You have been a major asset to the Ham Radio community. If I can be one tenth of the elmer to my 10 grandchildren as you have to our community and all I've learned from you, I will feel I have contributed a lot to the hobby. I currently binging all your videos and will instruct my herd to do the same. May the angles be with you and hope you are around a lot longer. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you. 73 de W3LU

Let me just say, I'm 78 and live in northern NV. I've got AML as well. I started fighting six years ago. NEVER GIVE UP! I've been put in remission three times. I've had two stem cell transplants. I'm almost two years into my second transplant, and am doing fine (as fine as I can expect after all the stuff I've been through anyway). We did all this at MD Anderson in Houston and Medicare and our secondary covered EVERY bit of it. There are options. Every nurse along the way said, "NEVER GIVE UP!". I never did and never will. Jim, over my 57 years licenced there have been very few people I regard as true radio amateurs. You are the one who stands above all others. You inspire the young and give we older hams a role model. My prayers are with you Jim. God bless and thank you for your years as W6LG.

There is Superman and Batman and Iron man and Thor and .... well all those superheros, but they arn't real. You are. You are an extroidinary gentleman, one who I wish I had had the opportunity to talk "antenna's " with. You have all the qualities that we should all try to obtain. Honor, integrity, and truth-teller. You are the epitome of a class act. Not only those qualities, but you go out of your way to teach and help everyone in this community. I have only been a ham for a little while, but I have so injoyed watching and learning from you. My heart goes out to you and yours along with my prayers for healing. Thank you so much!!!!! 73, KQ4JFE

What a miserable turn of events, Jim. I’m so sorry you were exposed to these toxins and the cancer that has been the result. You’ve given so much to amateur radio and each of us as individuals. There are a lot of people praying and pulling for you. I. Sure we all wish we could do something to help, in addition to our thoughts and prayers. God Bless you, sir.

Jim, I became a radio amateur in 2018, and more or less since then, I followed your youtube videos, enjoyed them, and learned from them. A terrible accident happened in my life four years ago and changed it forever and not for the best. I learned from you also to move on and continue to do what I like and can still do, despite adversity. It's a hard thing to admit but there will be no miracles or any amount of prayers that will change the course of our lives. However while anyone of us must die, one day or another, very few have the privilege to leave a mark behind them. You will be one of those, Jim. Be proud of that.

I am so sorry to hear this news Jim. I have always enjoyed your videos and your contributions to Amateur Radio. Back in the 1980s, I was a consultant to the California Dept. of Health when I worked at Livermore National Lab working with Dr. Ross Adey of Loma Linda Medical Center. We were asked to investigate the high incidence of childhood leukemias in McFarland caused by the Voice of America in Delano. We used antenna modeling to show that the beam was not towards McFarland and we surmised that it was the intense pesticides in that agricultural area. Keep strong and you are a valuable resource to the Amateur Radio community. 73 de Prof. Jim Breakall WA3FET

Jim . . . I have been a quiet listener and consumer of the video guidance you've provided over the years. Your voice stands out above the cacophony of noise in our community for the knowledge, fairness, consistency, empathy, and honesty it carries whenever you speak into that mic at your desk.
Thank you for all you've contributed. You should take comfort in knowing that your work has made for so many better hams and, yes, better humans. 73 Jim K1IR

When I began researching amateur radio you were one of the first YT personalities I found. I enjoy your polished presentations and always enjoy seeing you post a new video. I consider you my Elmer as I have learned more from you than anyone else in this hobby.
I support you and your effort to publicize this radiation hot spot - this is the first time hearing of it in my life. It sounds like it was a waste dump Wild West of the 1950-60’s out there. I am a chemist by training and do agree you must have had one or more severe radiation exposures in your childhood.

Jim, although I'm newer to radio, in my eyes, you are the standard of what it means to be an Elmer and what I strive to be as an operator. Someone else said that everyone will pass but few will leave a legacy. When I wasn't sure how to properly communicate and what "QSL" was all about, it was your videos I learned from. I will never not think of you and chuckle when I hear someone saying "QSL" every other word. Recently, I heard someone say "Hi Hi" on SSB. Immediately, I heard your voice saying "...just laugh". For me and many other operators who are newer, you will always pop into our minds in so many little moments like that. Gradually, those little moments will become a lifetime of radio which will have been guided and shaped by you. You are most certainly in that few who will leave a legacy. Even more few are those who will leave such a positive and constructive legacy as yours. Thank you so much for everything, Jim.

So sorry to hear about the health struggles Jim. I came across your videos while studying for the technician license found an interest in radio which is far from my day to day as a mechanical engineer. The amount of people you've helped to teach and inspire to pursue radio as a hobby or as a career is immeasurable, not to mention all the friendships formed on the air over the years. Your theory on the cause of your health issues makes me motivated to continue on my path in the industrial wastewater treatment industry designing systems to prevent pollution, and hopefully in turn preventing symptoms like you are experiencing. Your catalog of videos will undoubtedly continue to serve those new to hobby, and those like myself who are in the infant stages of the hobby but recognize the value and expertise put forth in your videos. We appreciate what you do, and what you have done more than you can know. We all look forward to any videos you may continue to post as health allows. I wanted to express my gratitude as others have done in hopes that you get a chance to read it. Thank you for all you do, and may the signals be in your favor. Best of luck for you in the future, and 73.

According to one video there are over 500k people living within 10 miles of the place, children are STILL getting sick. From the trichloroethylene solvent they dumped, to the sodium reactor failure, to the open toxic burn pits they used to shoot at with a rifle to light on fire because they couldn't stand close enough (no kidding)... the place was an absolute DISASTER! There are some documentary style presentations on YT if you want the specifics.

When I got involved a few years ago you were a great source of assistance and I watched likely all of your content. I will be forever grateful for your generosity of your time and teachings. Stay well my friend.
