Your voice is soothing, like a pleasant drunk that's sad he got drunk, but isn't drunk at all. You have bed time story cadence, or powerful lesson inflection

I’m so happy I found this channel. I can relate now that my original collection is aging I find myself replacing or modifying more consoles from my childhood. Started by replacing the pins in my old NES. Just had to replace the disc drive in my Wii.

You can get one for a few dollars on Amazon. Weirdly I actually found that dental pick in the street and I kept it because I’m a dirty raccoon boy. True story.

Yes and it's a good thing we already own allllll these games that are now so expensive so that we can make legitimate backups of them all to conveniently and reliably play them on our original hardware!!!

Another (probably easier) way to remove stickers that I realized just within the last couple years is to use a hair dryer or heat gun; it should peel off pretty easily with little to no residue, but Goo Gone will take care of that either way.

I watched all your bimmy vides a while back and this popped in my feed today lol. Very solid video!
You botched a few pads there which is pretty common for the first one. If you do another one, use lots of tacky flux, conical tip and tin the pad not the leg. just keep the tip on the pad at the base of the leg and pry with your exacto knife or dental tool. That's what works for me.
fine tip + heat the pad is the secret sauce for the leg lifting. it's what works for me at least :D

I’ve got multiple PS1s but never did this mod so I picked up the board and plan on installing in a few days. For some reason I’ve always skipped doing anything for the PS1 and this will go great with my Dreamcast and it’s GDEMU.
Also, this was one of my favorite tutorial videos to check out. Awesome content. Subscribed.

I have this same crime killer cover sticker that was included in a PSM magazine issue, I put a thrill kill one on a spare PS1 I have. I was also lucky enough to get a ps1 for 15$ years ago and it was also modded so it reads all games and backups.

It's kinda expensive NGL you can find a cheaper classic psx mini hack it with autobleem which is actually much easier and faster and no hard modding needed and you can still install ALL PS1 games and other emulators. TBH if you have the money and you into this is still fine.

I definitely wouldn’t consider myself a guru per se but I’ve modded 10+ consoles with similar solder boards/ribbons and after watching videos on the x station I am considering what the freaking point was from the developer vs using the time to just figure out the OD port and make an ODE compatible with literally every model…?

This isn't directed at you and I totally get this process is for a different intended experience overall, but can I just say in general how complicated this seems to me compared to building a PC from parts? I don't understand how console enthusiasts can be totally fine with board level modifications and soldering as part of their hobby but seemingly completely baffled by throwing together a couple pieces of hardware spec'd to fit with some screws. Am I crazy?
