be stressed differently and wear more than intended. Bad idea.
I'd like to see you put on a 35x12.50 tire on with that spacer. Looks better wider. Cybertruck looks a little top heavy to me visually. Would be cool to consider making wider fender flares too.
I own a Jeep Gladiator with 17"/37s. I have to change my inner fender, trim my OEM Rubicon side rock rails, aftermarket front bumper and added spacer just for looks. So it is not end of the world here for the Cybertruck to fit the 37s. I'm sure after market company will start making parts just to help fit those 37s but it gona be hella expensive since you might need a full lift kit too. Better mind set will be a Plaid and a regular truck IMO.
Putting aftermarket wheels and tires on a Cybertruck somehow makes it look less futuristic in my opinion. Kinda like putting wagon wheels on any modern vehicle! 😂
But if you had Rims that were 37" and only 10" wide with a lower profile tire say an R55 vs R65 then you would avoid these issues. @@damaylaphoenix1155 If you think that, you haven't been off-road. There is absolutely a benefit to a 37 off-road
@@MountainManGuy i have , probably more than you. off road in a electric vehicle? where you gonna keep the spare battery ? ha!
@@damaylaphoenix1155 You're just showing your ignorance. Best to keep your mouth shut.
36 inch tires?
What's a couple inches between fellas😅
Ha ha exactly 👍🏻
Dang I was wondering how 40s would look...welp that isn't happening 😂
Right! No 40” here.
Might as well fab up a Dana 60 for those 40's 😅😅😅
Is it legal to change to a non-factory tire size in the US? It is definitely not in the EU.
Non-factory sizes can result in extra wear and tear on the suspension, likely leading to premature failure of parts. They will negatively impact handling and cause false sensor data, affecting readings for the speedometer, ABS, ESP, etc.
The Cybertruck is already a threat to others due to its sheer size and weight; let's not make it even worse.
Yes it’s legal in the USA.
It's 100% allowed in the United States and it's also legal
Do Europeans not have speed bumps in mall/starbucks parking lots? How else am I supposed to drive over them without massive offroad tires?
Tesla already has PREMATURE failing of suspension parts they've been hiding for years, so there's that.
@@dlux703 They were recalled in China because the roads are a lot bumpier. So they aren't hiding it, but they are also waiting until governments force their hand and not voluntarily repairing them
Adds vastly more aesthetic with larger tires. Alas.
Range has now gone from 320 to 290 🤣
Ain’t nothin a good chop shop can’t fixxx
range drops by few percentage per inch
will definitely impact range :)
There IS a narrower 37" option that is available. Nitto has Ridge Grapplers and Recon Grapplers available in 37x11.50x17, 37x11.50x18 and 37x11.50x20.
Elon has to figure out a "kit" to allow Cybertruck customers to fit a 37" tire. Saw my first Cybertruck on the freeway 3 days ago.....looks way better in person moving at speed than in pictures.
someone please tell me what is the big deal with "37" why is that necessary?
This was answered in this thread prior to your question.
That’s a really big wheelbarrow.
Ha ha
Say goodbye to 10% of your range estimate.
Aren't 35's large enough? lol Sticking the tires out further than the fenders you become a rock thrower. Not good IMHO.
35” are not bad in our opinion.
Totally doable. We have the spacers available. Will be an easy mod for those who want a wider stance.
such a shame that they didn't make this work from the factory
To fit 37s...buy a Hummer EV, install 37s, have dealer calibrate, and still enjoy 300+ miles of range
That’s cool how you can “cycle the suspension “ by just pressing a button
yea..... i wouldnt play with it
It's not a new thing on vehicles
I own a Jeep Gladiator with 17"/37s. I have to change my inner fender, trim my OEM Rubicon side rock rails, aftermarket front bumper and added spacer just for looks. So it is not end of the world here for the Cybertruck to fit the 37s. I'm sure after market company will start making parts just to help fit those 37s but it gona be hella expensive since you might need a full lift kit too. Better mind set will be a Plaid and a regular truck IMO.
Lol!!!!!! It's going to be much difficult with this tesla including the fact that it has air suspensions
Putting aftermarket wheels and tires on a Cybertruck somehow makes it look less futuristic in my opinion. Kinda like putting wagon wheels on any modern vehicle! 😂
Too bad it has to have wheels at all!
But if you had Rims that were 37" and only 10" wide with a lower profile tire say an R55 vs R65 then you would avoid these issues.
Or if a 12" tire is desired then a rim with a greater offset is required rather than a spacer.
These Low profile tires with larger rims are only good for city or highway driving and achieving a look.
Not good for offroad.
you lost me at spacers🤓
Ha ha, we can cut higher offset on our forged wheels for you, easy. Spacer is just one option. Solutions for any budget, we've got them!
