I find it bizarre that JJ mentions how Dalot "doesn't give the same measure of passing as a left back" considering how many other pundits/channels talk about the lethality of a wrong-footed player on the wings able to play dangerous passes once they move in-field. While JJ isn't technically wrong, Amorim's wing-backs aren't* "get to the byline and cross" wingers. They can do that, sure, but they don't need to. @@tomwaitsmencse Have you seen Amad play? That's effectively how Amorim's inverted wing-backs play. Now, Sporting played with a pure wing-back on one side to stretch the pitch, but my response was to JJ's comment about Dalot specifically. Yoro, De Ligt & Martinez are the centre backs (with Mazraoui, Maguire & Shaw as cover), Diallo has nailed one WB position (i see him swapping depending on the opposition) and Bruno looks to have one of the 10 positions as does Ugarte with the defensive CM role. I can see Mainoo being tried as a 10 in Mount's absence and Zirkzee & Garnacho probably playing as both a 10 or 9 when Hojlund is not starting. I'm not sure we will look for anything other than a WB in January unless we sell Rashford and have some more money to spend. Personally, i'd like to see us sign Branthwaite in January as well as a WB so that Martinez can be deployed in CM - either alongside Ugarte or when Ugarte is being rested,. This is like a book report from the kid who needs to talk for 10 minutes but only has 1 minute of words so it's just the same thing over and over. This video is that.
The squad audit seems quite fair, although I'd keep Maguire and Zirkzee, then offload Malacia. I've always felt that the measure of a team and general indicator of being a top 4 team should be that in each position, if you didn't have the squad's current player for a position, would they be in the top 3 transfer targets that you'd want to buy for that position. At the moment I think Man Utd struggle to achieve that anywhere across the pitch so top 4 aspirations are still beyond us with this squad even after bolstering the positions mentioned.
Hello ! I am a SCP supporter and i can tell you you are ignoring a lot of tactical tweaks that RA introduces to the system to adapt to the better characteristics of players. I think Zirkzee can be important as a second striker (like paulinho was for us) in games you need to score, with Hollund. greetings for the show. great suff
Why hasn't there been an Aberdeen episode yet for JJ considering how well they're doing? I've seen the short but has there been a deep dive? Might've made the short up in my head.

Their suggested training schedule at 12:00 even included a European game on a Wednesday, despite United playing in the Europa League.. Thought that wa a bit odd.
How can you say united mostly needed a goal scorer last season? They constantly over performed expected goals. What they really needed is chance creator, that is why Zirkzee was bought and that why he will be important.

Etc etc It would have UCL winners ,league title winners , invinvible , golden boy winner , second most expensive teenager of all time etc etc , the most expensive denmark player of all time , the best ball winning anyways....that squad only cost 200
hahaha sometimes been playing too much fifa. "chemistry". It's not Conahoglu it's Calhanoglu. He's nowhere near mobile enough for the Premier league. Imagine him and Fernandes as the midfield we'd get laughed off the pitch. Davies and Tah clearly aren't coming the England either, it's very obvious where they'll end up. Angel gomes is too little to operate in a premier league midfield 2,and United aren't going to do that thing of bringing a youth reject back to the Premier league, it failed work pogba and Sancho so they won't risk that mistake again. The only good suggestion in there is Jonathan David but if he's on a free then he can take his pick of which of the big clubs he'd like to join.
Bit at the end didn’t really make sense. It’s not about age it’s about matches played. The young players would have 200+ matches under their belt by then. So the prim would be lower like most of football now
None of those players will be sold so it depends on contract length and whether the club can afford to just drop them. Rashford might be good enough to play elsewhere but nobody will pay 350k a week for him.
We're in for a lot of pain in the short term because we simply lack in quality and speed to play the Amorim way. I hate to think what Arsenal and Liverpool might do to us over the next few games. Surely Amorim won't ever play with Eriksen and Casemiro in the same team again. Far too slow in the middle of the park, which makes them too easy to successfully press. We just need to be patient.
Really curious, the number of players the fans voted for in a massive way is exactly 12. Onana; Yoro, De Ligt, Martínez; Amad and Mazraoui; Ugarte and Mainoo; Fernandes and Garnacho; Hojlund. Mount being the 12th and Dalot has a decent percentage, though.
United looked like two different teams against Ipswich. With tired legs of Evans, Casemiro & Eriksen, they got overrun & punished for being brave. When Shaw & Ugarte came on, they averaged 70% of the ball & barely conceded a chance. I actually think that latter part of that game (and the Bodø/Glimt game which this was recorded prior to) were a lot more representative of how this squad can operate under Amorim.
Football is no different to real life...ppl make mistakes. Zirkzee was a mistake. He stood out in Serie A which is so unlike the EPL, it could be a different game. Now that Amorim is the manager, he is even less suited to United's style of play now. Bought for Euro 42.4 Million, he's worth Euro 50 million (both figures Transfermarkt). If Juventus offer us our money back (they're coached by Motta, Zirkzee's old coach at Bologna), i'd take their hand off and invest the money in a position/player we actually need and suit the our style/league we're in. For instance, that Zirkzee money would buy us a Quenda for RWB (Euro 15 million -Transfermarkt, but would cost a lot more than double that)
Tbh, Sporting fan here and idk if Quenda ready for the Prem. However maybe its better to buy a young player that can develop for little money than 50M for someone older that wont grow
@@Lucaz99 You're probably right, he is only 17. United might have to pay 50 million-ish to get him; that might be a step too far for the lad at this moment; big price tag and hyper physical league, a lot to have on his shoulders. Thanks.
@@geir8849 I'm not saying that there isn't a v. good player there, just that he might not be best suited for the EPL. You're right, though,it is early days. With confidence raised, he could play either of the 2 AMs and the '9' at times. Thanks.
@@johndirom8999 I want to see Zirkzee get a start under Amorim. That would be interesting. I think maybe he will play againts Everton, since united play in midweek as well. So let's see.
The comments about players who shouldnt be in the squad epitomize the problem with the club. Just dismissing players as "not good enough for Man Utd" is pointless to say given we are not talking about a team that is elite in any sense
the analysis of Zirkzee is childish... the scorer in this team is clearly Rasmas... Zirkzee is a half 9... so theis hype about goals from a striker is stupid
Surely the athletic are aware that United don’t play on saturdays and wednesdays this year. Would it have not been possible to do a Thursday Sunday schedule ?
Publicly interview managers to take the spot of the manager that is still working and knowing about this, and so do the players. Then to backpedal and cause no more drama, they add 1 more year to the contract of the manager they are already working to fire and switch, spend a bunch more dozens of millions of pounds for players of his choosing and his gamestyle. Then finally fire him and hire a new manager with a totally different system and gameplan and tell him "ok save us. Btw theres no money left for you". Genius
The whole point of getting a striker in the summer makes 0 sense. We lack expected goals not actual goals, we need passing a chance creation in the team. It would be so brainless to get another striker.
Amad is United's future star. He's the best player at the club arguably right now and fast becoming one of the worlds best players I imagine. Zirkzee won't even be at United next season due to lack of pace or anything honestly. Have these people actually watched United recently?
I don't think you went tactically enough into what they should have for lunch... On Monday they should have fish fingers with Baked beans On Tuesday because they're travelling they should have a Continental brunch this might include a miniature box of cereal, fruit, and a muffin, pastry, or bagel but if they need specific dietary requirements they should register them with the airline at least 24 hours before the flight On Wednesday as they're in Romania they should have sarmale with some bulz, etc
Laurie Whitwell is the kind of annoyingly handsome, well kempt, charming, funny, successful kid with perfect hair who I used to hate at school. In fact I still hate him know. But also desperately want him to be my friend.
Just take a look at Sporting and their performances since Amorim left. Just the inverse of what happened to Man Utd. Ten Hag was doing such a great job that an interim gets in and stabilizes a team and the the new coach starts showing improvements in just two games.

This is like a book report from the kid who needs to talk for 10 minutes but only has 1 minute of words so it's just the same thing over and over. This video is that.
Good to see Laurie in one of these
good shoutout to Romania
Football chat with a dash of comedy
I preferred the old Tifo when it was comedy with a dash of football.
Where is Jon?
Joshua Ziirkzee is going to succeed like babatov
Good analysis. Zirkzee had quite the game after this
Fresh trim Joe 🥵
This whole premise is a giant joke! No way in hell Amorim will be at Manchester United in 2 years.
Title should be 'The Weak in football' with Utd in the thumbnail, saying as a utd fan😣
This podcast is better than most stand-up comedy, to be honest.
It is comedy, a complete joke
The squad audit seems quite fair, although I'd keep Maguire and Zirkzee, then offload Malacia. I've always felt that the measure of a team and general indicator of being a top 4 team should be that in each position, if you didn't have the squad's current player for a position, would they be in the top 3 transfer targets that you'd want to buy for that position. At the moment I think Man Utd struggle to achieve that anywhere across the pitch so top 4 aspirations are still beyond us with this squad even after bolstering the positions mentioned.
Youve left out
Harry Amass LWB or LB
Seems we need a little bit of an update post Bodo and Everton...actually, maybe wait until after Arsenal.
Luke shaw has a future at united as a LCB I think
he doesnt cant stay fit
He needs to be sold. Far too injury prone
@@Gruff86990
So who is going to buy him then?
@@OtherSideOfMorning loan him somewhere and see if he stays fit, possibly sell him if manages any sequence of games
@@OtherSideOfMorning Theo Hernandez would be my choice. Grimaldo or even try get Davies??
Hello ! I am a SCP supporter and i can tell you you are ignoring a lot of tactical tweaks that RA introduces to the system to adapt to the better characteristics of players. I think Zirkzee can be important as a second striker (like paulinho was for us) in games you need to score, with Hollund. greetings for the show. great suff
Joe looks like my mate who absolutely hates football
Why hasn't there been an Aberdeen episode yet for JJ considering how well they're doing? I've seen the short but has there been a deep dive? Might've made the short up in my head.
yeah we want an aberdeen video!
I love Laurie but everything needs more Carl!
Laurie is a great addition
Laurie Whitwell is looking more and more like Stan Laurel.
2:16 Disagree with that de ligt is not very fast comment there’s a sprint race between him and Chiesa when he was in juventus and it’s too close to call
Can you guys do an ultimate tactical analysis of cruyff rijkaard and guardiola...i would suggest doing a series of 3 episodes..the effects on current football etc?
"You could swim. That would be the training and the travel together!" This is the kind of quality content that I know only this channel can provide. 😂
Not too worried about the age profile bc guys like Eriksen, Casemiro, Evans, Lindelof contracts are expiring…issue is more to do with generating funds to help combat ffp/psr.
1:40 1:40 1:40
Is ‘Rest Defence’ NOT the ability to control the play to slow it down to recoup and go again.
If it isn’t please tell me it’s not the abbreviation of ‘what’s left of the Rest to defend’ ??? 1:40
I think you should state when this is recorded. Sounds like it was before Thursday's game
Listen and find out 😊
They did at 22:50
how does that change anything?
@juz882010 was expecting input from that game because of when the video was put up but they kept talking about the Ipswich game and some of things they noted in that game were different in Thursday game
This also looks like a hastily put together video making long term predictions based on one match. It's united so they gotta get the clicks i guess
This comment looks like a hastily put together remark making generalized claims based on an internalized irritation at some facet of the discussion, perhaps its topic. No one’s making you watch mate
@Flash4ML rhis response feels like a summary rejection of the critique without engaging on the merits.
No one made you respond to it.
@@Jonnysh this response feels like a disingenuous attempt to give too much credit to the original comment, which contains no evidence to back its critical claims, and therefore has no merits.
You are free to respond if you wish.
Their suggested training schedule at 12:00 even included a European game on a Wednesday, despite United playing in the Europa League.. Thought that wa a bit odd.
@@Flash4ML it was meant as a mirror, so if it read disingenuous then i think my job is done
How can you say united mostly needed a goal scorer last season? They constantly over performed expected goals. What they really needed is chance creator, that is why Zirkzee was bought and that why he will be important.
Free agents :. Johnathan Tah (invincible, experience in back 3 , in his prime , league winner ) Alfonso Davies ( world class , young , suits the requirement , played with De Ligt and Mazaroui , league winner , ucl winner) , Johnathan David ( near elite numbers , young , experience with angel gomes and leny yoro ) Angel Gomes ( press resistant, ball retention, versatile 8 or 10 , dribble ability , passing range , adapt quick as former Manchunian, playmaker )
Thats 4 great free agents , and small stains on PSR.
Other signings:
Bastoni + Conahoglu(100) - combative , a world class 8/6 hybrid and a wc defender. A FK specialist , combative midfielder who can set tempo in Conahoglu snd Bastoni is the best CB possibly....
Eze+Wharton+Ryan Nouri -100
Nypal-10
Thats a spend of 200
David , Gomes, Tah , Alfonso , Bastoni , Eze , Wharton , Ryan , Conahoglu.
Convert Casemiro into a CB
Thats a squad of
World class : Bastoni , Tah , De Ligt , Conahoglu , Johnathan David , Onana , Bruno , Alfonso, Mazaroui,
Approaching world class : Johnathan David , Lisandro Martinez, Eze , Ugarte
Good players with high potential in system: Dalot , Amad , Gomes ,
Prospects: Wharton , Mainoo , Yoro
Attack : David , Rasmus
Mid field : Bruno , Gomes , Eze , Ugarte , Wharton , Conahoglu, Mount , Mainoo, Amad
Wingback: Dalot , Frimpong , Mazaroui , Ryan Nouri
CB: Tah , Casemiro , Lisandro, Bastoni , Yoro , De Ligt .
Gk: Onana.
Thats an elite squad.
-Eze + Wharton have chemistry from palace
-Onana , Bastoni , Conahoglu have chemistry from Inter
-Bruno , De Ligt, Amad , Mainoo , Lisandro , Casemiro , Yoro, Rasmus , Mount already have chemistry.
-Bruno and Dalot are Portuguese internationals.
-Davies , Mazaroui and De Ligt are former squad mates
- Maz , Onana , Lisandro and De Ligt are former Ajax players.
- Amad , Rasmus are from Atalanta and have experience in back 3
- Eze , Mainoo , Gomes , Mount are all potential English internationals.
-Ugarte and Bruno are former sporting CP players.
-Johnathan David , Angel Gomes and yoro are all from Lille.
The squad would also have combatants , game readers , dribblers , passers , Spot kick specialists. Etc etc
It would have UCL winners ,league title winners , invinvible , golden boy winner , second most expensive teenager of all time etc etc , the most expensive denmark player of all time , the best ball winning anyways....that squad only cost 200
Davies will end up at Madrid, Tah at Bayern. Free agents of that calibre generally demand large signing bonuses.
No way Bastoni will leave Inter for United
hahaha sometimes been playing too much fifa.
So the prim would be lower like most of football now
Made this video 10 years ago
Players that shouldn't be there in two years time: Lindelöf, Rashford, Eriksen, Casemiro, Dalot, Antony, Shaw, Evans.
100%. And thank you for not including Bruno. lol Our fanbase still don't understand how important he is to the team.
sounds like you need to buy 3 wing backs lol thats $250m easy
None of those players will be sold so it depends on contract length and whether the club can afford to just drop them. Rashford might be good enough to play elsewhere but nobody will pay 350k a week for him.
Silly JJ he dropped his pen! 6:41
Joe getting down to his fighting weight ready for the match of the day job
The covers for the desk screens look very 80's
Please keep doing more Manchester United coverage!
Disappointed in Laurie’s take on Rashford tbh, given he’s a United journalist.
Where are the underlying numbers JJ?
"The rest? Honestly I would sell them all"
Why do you put it so bluntly 😂😂😂

Guys!!!!
Is Sancho a loan or a buy to Chelsea?
Either way, would Sancho be a massive plus and play in this system? 10:44
I really love rashford but i think he could be another english player who flourishes in italy
10:42. Everyone missed the fact that he was impersonating Ruben Amorim's voice haha.
How many minutes have Zirkzee played under Amorim, just over 20 minutes. To little time to evaluate if he fits.
'They're not underwater on the pitch'. Have you been to Manchester?
Will pop back here in May when Relegation is confirmed.
Everyone milking the Amorim views
The comments about players who shouldnt be in the squad epitomize the problem with the club. Just dismissing players as "not good enough for Man Utd" is pointless to say given we are not talking about a team that is elite in any sense
the analysis of Zirkzee is childish... the scorer in this team is clearly Rasmas... Zirkzee is a half 9... so theis hype about goals from a striker is stupid
TIFOOO X TALK OF THE DEVILS WOHOOO
Surely the athletic are aware that United don’t play on saturdays and wednesdays this year. Would it have not been possible to do a Thursday Sunday schedule ?
The literally have a game this Wednesday
Publicly interview managers to take the spot of the manager that is still working and knowing about this, and so do the players. Then to backpedal and cause no more drama, they add 1 more year to the contract of the manager they are already working to fire and switch, spend a bunch more dozens of millions of pounds for players of his choosing and his gamestyle.
Then finally fire him and hire a new manager with a totally different system and gameplan and tell him "ok save us. Btw theres no money left for you". Genius
I love De Light but Mazaroui play like he has been in United since under SAF 😂
Nice concept and interesting analysis. The level of sarcasm/dry humor is excessive though.
This sentence just shows the delusion man united fans have.... one of the best players in the world? LOL
Another video without John, has he gone?
Zirkzee fits the system more than Garnacho
17:18 "even if the know how of the club over the last 2 years has been losing" won trophies in each of the last 2 years 🙂
Romania! …. yes
Yessssssss!!!! no Jon Mackenzie to talk about United and obsess over OOP structures on an Arkham asylum level
I don't think you went tactically enough into what they should have for lunch...
On Monday they should have fish fingers with Baked beans
On Tuesday because they're travelling they should have a Continental brunch this might include a miniature box of cereal, fruit, and a muffin, pastry, or bagel but if they need specific dietary requirements they should register them with the airline at least 24 hours before the flight
On Wednesday as they're in Romania they should have sarmale with some bulz, etc
Joe looks very good these days, quite attractive. JJ Bull is also present
What will city look like after Sunday
Going to need some CBs if Lindelof and Maguire leave on frees
And Evans will retire after this season. Definitely need one, at least, or even two.
@CoconutJewce exactly. And a midfielder to replace Eriksen (and most likely Casemiro too)
probably need a whole new backline and wing backs... thats another 500m down the drain.
Bro let us atleast finish this season on a positive note then we can talk about next one two or ten years squad.
A like from Romania 😂
This is kind of content given when there isn't much to talk about when a manager has just started to input his ideology in 1 game
Laurie Whitwell is the kind of annoyingly handsome, well kempt, charming, funny, successful kid with perfect hair who I used to hate at school. In fact I still hate him know. But also desperately want him to be my friend.
Aww, why don't you be Laurie Whitwell ?
@ sadly the gods did not bless me with his gifts.
Good luck swimming to Romania. It’s landlocked. I guess you could swim up rivers.
Just take a look at Sporting and their performances since Amorim left. Just the inverse of what happened to Man Utd. Ten Hag was doing such a great job that an interim gets in and stabilizes a team and the the new coach starts showing improvements in just two games.
