you've confirmed for me what i suspected. there's no more controversial knife right now that i can think of than this. it got lucky with some good initial hype, but frankly he doubled down on a designe that's actually wrong, in that. for the most scientifically ergonomic, the part of the handle that needs to be thinnest is towards the ricasso, this has it opposite. (like most the the extrema fixed blades, like the ratio). and yes, you're right, technically the point of a scandi grind is that it goes to a zero grind, normally it doesn't have a microbevel. even $10 moraknivs have a "true" scandi grind. it goes to a zero bevel. before you sell this you should do a vid of what you think better alternatives to this are. for example Bram Frank, and even ka bar tdi knives for a tiny fraction of the price!

I had a Bloodshark, HAD. It was a cool knife at first and it was the thicker stock version, then it kind of lost its allure to me after I got the OT Scandi by Joe Watson. The Bloodshark is just hype at that price

I've always thought Scandi was a woods or bushcraft, grind. Carving, etc. I would say most of the knives I've seen that would be carried for self defense have had either a Hollow grind or a Saber. Flat grinds are very slicy as well and would inflict a lot of damage. Although any knife will cut and create wounds, a Scandi is definitely not my EDC of choice when concerned about self-defense.
Because that’s the secondary market price…..why sell it for $500 when someone will give you $900. Doesn’t mean you have to think it’s worth $900, so long as the person paying the money thinks so. If I had a Jackson Pollock painting, you’d best believe I’d be selling it for $65mil, regardless of the fact I think it’s an obscenely ridiculous price for splashing a couple of tins of paint around.

The grind looked like a Scandi. I've never known Scandi grinds to be pursued for self-defense applications. The knife and your review CONFUSED me!
Scandi is probably the best for self defense over anything. What would you choose?
