A really good review on a great helmet for the price. I got mine a couple yrs ago when they came out. I love it for the money. Fits great/true and soft all day. There is no fraying/cracking of any materials after many hours per year riding. It still looks good. Do the visor fitting and it quiets right down as he says. I seal mine w tape also on the vents in cold weather and it is fine. I ride year round in mid Atlantic cold/HOT! You can easily cut speaker pockets and it works fine. Glasses slip right in and you can wear goggles. The view in it is LARGE. You will really be happy with no vision restriction. Use a chin wrap to mount your GoPro type camera to work decent. I really like the comfort and visibility this helmet has. For the price and a little customizing it is a great all around helmet. There are many in this price point so find the one that works for you. I have used ONeal for years and like their fit and quality for the money. Stay safe out there.

Yep, my Airoh helmet did the same with the fake leather cracking and sticking to my jacket and neck after 3 years of continual riding. The internal visor also died. It's now retired. My new Airoh is the brushed material finish and should last longer. I bought the O'Neil Sierra for my son inlaw and he is extremely happy with it.

I bought the same model for a Himalayan trip a couple of years ago and agree with all of your comments, except perhaps the venting, which I didn't have any issues with, maybe I have a hot head. Whilst riding the rocky mountain tracks, I wore tinted safety glasses and kept the visor up and its slight visibility didn't bother me. The inbuilt shade is a piece of junk, it is so stiff and almost impossible to operate whilst riding. It is a fairly noisy helmet, but I'll take that as it is one of the most comfortable lids I have owned.

The main thing i love that screew in’s for the cap are mettal and will not brake, unlike the HTC FX-CROSS PISTON, which is twise expensive, which i ride for summer, and screew ins for the cap are plastic, and are rubish, and HTC do not replace them.

Thanks for the review Pavlin, maybe you could find some rubber plugs to block the vents from the inside for colder weather (earplugs ?..) You'd have to stop and take the helmet off to remove them if you want to open the vents but at least it would be removeable, not more permanent like the Duct tape, and they wouldn't damage the lining..

Common sense and practicality best describes you and your videos most people would just take the helmet and throwing it out and when I spent another $300 about another one you fix it. Also a helpful video I'm looking into a new helmet and I'm so tired of that the best helmets they say are the ones that cost so much money.

Do the American versions come with the quick release fastner. That alone would be a sale in my mind. I like the lighter shade of the sun screen, I can't wear sun glasses because they often are too dark. I like the review very much. Thanks for a realistic view of this budget friendly helmet. In Florida I just started riding again after 30 years. I ride now with a dirtbike helmet with no faceshield. It's now April but in June you will be eating bugs riding in Florida. Until now I use a very large pair of prescription glasses that works well for short periods of time. Needing a helmet with a faceshield soon.

Of course there is a big market demand for cheap helmets or cheap products. This does not mean more expensive product are irrelevant. always open vents on the top is an awful design when you ride in the rain, the water will flow into the helmet and on your head, draining it completely. the taping wont help against that. if you have to do such mods even taping the side of the visor i would suggest buying a different better quality helmet.

I have always had this sad theory If you crash at over 100 you are probably dead which ever helmet you have as your body can not stand such impacts If you crash at 40 then I gues my 150 helmet will do the trick because even they are rated ??
So if you have loads and loads of money or perhaps stupid go for the big makes/names If you do not have a lot of money like me go for the best one you can afford Does that make sense ????????????Or am I geting old and grummpy/insane ?????????????

I bought that helmet in 2019 (L size) and declared weight is 1550+-50 grams, and in fact I measured it at 1645 grams. Very heavy after long rides. The good thing is that mine has double D. Indeed it is comfortable inside, but maybe because of the weight repartition it is tiring after 2-3 hours of ride. i.imgur.com/eF2x1gI.jpg i.imgur.com/oe8BW6E.jpg
