  • In this video I review the new Axial Shift V3 OTF knife. This new version of the shift is in magna cut and features a 7000 series aluminum handle and a bearing glide trigger. This is the best value USA made OTF on the market right now in my opinion.

Outstanding knives but I much prefer my Microtech’s - especially with the zero blade play coming. I had this version with the G-10 in Wharncliffe and the sharpening near the choil was a bit sloppy, with a smile and the beginnings of a recurve. I am spoiled by the perfect blade grinding and sharpening of Microtech. For $229 it’s amazing, I can do without the filler plate and exposed screws.

MTs zero blade play will be 400 dollars more than this Axial. MTs quality control has gotten really bad since the pandemic.

Incorrect @unk8371 - Mocrotech’s dual fuel system that is smoother than Axial, the milled titanium pocket clip with silicone carbide ball and zero blade play will add about $40 which will make a standard Ultratech about $350. Not only is it zero blade play, but it’s also adjustable so that in 20 years after hundreds of thousands of deployments, if it loosens a bit, you as the user can adjust back to zero blade play - 100% game changer.
