the beginning of this piece is one of the most beautiful things ive ever heard. reminds me of an introduction to a ballet before the curtains fully open.
Please watch this at the lowest quality only (144p) since it's just for the music, which is much more ecologically responsible than at a higher rate. Watching this at 240p (which is unnecessary for listening purposes), will increase the bandwith by double to almost tenfold! At 1080 the bandwith is augmented by a factor of 100! The use of digital technology accounts for 4% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions, as much as the emissions from the world's truck fleet. Of that, a BIG part comes from livestreaming videos, mainly 3 sources : TH-cam, Netflix and porn. Let's enjoy this beautiful music by being aware and responsible, doing our little part in decreasing our carbon footprint and protecting this wonderful planet for the generations to come.
Schrecker here reminds me of a mixture of Reger and Debussy, without the personality or melodic interest of those two composers. It was hard to stay attentive because of that, and so it seemed to go on - and on - and on. Nonetheless, it's sadly unfortunate that it had to be played to an empty house. (And was that a bit of a Saint-Saens concerto I heard at 1:06ff?)
@@towardthesea_ No art is more subjective than music, nor is that subjectivity more willing to accommodate change in opinions or appreciative bias over time or with greater familiarity. In other words, I'm willing to give Schrecker's opus a second audition. Here goes!.....(And a half hour later...): I'm convinced that I was just having a bad day when I first heard this work, or else I wasn't as musically mature, because now the score opened up to me and revealed a fine sense of melody and form, and, yes, personality. I seem to have found my ear, and stayed attentive!

it also recalls Schreker´s prelude to "Die Gezeichneten"
Gorgeous. This channel...this orchestra...never ceases to put out the highest quality performances and at no charge. So generous. Thank you for this.
I am addicted to this music. Fantastic rendition!
Schreker weaves his magic with consummate skill and a superb ear.
This is matchless music.
Thank you hr-Sinfonieorchester and Stephan Asbury.
Never seen such a great work of orchestra about Schreker’s music.
Delighted to hear that, delighted to live at one time with that performers. Perfect.
Ich bin Japaner.
Ich schaue mir dieses Video immer an.
Vielen Dank für den wunderbaren Klang.
Ich unterstütze dich! !!
A magical score. Wonderful performance.

MAGNIFICENT!!! So opulent! A great way to start a Sunday! Bravo to all!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
I didn't realise Schreker was such a romantic! And a master of the orchestra. I love it!
No, this fin-de-siecle music is not romantic at all.
@@hansschonfelder735 It is by definition expressionist late-romanticism, stop trying to sound like you know what you're talking about
Glorious, intoxicating score. So beautiful!
Gracias hr Sinfonieorchester por tanta y tan magnifica música ❤️

Hi!
_ Wednesday, the second week of December. Time flies. This is the end of the year, so...
I hope you this week will be a healthy/feeling week. ^O^
Who is the hornist?

Why was the applause at the end so weak?!?! >:(
Because this was recorded during the pandemia, there is no audience, the orchestra musicians itself aplauded.

Bad bait. Also you do know the quality setting affects audio quality as well, right?
@@korhonenmikko That's completely false. Switch between different fps formats, there's no noticeable sound difference whatsoever.
@@camilohiche4475 there is.
Maybe let's build a few more new nuclear reactors and then sit back and enjoy the music in 4k. Best wishes!

No personality??? Do you even have an ear? My goodness...
