Please don’t doodle a poodle! Poodles are great!

I can’t believe how much people get for those mixed breed dogs. It’s crazy how much their temperament varies. Lots of problems with doodles of all kinds.

Will be getting a standard poodle soon and have been wrecking our brains whether to get a male or a female. This video is so helpful!!! Thank you so much. Those are two beautiful dogs .

My female standard poodle looks identical to yours. I have a charcoal male lab, that is 2 years younger and she definitely rules the roost. He is stronger and bigger but doesn’t realize he could whoop her up, if he wanted too. They do love being together. I just love both of them.

I’m with you! The mixing of the poodles needs to stop. Each dog is so unique and perfect in their own way / leave the poodle to be a poodle ! Noooo folks mixing your dog with a poodle does. Not. Make. It. A. Poodle. Terrible money grab imo. I love my poodle and if I wanted another breed I’d go get that. So hard now to find a poodle that is left to be a poodle

@@elizabethantoine9652 It gets on my nerves when people constantly want to breed my poodle to make more doodles. I told them there are doodle breeders for that I'm a groomer who loves poodles. Doodles are temperamental, and usually are always in bad shape compared to the poodles in the shop

Well, useful. For me is the deal breaker that I can smell male urine, and I don´t like it to be aware of it. Also they pee a little when excited even at home. Also female suits ma so much more.
But there are always exceptions in breed and in others as well. For example by Blue pikard spaniel it has been said, that males are calmer and more willing to please owner. And by greyhounds are the males more cudly, usually.

My wife and I have 2 Mini Golden Doodles, a Black Male and a Gold Female. They are 8 months old. Male is 26.5 pounds & Female is 29 pounds. Female is more Loving than the Male & more Roudy and Curious. The Male is better trained, calmer, and kind of wimpy compared to her. Both very smart & very good dogs!!!

There are no "male and female dogs"; the DOG is the male--the Bitch is the female. I know, it sounds offensive, but bitch and dog are the correct word, the collective word--for both, is canine. In common use, of course, people use dog in the collective, I understand that. One side fact of life, when you have two dogs, always mix the sex, one male, one female. Two females (bitches) NOT good, and two males (two dogs) even worse and worse than that, intact males. One last thing, if you want two dogs--try to get them in the same size range, canines "get into it" on occasion, so one large dog vs one small dog, is not a good idea. Mix the sex, and keep them roughly the same size.

I agree somewhat, but it really depends on the dogs. I have had male dogs whose best friends were also male, and with definite size differences--- my male, 90 pound Doberman's absolute best friend was a 13 pound male, miniature poodle. Neither tried to be dominant toward each other and they always ran around together without my Dobie ever accidentally stepping on the poodle. My male, 70 pound pittie/lab mix loved playing with my niece's male, 15 pound Bichon Frise. Note---all were neutered. I do understand your point, however.

I think it's unrealistic to expect people to use that language outside of dog shows, professional breeding, and similar contexts tbh. Not because it sounds offensive, but because most people will just call a dog of either sex a dog. People who say they're "dog people", that they love "dogs", and that they own "dogs" are very unlikely to be talking about exclusively male canines. "Canine" also often makes people think of the broader family with wolves, jackals, foxes, etc. If you hear someone talking about "female dogs" then I think it's worth considering they are using language that makes sense for the context and is broadly considered acceptable terminology, so is correct wording. Not to mention it helps people to show up in search results (since it's the term most people will use when searching, plus it avoids being blocked by potential filters). Even people who'd normally use "bitch" may avoid it so it's not picked up by algorithms censoring what's been mistakenly registered as "inappropriate language".
But yeah, I basically just disagree that it's not correct to call both males and females "dog". Unless the context calls for using the much more formal and uncommon language.

I has a spayed female Springer Spaniel, when she was about 2 years old I took in an intact male Chi mix, about 20 lbs. The Springer female was totally submissive to him, even though she was aggressive towards me, bit me several times and I could never break her of biting. But she got along perfectly with the much smaller boy.

RIGHT...lol because breeders of purebred dogs are always doing the right thing- NOT!
Please stop presenting yourself as some sort of expert when clearly you are not.
