If you supported SF5 during it's life-cycle, then this would NOT have taken you by surprise. Capcom mostly fucked us Day 1 SF5 players. Most fans then praised Crapcom for pandering with those 4th and 5th season characters and changes, which I completely hated. This is predominantly why I skipped SF6. I've also skipped the last 2 Mortal Kombats due to woke pandering and mobile-style game-design. I DID buy Tekken 8 and it's post-release, cash shop is a back spinkick to the nuts 👎👎
On an aesthetic note, SF6 had some dramatic redesigns and changes in art style from all the other Street Fighter games. The changes aren't for everyone to say the least. Tekken 8 looks like a more advanced version of Tekken 7 with all the returning characters coming back mostly better than ever. Fans of the series can feel right at home with Tekken 8 right away but fans of SF had a lot to get used to from SF6.
The thing with Tekken is that it was one of the first 3D fighting games and, while some characters did look kind of stylized in earlier games, that meant that the characters look more natural in a realistic rendering. On the other hand, Street Fighter debuted as a sprite-based game and had a more anime/cartoony look and some of their designs don't translate well into a more realistic style
@@pablocasas5906 I think that is more to do with the trend that 3D games have gone with than what they could have done. Pixar, Dreamworks, Illumination, etc do nothing but cartoon animation and Mario games have transitioned quite faithfully to 3D afterall. Tekken in particular took a lot of inspiration from Virtua Fighter which strove for the highest degree of realism. The series simply iterated from there.
@@mkeonineeither you play on low budget equipment or you play blind faithfully. There’s a massive difference within look and style in Tekken 8 compared to Tekken 7
tekken has alwaus been like that, street fighter changes with every game, tekken is more of an update than a real change also, tekken is harder to learn competetively but its more casual friendly SF is harder fot casuals evem with modern controls its 2 different games that cannot be compared to each other
And not having staple characters in the base roster... Akuma only dropping in a few days. In the next SF, we'll have Ryu as a DLC character. Same for Tekken, no Heihachi, no armor king, no Bruce, Eddy as DLC...
Primal Fury/extreme are the best fighting games and way ahead of it's time. Bakuryu was a boss, both Shenlong and his brother were amazing, but Shiva was my love
In Street Fighter 6 you can purchase costume 2 for each character with money, same as the costume 3, but the difference is, the Costume 2 you can actually get 4free with the World Tour mode, you simply have to get the bond level of the Master on max level, and you get costume 2 for free
@TheGOAT-hj6slidk how you can say the art style of SF6 is lame. I have way more hours in Tekken too before you call my a fanboy. Only reason graphics are lacking is because they made it for previous gen consoles
I never played Tekken in any meaningful capacity before, but I tried the demo on a whim and got hooked. Now I'm at Vanquisher! I loved SF4 and MVC3 back in the day and meant to commit to SF6 but never got around to it.
@@inksword6029yea. As i predicted when Tekken released, once the honeymoon phase ended that SF6 would be the winner in terms of playerbase in the long run, and that has already proven true. SF6 is just a fresher experience than Tekken 8, plus the world tour and battlehub really drew in alot of extra gamers that dont generally play fighting games. Maybe some things about gameplay ppl prefer in older SFs and what have you, and yes the monetization is lame....but still, as an overall package SF6 is the best fighting game of all time

@@fiedermanngergely4962 where are the numbers for that? I took longer to find matches with cross play on Tekken (with terrible net code) compared to Street Fighter 6, I play in Europe, even then, most competitive players play on PC as far as I know, before crossplay PC players were known to be better compared to console, along with differences between servers with Japan almost always being the best
@@b3nt0tI don't think you watched the video. He only said that the beginning sales numbers favored Tekken but didn't say anything after that about which was more popular. But I will tell you that Tekken is clearly more popular and should be
I still prefer Street fighter simple for the gameplay, but Tekken is cool too. I played hundreds of hours of Street Fighter over the 6 months it was out before Tekken, and got burnt out, so Tekken is just a new thing for me to waste time on.
Lol tekken for mature players... Most of them rage quit during matches or don't rematch. Typical kid behavior. I went back to Sf6 after T8 and man does the lobbies feel nicer, people actually talk there instead of dead chibi world no one cares about because everyone is in training. You can play several characters at the same time in Sf6 because it's easy to get into, while in tekken there's so many moves you just play one. Trying to play a side character feels like a waste of time. I stopped Sf6 for almost a year and I feel like I didn't forget much and matches have been more fun and chill than in Tekken where you only play versus broken characters like Lilly, dragunov, eddy, the Chinese guy, Xiao Ling and a few others I probably missed. By the time you master the basics in Tekken (movement, defense, how to get up, how to break throws... with one character) you probably could have played all Sf6 characters in ranked while having fun. Labbing is not what I call fun in a fighting game.
I've been playing Tekken 8 for a month, I haven't touched SF6, still SF6 netcode is superior I already know I will comeback to the game once Ed launches
Currently popular tournaments SF6 capcom Cup,red bull Kumite, ceo,UFA,SF league, world league, the prize money 2 million what tekken or mk1 has offered nothing 😂
@@ResidentNotEvil5If there needs to be a large prize pot to get people to play a game, does that not actually reflect poorly on its quality. Being paid to play it!?

A buddy of mine works at BN (coordinator for the marketing team). He told me that they knew the game would do well, but not as well as it did right now. They were afraid with not many next gen consoles being available they would take time to make more sales (3 million copies in 6 months I think was their goal). That said, Max possibly hit the hammer on the nail perfectly, sf6 had to bring back players after they didn’t like 5/MVC:I. Tekken had to prove itself after TTT2. 7’s player base grew over time (had a pc port) and translated over to 8. Either way, loving T8 right now, but want to spend some time on SF6 when I have more time. ❤

Clicked on the video to post the same thing. I took a break from fighting games for FF7 Rebirth and picked SF6 back up for the Akuma and balance update and I'm having a blast. Tekken killed my interest with the weak sauce character lineup for season 1 and awful ranking system.
At first I hated tekken coming from a mk player I didn’t like how hard it is to do a move I hated how hard every character was. But decided to stay a bit it’s bin 5 days and now I’m having a time of my life I love playing Jin and its just so fun I might go to kazuya once i master Jin Btw I play every mk game and never touch tekken before lol
I'd prefer Tekken X Street Fighter. I would love to see what the other Street Fighter characters could do in the Tekken 3D engine, especially with Tag.
Capcom still has some differences that needs to be settled with SNK and then, let Tekken X SF happen. CVS3 shifting to Tekken X SF should be in 1 universe; Geese did try to take over Mishima Zaibatsu business territory

All current fighting games NEED to STOP snubbing the legacy community. SamSho and KoF15 have some horrible dlc selections. Steam chart says that SF6 has more recent players than Tekken 8. It could largely be because we're coming off the Capcom Cup hype, but it's still something that needs to be said
I don't get it. Steam charts say SF6 has like 2x the regular online population, despite being the older game, why are we talking about Tekken 8 "destroying" SF6?
Hi TopHatGamingMan, any thoughts on tekken 8's fallen player count on steam? Last I check tekken 8 has 30% less player than SF6 on steam for the past 24 hours with no major update going on for both games. Is tekken 8 in trouble?
TO BE FAIR Both games are dam good I've only been able to try the demo for Tekken 8; but I've played (nearly) all of them, since Tekken 1 - & Tekken 8 does not disappoint - like every entry in Tekken; a series that continues to evolve, improve, & most importantly, builds on what has When you have something good; You don't cut corners, you don't water it down, you don't strip out the good stuff - you build on it But there's something about Street Fighter 6; that scratches a particular itch - that I hope Tekken 8 scratches; like its previous entries - the fighting What I loved most, about say; Tekken 5, was this 1 Mode, where you fight 1 CPU Opponent after the next, going through Ranks like Kyu & Dan In Street Fighter 6, World Tour; this Mode is dangerously addictive - with its grindy RPG mechanics, & ability to fight... Pretty much everyone (& everything; including roombas), Similar to Yakuza & Like a Dragon Another example; Virtua Fighter 4; Kumite Mode. Soul Calibur 5 - this uh, Mode; Where you fought randomly made Characters, from everyone's Create a Soul Now - what gave these fighting games such replay value, to me? What 1 feature; was the most satisfying? The fighting. The fighting itself - which you could do, back to back, almost nonstop It's like Free Hunt; in Monster Hunter, or the Guiding Lands in Monster Hunter World - where you just hunt, to your heart's content Simply just being able to fight, With as little down time between fights, in this way, made a game like Street Fighter 6, a new favorite; the fighting - as much as I want, until I've had my fill
Both games are great. But SF6 is ALL TIME GREAT! But Tekken’s aesthetics have always had greater appealed than SF6. Same goes for the controls. Casuals do not like circle fighters (pad input special fighters). How do I know this? Several casuals gamers have told me and I’ve seen this statement online for years. Most casual are not going to buy a stick and just use a controller. There’s a reason why Mortal Kombat has been the king of fighting game sales. The aesthetic is unmatched and the is essentially the only 2D fighter to use the limb controls similar to Tekken. With all that being said. Tekken 8 is great. But SF6 an All Time Great game. Tekken 8 isn’t on that level. And that’s coming from someone who prefers Tekken, but you’d be lying to say SF6 isn’t the greater game, it just does so much!
Why is it always got to be a competition? Why do these TH-cam channels always have to breed some sort of controversy.. I always dislike the channels that do this.
"In today's video, we explore why Tekken 8 is more popular than Street Fighter 6 with this not looking like it will change any time soon." already changed, tekken 8 losing popularity and having worse numbers than sf6, sad lol
Nope. Been playing Tekken for almost 30 years. This game is censored, massively simplified, and will have a paid MTX shop added soon. You think all this nonsense = a 10!? 🙄👉🤡
@@TexasHollowEarth I'm inclined to agree ttg2 did it best imo. The biggest reason why it would poorly was because it released way too soon. It released at the peak of sf4. Alot of other games bit the dust as well at the time ggsign kof13
As a big SF fan, I've been following you for quite some time but now you've earned yourself a sub for not dxck riding sf6. 😏It absolutely has great netcode and more options than any other sf, but it never felt like real Street Fighter to me and I agree with your recent, more critical vids (Ed anyone? lol). It takes balls to take such a less popular stand but you always come across as a sincere guy and I like how you present your arguments. Keep it true! 😑👍
Yup. I don't like SF3 either. Animation + Chun-Li look really good, but the roster is a gaggle of dorks + despite running on superior CPS3 hardware, there's no line-scrolling which was in EVERY iteration of SF2!? SF3 + SF6 are overrated trash. Clowns just jumped on that 2014 Daigo/Wong parry shit video, bandwagon 💀
@@MansMan42069 So you disagree that changing elements like roster, music, colors, effects, atmosphere, social/cultural adaptions etc. can influence someone's core experience with a game? That's fxcking weird man. It may be real sf to whole generations but that won't change my opinion.
I like both for different reasons. Kinda hard for me to judge who is better until the honeymoon period is over for both. God bless and Jesus loves you, my guy.
Tekken 8 story is far superior. First you play as a main character not a created bullshit character. Two the end of Tekken 8 is satisfying, while SF6 end is a fucking insult, even the Villain pointed out the case.
Dude really said a lot without saying anything. This could've been a 3 minute video describing the features of both games cause this is really not a comparison video and doesn't even touch why Tekken 8 is more popular
I disagree. I own both. My problem with tekken is… they added “supers” and super armored attacks, rendering unblockables kinda useless. 10hit combo per character…Reducing the moves of characters as well is… bittersweet. Now tekken has more characters, but I feel street fighters players are more fleshed out. Both fun though. But gameplay wise I’m going sf6. Yet the dlc has yet to complete for one, and start for the other franchise. So that will matter, as well as balance updates.
Coming back to this video, how much Street Fighter 6 actually took it from Tekken 8. The more you play Tekken 8 the more you realize that it’s braindead and for newbies.
Tekken 8 has like half the peak player count of SF6 and is only hitting a few thousand more 24 hour peak despite SF6 being out like 9 months longer. After the same time period in SF6 (one month) as Tekken 8 it still averaged 39k+ players per day, almost twice that of Tekken is right now (on Steam)
but tekken8 will sell more! and tekken8 didn't release on ps4 and requares higher specs so thit whole conversation is useless! and tekken won't drop off just like tk7
well this isn't true! tk8 peaked at 50k players and sf6 peaked at 70k. and tekken8 didn't release on ps4 and is more expensive and so many pcs cant handle but the game still managed to sell more than sf6. the title is a clickbait but tk8 doesn't do worse than sf6 at the very least its going head to head with it.tekken wont loose any players going forward just like tk7
Honestly outside of the original Street Fighter 2 series,Alpha, STF 3 series, Capcom vs Snk and Marvel vs Capcom are really good. I haven't liked Street Fighter since 4 came out.
Very unpopular opinion apparently but I got sf6 at launch and was disappointed with the lack of characters and world tour just did not interest me for too long then I went back to play mode and got bored quick and never returned. My problem was just the extreme lack of characters and stages and I’m not a multiplayer gamer so It’s just not for me.
World tour is a far more robust offline mode than Tekken's story mode and arcade quest I've sunk nearly 70 hours into it. Super ghost battle though is just the kind of continuous mode I like to grind and it's much more fun with the ghosts putting up more resistance. SF6's biggest issue though is the stubborn refusal to do any character balancing for 9 months despite the meta being clear. The crowd at Capcom cup popped when Lily showed up for one match in group stages because she's rarely seen and in need of help. The game would have retained players a lot better if they had reigned in the likes of Luke, Ken, JP and Dee Jay and helped the weaker characters.
I dont understand this video theyre fighting games but the gameplay is so different from one another. some days i play street fighter some days tekken. this video makes it seem like tekken is easy to get into haha, i have a few thousand matches on tekken 7 and a few hundred on tekken 8 and i will tell you Tekken at high levels is much harder than Street Fighter there is so much more to worry about
The truth of the matter, is that both sf6 n T8 r excellent fighting games. It was very much possible for both these games to end up like mk1 but unlike nrs both capcom and namco took criticism of their previous games to heart. It is true that T8 is the better saler but sales r not indicator whether a game is good or not, just if its commercially viable. If sales determine if a game is good then fortnite is superior to both these games and mk1 is a good fighting game.
T8 is a great game but to say its destroying SF6 is delusional. the launch is objectively worse than SF6. Peak player count on steam: SF6- 70,000 T8- 50,000 Peak twitch viewers: SF6- 330,000 T8- 118,000 current players: SF6 24hr peak- 21,300 ( after like 9 months) T8 24hr peak- 21,600 ( after 1 month) If you want to argue T8 had a bigger launch because of sales then we would have to say MK was much better than both, which is obviously not true.
The truth is that for every Juri we get, we get 5 or 6 characters that we either don't care about or outright hate. SF has way too many gimmick characters that we don't care about while tekken keeps giving us straight up murders. even sf6 is loaded with very forgettable characters that are rehashes of better versions (looking at you lily, kimberly, and manon) and all the DLCs so far feel like they should have came with the game with none of them hitting the nostalgia ( rashid and ed) give us haggar already capcom, what about gun lock form saturday night slam masters (it was awesome to get hugo) just my two cents
I understand where you coming from on SF6 characters. Half of the roster are legacy characters, and out of the new characters, only Jamie felt like someone that doesn't play like anyone else in the series.
@@aledantih6524I was a huge Bruce fan so naturally played josie in Tekken 7. Before that Bryan. Tekken suffers from a different problem to SF too many characters. Move lists are around 100-130 for each character. Some characters don’t get enough play because even though they are fun they are not very effective so people don’t play them. When Tekken retires a character they some times combine two characters moves or adapt key moves or even split moves amongst two characters prime example is Bruce, Bryan and Josie. None of them feel or play like Bruce they all have a unique style and look and their own playstyle. In Tekken 8 all the OG characters have been reworked. The heat system also makes a big difference in how some OG’s play. Hwoarang in heat is a beast. Bottom line Tekken and street fighter have different design philosophies I appreciate both. Tekken due to number of moves gives more variety in my opinion which leads to more options even if once the optimal stuff is discovered some of those are no longer used. Street fighter will never have a character as crazy as Yoshi the 2D playstyle will not allow it. At the end of the day I want both franchises to succeed as competition breeds innovation. Luckily we can be fans of both.
@@jjrilla___2664 I agree with you tekken does have a lot clones and the move list issue is insane both have issues I fell SF aren’t very major but with a small roster you wanted substance over size and they do feel repetitive except for Jamie
The simple truth is all of the “new” stuff Street Fighter 6 has done is just crap I don’t care about. I don’t like the new characters. JP is NO M. Bison. World Tour Mode is boring and has nothing to do with Street Fighter, accept some forced interaction with Street Fighter characters. The “Modern Controls” are annoying and a joke. The micro-transactions are not worth it beyond new characters or some of the outfits. The Story Mode is too short. There still is no real Arcade Mode… need I go on? The meat is there, but no potatoes. Street Fighter 6 is practically a repeat of Street Fighter V. I’m betting it will get better and more refined, but there is a lot of garbage to sift through. And why the hell do I have to actively change to Classic Controls every time I boot up the game?! I never have, and never will use the “Modern Controls.” Tekken 8 launched as a much more solid package that focused on what has always made Tekken great. There are plenty of old characters to play, while the new ones are all actually good. There are no simplified controls to appeal to a demographic of people who will never play these games, anyway. There is customization of characters, a story we actually care about, a fun arcade experience that is all about Tekken 8, and a boss who is a challenge to beat that we know and love/hate. Street Fighter IV was far superior to V and 6. It just focused on the fundamentals of the Street Fighter universe without all the worthless fluff. If Capcom goes back to that, we may have something to live in Street Fighter 6. Until then, Tekken 8 will reign supreme. … And all this is coming from a true Street Fighter Fanboy! Seriously, Capcom. Step up your game!
A buddy of mine whose not in to these games normally always favored Tekken over Sf. I think part of it is characters, ease of play, and story. Same buddy got really tempted to get a stick just cause of Tekken. Sf6 on a lore or story perspective, nothing really kept me personally hooked aside from why does Ken look homeless, only to find out not much moved on that story beat. Simply put, on the casual side of thing I think Tekken 8 has more stuff to offer meaning more chances for those casuals to be converted to invested players.
I think Tekken 8 looks better than Street Fighter 6 (not talking about avatars since both look awful). I do play 2D games like Guilty Gear. I don't care enough to play Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 has a lot of good out. I do prefer other games but I rather play Tekken 8. I wish Virtua Fighter was on PC and that Dead or Alive and Soul Calibur wasn't dead by their respective companies.
This video is a good reminder that bells and whistles are important in modern games. Even the most dedicated fan will get tired and need a break from the main game mode.
New to Tekken at a more competitive level but I'm a long-time 2D fighting gamer. I dabbled with Tekken when I was younger as it was just a cool title to have with all the features and cutscenes. Now I switched over to T8 as my main game as the 3D fighting just feels more fluid and intuitive for me. Also it's much easier to pick up an alternate character in Tekken compared to SF, as chars same some universal traits.
@blairwich1935 They play differently yes cause that's part of their personality per character, But universal rules like, Counter Hit low to launch, 10 frame generic Jab that gives plus frames, Crouch Jab that gives you a turn, 15 Frame Punishers that Launch, and the Low Mid High game is still the fundamental of tekken. Not only that, Each character has their noticeable weaknesses which makes matchups more interesting. In a fundamental level every character is similar yet different cause T8 did their hardest to establish the character's personality and uniqueness through their playstyle.
Your logic is flawed. By comp, MK sells more than both games. So does that make MK the best fighting game? No, Tekken has always been more popular with causal fanbase due to the single player content and the easiest to hop in and button mash for wins.
I've played both series since the 90's and while I like both, I do see the appeal of Tekken for new players. Tekken has always been an easy to play game for beginners since you don't have to do unfamiliar joystick motions (qc, dp, etc) and you can pretty much do a lot by just tapping/mashing. It's easy to get into, though hard to master.
Clickbait sf6 isnt losing to anything. Tekken 8 however is incredible and im enjoying every minute of it...along with the ed patch that just came out for sf6 😁
Tekken Director help a fan keep his deceased brothers game data. Street Fighter Director fired a staff member for having a different political view. F.SF:6
Capcom does it to themselves. Releasing Street Fighter 5 at full price with basically 25% of what it would eventually contain was foolish & insulting. If this was possible back in the 16 & 32 bit days, it wouldn't have been surprising if Capcom did this with Street Fighter. Instead they did the next best thing they could do. Made complete games at full price, then released a revised version with minor gameplay tweaks & some new characters also for full price. Can't forget they did the same thing with Street Fighter 4 & all its "sequels" too. I didn't even bother with SF 5 until it became much more affordable & had all of the content. It's a very good game but for me personally, it falls behind SF 2, SF 4 & SF 3 (in that order) in terms of gameplay & enjoyment. Haven't played 6 yet & if I do purchase it, won't be until like 5 it has all its updates, tweaks & content on offer & of course nowhere near the launch price.
I don't care about popularity, SF6 is much better than tekken 8. Tekken 8 it's just tekken 7 with a rebrand and minor changes. Also, the heat system sucks, rage art sucks, the community sucks, there are too many flashy effects and unnecesary particles floating in the screen, I can't stand this, it is too much bad taste in terms of game design, I won't waste my money with this garbage, I have tekken 7, no need to buy the same game again.
I'm of the opinion that companies should learn from each other and there are extra modes that should ALWAYS be available in EVERY fighting game besides Arcade, Story (at some point there was a split and it became the norm now), and Training. - Time Attack (Arcade with a time goal, the faster we beat, the higher the score) - Survival (Arcade with one life) - Dramatic Battle (from SFA3) - R. Dramatic Battle (SFA3) - Trials - Challenges (from SFxT, like can only win the round with 3+ hit combos, only EX does damage, etc) - Ghost Battle (Tekken 4 onwards I believe, where we fight AI ghosts of people we met online in an endless arcade and we could farm ext or the game's currency) - Shadow Battle (DLC inspired from vanilla MvC3 where an improved version would be to pay for the AI ghost of PRO PLAYERS, not everybody can go to EVO so I would have gladly payed to play Daigo's Ryu, Daigo's Guile, Problem X's Bison etc and they'd get a commission of course) - "Boss Rush" (using SFV as an example, it would have been Sagat (SF1), Shin.Bison (SF0), Shin Akuma (SF2), Seth (USF4), Max Presidentiality G and Triggered Necalli (SFV), Urien and Omega Gill (SF3) - exclusive modes per game, SFV for example should have had a "SHADALOO SURVIVAL" ( Grunt soldiers (bronze, silver, gold), then the Dolls, then 4 kings)
& stop trolling the community with this "The King Of Fighters" attachment to 1 of these Games. There's only one King Of Fighters & the company you hate, SNK makes it.
the discussion about which one is the best makes no sense for me, one is a 2d fighting game the other is a 3d, maybe for casual players tekken is and has always been more attractive since its way easier to just "mash buttons", but more new players go high in ranks more they will need to learn advanced movement (korean backdash), more high execution combos and whiff punishes. Both games are really good and cant be compared since the difference between 2d and 3d fighting games is massive outside of beginners level, just the speed of the games are different if you consider the fastest attack in tekken (jab) is usually 10 frames of startup, one-sixth of a second (i didnt play tekken 8 but i think they didnt change that) and In Sf jabs are usually 3 frames of startup (3 times faster), it makes you understand how different those games are. I always thought it was funny how casual players keep trying to push one game over another as "the superior fighting game" while most people who are into fighting games usually likes both games cause they are so different, its like trying to compare dragonball fighterZ with smash, one is a platform fighter and the other is a tag team anime fighter, they are not even in the same subgenre of fighting games.
Yeah, this kind of title is mean, and makes no sense. I'm glad to see we are a lot of people pointing this dumb competition. It's like we can't even just appreciate the games for what they offer anymore.
Never really liked street fighter much, but always loved tekken. Started playing it since the tekken 2 era and was one of my main reasons to get a Playstation, not to mention it was the first Playstation game I've ever played.
14:23 Just a quick passage of transparency here: I have not yet seen just how good *Tekken 8* actually is. To be certain, I can see how epically driving the narrative is for the game, so I have yet to look into this for myself. That being said, from my observation of its trailer, Tekken 8's narrative does seem a bit more *dull* to me, what given exactly how threatening Kazuya Mishima seems to be once again, though I am absolutely sure I will see for myself how the story ends. However, especially in this case, I would like to argue one thing in defense of *Street Fighter 6:* we are only a few days close towards *Capcom's* release of DLC for Akuma [ (悪魔) Gouki, 豪鬼]. At this point..., who knows what has become of this Raging Demon? *Maybe he has trained to advance in quicker development of his fighting skills and overall strength than before;* JUST...YOU...WAIT...!
This is a really damn good assessment. I agree. Tekken always provided more to the player ever since Tekken 3. A Tekken player can comfortable play a beginner and vice versa. A SF player can't really do that outside of SF6. The story is always way better than Street Fighter. Tekken has a long history that follows all the way back to the first Tekken with the Mishimas. Street Fighter's narrative (especially it's timeline) is all over the place.
Sf6 characters have way more diversity and personality and facial expressions, tekken8 roster sounds great but don't really care for any of them and they feel like a bland and miss matched bunch in comparison
Scrapping the bottom of the barrel. It's not a serious issue. And the biggest reason for SF6 is affected by SFV which really burnt bridges. We have seen many examples of such cases where a company that burns bridges with its fanbase can struggle to get sales for the next game. SF6 still managed to sell immensely well despite which shows how much all out the developers went for this game. So imagine how much better it would sell if SFV didn't happen. But then again, the developers would never get the kick needed to make SF6. Now Tekken 8 was considered better near launch but that was because it was in its honeymoon phase. With that ending SF6 is clearly superior on game performance alone and a better online experience. The drive system is clearly superior to the heat system because it is an earned system unlike the heat system which is unearned and therefore a cheesy panic button. Overall, a poorly researched topic, meant for clicks. He didn't even consider that the 2D fighting market is saturated while the 3D market is free for the taking.
For me the stale story content in story mode on SF6 killed interest for me. Also really dislike those powerpoint endings in arcade mode. Tekken 8 at least tries to move the story forward and offers an actual story ending
The fact that Street Fighter and Tekken are the two games in this conversation makes me proud as a fan of both. The fundamentals of both games hold steady and both are exciting to watch and play. FGC is 💪🏾
Glad all fans have options I prefer SF6 for the solo content my life is hard I enjoy my games manageable lol and to stay offline with them....but this is ME not you if you like Tekken then excellent glad you have a fighting game for you also the SF6 dlc is a joke but lucky we don't have to support that trash I enjoy the variety we have in the genre at the moment...we can all be happy

TO BE FAIR
Both games are dam good
I've only been able to try the demo for Tekken 8; but I've played (nearly) all of them, since Tekken 1 - & Tekken 8 does not disappoint - like every entry in Tekken; a series that continues to evolve, improve, & most importantly, builds on what has
When you have something good;
You don't cut corners, you don't water it down, you don't strip out the good stuff - you build on it
But there's something about Street Fighter 6; that scratches a particular itch - that I hope Tekken 8 scratches; like its previous entries - the fighting
What I loved most, about say; Tekken 5, was this 1 Mode, where you fight 1 CPU Opponent after the next, going through Ranks like Kyu & Dan
In Street Fighter 6, World Tour; this Mode is dangerously addictive - with its grindy RPG mechanics, & ability to fight...
Pretty much everyone (& everything; including roombas),
Similar to Yakuza & Like a Dragon
Another example;
Virtua Fighter 4; Kumite Mode.
Soul Calibur 5 - this uh, Mode;
Where you fought randomly made Characters, from everyone's Create a Soul
Now - what gave these fighting games such replay value, to me?
What 1 feature; was the most satisfying? The fighting. The fighting itself - which you could do, back to back, almost nonstop
It's like Free Hunt; in Monster Hunter, or the Guiding Lands in Monster Hunter World - where you just hunt, to your heart's content
Simply just being able to fight,
With as little down time between fights, in this way, made a game like Street Fighter 6, a new favorite; the fighting - as much as I want, until I've had my fill
if tekken were better than street fighter why dose street fighter have 4x the players
But Tekken isn't destroying SF6
So how is the microtransactions now in tekken 8? I heard a lot of fans crying right now.😂

Lets be real, nobody plays these games for solo content
@@AIONBERSERKERwrong, a lot of players actually do.
I dont understand this video theyre fighting games but the gameplay is so different from one another. some days i play street fighter some days tekken. this video makes it seem like tekken is easy to get into haha, i have a few thousand matches on tekken 7 and a few hundred on tekken 8 and i will tell you Tekken at high levels is much harder than Street Fighter there is so much more to worry about
I enjoyed SF6, mainly the World Tour mode, but felt buyer's regret after that
I was disappointed with World Tour mode. Very repetitive and bad AI. Tekken 8’s ghost battle is just amazing.
This aged like milk
The truth of the matter, is that both sf6 n T8 r excellent fighting games. It was very much possible for both these games to end up like mk1 but unlike nrs both capcom and namco took criticism of their previous games to heart. It is true that T8 is the better saler but sales r not indicator whether a game is good or not, just if its commercially viable. If sales determine if a game is good then fortnite is superior to both these games and mk1 is a good fighting game.
T8 is a great game but to say its destroying SF6 is delusional. the launch is objectively worse than SF6.
Peak player count on steam:
SF6- 70,000
T8- 50,000
Peak twitch viewers:
SF6- 330,000
T8- 118,000
current players:
SF6 24hr peak- 21,300 ( after like 9 months)
T8 24hr peak- 21,600 ( after 1 month)
If you want to argue T8 had a bigger launch because of sales then we would have to say MK was much better than both, which is obviously not true.
1 month and didn't age well lol
more like they destroy mk1 rather than sf6
Nope both. Tekken going to outsell sf6 in few weeks . Already over 2mill.
A zangief vs haggar match would be awesome do it now capcom
@@jjrilla___2664 I agree with you tekken does have a lot clones and the move list issue is insane both have issues I fell SF aren’t very major but with a small roster you wanted substance over size and they do feel repetitive except for Jamie
One has missed plotential, the other is the last one, but better. Can you guess which is which?
I can tell which one you played
@@TheOutlawed1000 I can tell what it’s not: either…at least not yet
I love Tekken 8 for actually having a evil looking Final villain sf6 don't have a evil looking villain hardly even has a villain after M.Bison passing
I never have, and never will use the “Modern Controls.”
Tekken 8 launched as a much more solid package that focused on what has always made Tekken great.
Street Fighter 6 each character have a serious dark story and Tekken 8 each character kind become a comedy if you ask me😁
This man hate Street fighter...
Crazy cause his whole channel thrives off of it. He's just mad because he has a lot of bad takes on this genre and wants to collect clout.
I don't think there's a channel that I disliked as many videos as this one.
Really? This confuses me as Tekken characters all "act" so different.
If by do a lot you mean staying stuck in the lowest ranks then yes, it is easy.
@@edgelord121 Thing is, majority of fighting game players are in the low ranks, and they're mostly just casual players looking for fun.
- Time Attack (Arcade with a time goal, the faster we beat, the higher the score)
- Survival (Arcade with one life)
- Dramatic Battle (from SFA3)
- R. Dramatic Battle (SFA3)
- Trials
- Challenges (from SFxT, like can only win the round with 3+ hit combos, only EX does damage, etc)
- Ghost Battle (Tekken 4 onwards I believe, where we fight AI ghosts of people we met online in an endless arcade and we could farm ext or the game's currency)
- Shadow Battle (DLC inspired from vanilla MvC3 where an improved version would be to pay for the AI ghost of PRO PLAYERS, not everybody can go to EVO so I would have gladly payed to play Daigo's Ryu, Daigo's Guile, Problem X's Bison etc and they'd get a commission of course)
- "Boss Rush" (using SFV as an example, it would have been Sagat (SF1), Shin.Bison (SF0), Shin Akuma (SF2), Seth (USF4), Max Presidentiality G and Triggered Necalli (SFV), Urien and Omega Gill (SF3)
- exclusive modes per game, SFV for example should have had a "SHADALOO SURVIVAL" ( Grunt soldiers (bronze, silver, gold), then the Dolls, then 4 kings)
It is like comparing Basketball to Soccer.
You might have a preference, but to say one is better than the other is just weird 😂
Tons of people are playing both. Also, competition is GOOD.
I guess Namco did the "going all out" first before DLC, unlike Capcom who's doing the DLC first. Well, time for Kazuya throw Ryu off a cliff.
......This didn't age well lol smh

Just a quick passage of transparency here: I have not yet seen just how good *Tekken 8* actually is.
Well... Tekken has always been more popular in the UK then it is in the US
YALL GO CHECK THE STEAM NUMBERS FOR BOTH GAMES JUST TO SEE HOW MUCH OF A CLICK BAIT VIDEO THIS IS SMFH
