Chris, what a great video! This channel has quickly became one of my favorites. I personally would love to hear more about your business experiences...
Awesome Chris. This was very inspiring to me as a 25 year old. I've been selling cards and high end video games now full time for 6 years and it's all I know. I always do have that "what if I went another route and got a 'real job'." thought in my head. So it's extremely reassuring to hear your story and go back to cards and what you love. Thank you for another great video, I can safely say this is my favorite channel.

I just spent the last few hours listening to your card collecting stories! I can tell that you have found something in card collecting that gives your life meaning. You seem to be a very honest down to earth person and very professional. I like the way you do business with your partner! Sometimes you need a second opinion and having to pay him back first gives you added incentive to actually sell product. He also can close off the deal and help negotiate. I grew up during the same time as you and our stories are very similar. All the boys collected baseball cards. All my allowance and paper route money went into cards. Good channel! I love the content.
Your videos are simply the best of the Internet. Really interesting insight and thoughts, and I really enjoy each and all of your videos when they pop up on TH-cam. Thanks for the great content!
Really enjoyed this historical walk through Chris, thanks! We have very similar overlaps in our history, so it was nice to hear some “oh it’s not just me” items in there as well! -Andy
Your story sounds like me growing up in the 80s in So Cal. I used to go to Kenrich and Valley coins and baseball card store. Also, Frank and Sons and local card shows.
Also, I used to buy coins as a 6 yo from that coin shop across Sir George’s Smorgasbord on Valley Blvd. That guy moved from there to Glendora and is now Best Variety Sports Cards...he has a crazy amount of stuff in that shop including stuff he originally had in the 80s!
So I've followed the channel for a while and never watched this video. I started collecting around the same time and was obsessed just the same. We had a card shop right up the street and I used to take (steel) my dad's change from his 5 gallon change bucket to buy cards and packs. In 91, I went with my cousin, uncle and dad to the National in Anaheim. I remember when high school ce around my collecting friends went their own ways, but I was still collecting sets. After high school, life, bills and more diverted my attention from the hobby, but I always got packs from Target and Walmarts when I visited them. Then sometime around the Angels winning the world series I jumped back in and collected sets that were packed pulled sets. Later, the investment side and the breaking side of the ho. Y really caught my attention. I started breaking in 18 and love doing it and love seeing people go nuts when you hit a great card for them. This story you shared really hit that nerve that says "I don't know why cards have always called to me, but they do." This was really fun to hear your journey. Appreciate you sharing it.
I agree too. Chris, you say you got out of the film industry, but the video right here was well thought out, written and produced. You may think you are out but this is video is art. Keep up the good work.
Great video, definitely interested in seeing more. Buying 89-91 topps packs at my local card shop is what got me back in about 3 years ago!! Thanks again!!
Chris, I love your honesty and story telling. Card collecting has been a passion of mine since I was around 11-12 years old. My hope is that my youngest son who is now 11 will start to get into collecting too. I really enjoy your videos, I can sense the passion you have for what you do. Keep up the great videos!

I had an obsession with Giannis when he was a nobody. I was the only one who knew about him and bought a bunch of his rookie cards when they were dirt cheap throughout 2014-15 when his prizm RC were $2 on eBay. Bought 30 plus and have Rc Autos etc, flawless diamond, and several low numbered cards.
