When Bron was in his prime, he would get his numbers while still doing all the little things that don’t show up in the box score. Nowadays, he gets his numbers at the EXPENSE of the little things.
Bron no longer runs back on defense consistently. He refuses to provide help coverage. He doesn’t box out or hustle. Bron often holds the ball to pace himself but doing so hurts the offensive flow.
This is why Bron’s numbers don’t translate to victories at the rate that they used to. His playstyle is no longer pure winning basketball because his stats are coming at the expense of defense, hustle, & playing with pace.

And it's been this way for the past few years now. Been saying it all the time. People look at his stats only but don't see the times he slacks on defense or doesn't hustle down the court when needed too. Also, the roster is the way it is because of LeBron. Not saying he's the only one to blame but he deserves some blame as does the front office and Jeanie.

I recall everyone saying after 2020 that LeBron should no longer be expected to guard opposing small forwards and instead he should be a power forward. If that’s the case, where does another big fit in? Lebron can’t stay with guards defensively and most small forwards are also quicker than him. If Lebron and AD are playing roughly 35 minutes each, how many minutes does that leave for another big especially if Rui is considered a big?
When the Lakers won the championship Javale and Dwight split the center minutes until the last 6 minutes of the game. AD was the power forward and Kuzma filled some of those minutes until Morris was signed. However the narrative became that AD was better as center. That’s when everyone complained that Rob had too many bigs and not enough guards and wings. Now everyone is complaining that we need more bigs. It seems like Rob will be blamed regardless. 😂

Lebron literally offered to take a paycut if Rob could sign a player legit solid value this off-season, and he couldn't. ALL the legit players signed elsewhere, it was either overpay for a player that might barely crack the rotation like Gabe Vincent or pay Lebron. Why should Lebron who plays most of the game, take a paycut over a guy who'd probably be sitting the bench most of time?🤔 Lakers could have like $20 million extra dollars, if they weren't overpaying for role players that hardly even play🤷‍♂️

Keeping it positive: We reached the conference finals just two years ago with the not-so-revered Ham, and Lebron was a DND for large swaths of the regular season. We're a trade with Utah and maybe one other team away from shoring things up. If Utah comes off the two 1st's for Kessler, and we can grab Kessler and Sexton while keeping one of our 1st's, maybe we can go out and get another stud with the unspent 1st, and unload riffraff in the process. It's not impossible. Once established, put 'Bron on restricted minutes so he doesn't keep heading into the playoffs dead on his feet; as Keith suggested, pick your spots to get him games off that yield the most DAYS off (great observation). Yes, our failure in the off season to acquire talent has hurt us badly, but it could be a blessing in disguise if it yields an even greater bounty later this month.

Lebron needs to take a pay cut and open up cap space allowing the Lakers to qualify for bigger talent acquisition!
He's 40 and already has taken 22 seasons of 10's of millions of dollars with massive $50 million a year contracts.
The guy is worth more than $1 Billion dollars! He could not spend that amount of money in 100 lifetimes.
If he wants to win in the next couple years take a minimum salary and allow the team to acquire massive talent going forward!

    1. Reduce Lebron's ball handling duties drastically. (A) He slows down the game too much. (B) it will help conserve his energy for the 4th quarter if needed.
    2. Create more setup plays for Knecht. He is a potential weapon that shouldnt be wasted.
    3. JJ should learn to play another "big" with AD on court. It helps lighten the load on AD.
    4. The players should learn to cut cut cut! Don't just stand there like manequins.
    5. Maybe it's time to load manage Lebron by making him sit out some games. Dude is a 100 years old and father time is undefeated.

    • @peteranders6893
      @peteranders6893 5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

@@squintso8961 Ingram is a good role player, who's best attribute is his ability to score. He is slow, needs the ball to be effective and doesn't give you much on defense. Lonzo was amazing, but came in with his shot broken then was made an off ball shooter and was then derailed by injuries that will take years to fully get over, if he can. He is being passed up even in Chicago now, although the guy really had it and could have been big for us. Lonzo didn't do anything great in a Lakers uniform. Clarksson was a late bloomer, but without defense he wouldn't be a fit either. Way better than Gabe sure, but I wouldn't bank on him to win anything with his defense. He would have never been that high usage in LA. Josh found his role, but had to fight for every minute. He only really developed once the Lakers let him go and the same will happen with Max imo. D'Lo is a good player. Underrated starter right now. And he is here now. With Randle you got a point. That did bite us in the ass. Kuzma should be way better than he is. Guy spends too much time trying to be a fashion icon and I see him being worth about 15M per year at best. Team USA SF Kuzma was a superstar. But the guy can't put it together. Washington is in complete shambles. Doesn't really matter if Kuzma can put up some good numbers there.
So basically you found solid rotation guys who are almost starters besides D'Lo (who we do have), Lonzo (when healthy) and Randle. Trading for AD with LBJ at the point or as a point forward was the right move. It wasn't moving on from the kids that made this franchise drop in the standings. Not wanting to pay luxury taxes to retain good players was the biggest issue. Caruso was unthinkable. Perhaps the best fit next to an aging LeBron there is besides maybe OGA with full bird rights willing to play for 8M a year for you and you said no thanks? Unfathomable. Zubac? What were they thinking? We got a hurt McGee and Howard and Zubac gets 20/15 on 90% shooting in 25 minutes and you send him away, because he gave his honest opinion about what the team can do better behind closed doors? What? Gave away probably the best young center for a rental shooter? Called KCP inconsistent. Send min vet Rondo packing after he kept every lead by taking time off the clock and still always finding a high percentage shot. He turned around a series by himself in the playoffs with like 12 points, 5 assists and 5 steals in what 4 minutes? Not worth a min vet apparently. Oh and DG had a great defensive season and was crucial as well. He was also cheap and could have done another year. Didn't pay McGee even 4M. Didn't want to keep Howard. Let go off Cook and Daniels, who were automatic buckets in blowouts and played mistake free basketball.
What did the youngsters do that was anywhere near what that 2020 team did?
Even right now as bad as we are. Imagine we traded Rui and two firsts for OGA and had given JHS, Max and Cam to Chicago with a 1st for Caruso. Now GTJ signs with us, too. At that point your only problem is getting rid of Gabe. Right now we should be picking up Herbert Jones for Gabe, sending Lewis to a third team for a 2nd and a 1st.
      D'Lo / Caruso / OGA / LBJ / AD
Reaves / GTJ / Herb Jones / Vanderbilt (Wood) / Hayes (or whoever)
And if the Lakers paid taxes like every other contender is willing to do, you could add KCP over GTJ or as a starter instead of Caruso, McGee and Zubac to that. None of that had anything to do with appeasing LeBron or making AD come to us.
If we had half a brain and knew what a wing was we would be dominating and LBJ would have had like 2 more rings since 2020.
And if you get your wish and we keep those picks and rebuild with JHS and DK we might end up being Detroit. LeBron won't get traded unless he wants to be. I am sure you can still get great value for AD, but for every time a rebuild gives you OKC, 5 other rebuilds give you San Antonio before Wemby or current Washington.
We should be right there. We are still in our window. We could compete right now. We just keep twiddling our thumbs and waiting for no reason. And the fans have the priorities completely backwards with 1. Center 2. PG 3. Let Max play. 4. Keep the picks.
Really it should be: 1. Two starting wings 2. Two starting wings. 3. Two starting wings. 4. F them picks.

I've told Trevor this for years now, but he'll go right ahead and call another PF wing and ask for a big anyway. Should talk less and study lineups more, but he'll never do that apparently and just repeat his same mistakes endlessly just like the Lakers. 😂

Turn Lbj into a scorer by making that his primary responsibility. That way, he plays for about 5 min, with the goal to score. Leave the game for sometime, then return and repeat the process. Let others be playmakers. The reason I think this scenario maybe a pipe dream is bc WE DO NOT HAVE OTHER PLAYMAKERS OUTSIDE OF LBJ. This is why you have been seeing Lbj running the offense much more over the last 7 - 10 games. JJ don't have confidence in REEVES or DLo for that.
