If you have looked around on twitter lately, you may have seen people talking about a mod which seems to be changing the game dramatically. Zoe first showed it to the public, in a video where she completes a level that is seemingly impossible in terms of FPS. Then numerous people came out showing some really good progress on hard levels… on 60fps. Many people have said this raises the skill ceiling immensely, and others have been asking when they could get to try it. So firstly, it’s important to say that this mod is out right now. But what does it actually do? How are players managing to get insane progress on 60fps? And what if I told you that by using this mod, you could have an input precision equal to 1000fps, or even 8000fps? This is the Click Between Frames mod.

I really think that even if it can be considered cheating
This doesn't allows you to just beat a level, it makes everything more comfortable, makes things precise and respond when YOU CLICK and i think it should be the way geometry dash had to be from the very start

I don't think so, In my opinion, this mod just make things works as should have worked, and i think it's the only mod on story of Geometry dash that modifies and improves gameplay that i think anyone, the most casual to the most tryhard player would be able to have and no matter who, it will just improve their experiences
If a casual can play comfier, can give a better performance, the same as the pro, and if even like that this is consider by cheating, then i'm happy of cheating on this game, because if i beat a level, it wasn't for the mod, it was because i could, i just have precise controls to play instead of playing with 1ms of delay on a very precise game like this one

@BucketOidIt might work since the touch sampling rate of mobile phones are usually double the refresh rate, and there are phones which already has 720hz touch sampling rate so this might get implemented.
I wouldn't say it's necessarily a bad thing, it's still a mod "in discussion" for legitimacy and is still a new thing that is mainly to try out and test for now, unless rob manual adds it which he may.
I usually play mobile but I did have a good time just playing random stuff using vsync with it on my old "30hz" pc (that or it's bugged, settings show 60hz), if you don't have a pc then I'd see your issue, but maybe it'll get added for a game update/mod update later on.
you don't need to worry bc currently using that mod to complete levels makes the completion unvalid

Cheating mostly for stuff that can't be done humanilly like using speedhacks To higher up the Clicks or noclipping which is obv playing against game's physics to pass the Blocks
This doesn't attack The fps nor the TPS nor physics of the game, it just makes the game how it should've been
you click = icon moves
Not You click = wait for next frame = ending 4 steps of the frame = Icon moves

Also as someone who's tried it I really hope this gets implemented / allowed, it makes the game feel so much more fair and fun, the inputs are so precise that it takes any sort of delay rng out of the picture which feels absolutely amazing.

This mod is amazing. I was able to do decent noclip runs on VSC on 60 fps. If it was inplimented into the game we should be able to toggle it off tho because if not then levels like 3shih way off limits
Used the mod and got really good and fast progress on avernus, not to mention that I have WAY less lag that playing on the 2.1 gdps. I think it should be allowed for the demonlist because it makes it fair for everyone

There should be a list for this mod instead of allowing it in the demonlist (or it tells you if they used it)

you may need to set custom keybinds but yeah basically
before i had over 100 attempts each day when i was trying to beat electrodynamics but after the mod i beat it in 25 attempts (same day, same run)

How do i activate it it dosent seem to be working i used 5 fps and still when i clicked late it wouldent move but cbf means i can click anywhere in the avaliable frames instantly right?

before this could get implemented into vanilla some problems need to be fixed
1. I have talked to people experiencing massive lag with this mod. If it were implemented to vanilla it'd just bring massive lag to those people.
2. It works best on 60, 80, 120 and 240 fps, meaning people who play values like 75, 144, 165, 288 would not benefit from it which would be unfair.

there's no reason to not allow this. the only arguments I have heard is that a) it isnt accessible to mobile players: this is totally irrelevent as mobile players can almost never be top players anyways so is no reason to limit the rest of the community -the majority of the list community.
and b) it's not vanilla so it's bad -this is just silly since the only basis this is an argument is just a stupid preference without any kind of reasoning or basis.
Samsung players can actually access it, and if we can get our big names convinced, it can easily sway Rob’s opinion because until today, only a few invested people knew about the mod, but today there’s a lot more. We just need to spread the word

for now you could just use tps bypass, its the closest thing we are probably getting to this.

is the 4 ticks (1,1,1,1) how it is by default? So the input tracking ticks at 60x4 = 240hz polling rate on 60hz? What if I play at 120hz, does the input polling rate then become 120x4 = 420hz? Or is it constantly always the same based on my mouse's polling rate hardware, like 1000hz throughout all fps I play at?
playing on 120fps will result in you having 2 ticks, so 120x2 still equals 240. playing on 240fps just gives you one click

Do you know how vanilla 2.2's FPS option works with this? I play visually at 120 FPS with the in-game FPS value set to 480 as I noticed it reduced screen tearing. From what I can tell, due to 2.2 I'm basically playing at 240Hz due to the limit Rob put in.
So for the visuals/physics/inputs graphs you've shown (e.g. 7:26), I assume I'd be on 120/240/240 without the mod, and 120/240/1000 with the mod. Is that correct? And if so, do you think it'd make a noticeable difference for me playing low-mid level extremes. I played on 60Hz for years before returning to the game in 2.2 with a higher refresh rate, so it already feels extremely responsive playing the way I do now.

for the reduced tearing you need to understand how monitors work. imagine a number line, with 240hz steps. if you have 360hz steps, they won't match up. this introduces screen tearing and stuttering
instead, multiply the refresh rate of your monitor
@@bluemangroup_1828 I understand that, but in my case setting it to 480 has less screen tearing than setting it to 240. Both of these numbers should line up with both the game's 240Hz and my monitor's 120 FPS, but 480 is better for some reason.

Only inputs are affected. There's still benefits to having a high refresh rate monitor that can display high FPS values like perceived smoothness.

To be honest I think a HRR monitor is more cheaty than this mod, it establishes an unfair advantage by establishing a paywall through superior hardware. This mod equalises this and makes this not a problem

I still really like the mod and hope it becomes standard but I feel like it's a little disingenuous to say it doesnt change physics while also including that
physics aren't changed, but the game's engine is notified about your input at a higher rate, so that when it does its calculations for your position on the next game state, it accounts for that input timing, without "sticking" it to the next frame. in other words, there is no latency lag because the game processes your inputs almost immediately

@@Collin0 well yeah you're right this is impossible on vanilla. vanilla ties the input polling rate to the physics update rate, this mod just makes those updates separate. I should've made that distinction clear in my comment

I believe this mod should be counted as a part of the game for one reason and that is the FPS Bypass was accepted. the FPS bypass was a mod external to geometry dash, just like this one. It helped increase click precision, just like this one. And it was accessible only to some players, just like this one. This is just simply a more advanced FPS bypass in a way, and shouldn't be banned.

in the #supporter-general channel in the ybot server, kepe said he's cooking up ybot 3 and a working prototype is made rn, it fixes sfx, all the crashes, performance issues, and has a bunch of qol (quality of life) features

this is the way gd has to be, in just think about it, 8000hz was a little bit pointles because it just was an advantage for frame consistency where for example 500hz PoRate was higher than 240hz FraPerSecond but it just have some delay for the size of the data, and 8000hz its just so small sized data that allows you tu have 240hz or even better 540hz without that small delay that could cost you a frame, but with this i can get juice from my 8000hz polling rate devices and not only from the small delay sized data
and people that have 8000hz devices but under 120hz screens are just way free
this is how gd has to be from the beginning, i can use a Wave and a Ship as a pro with my 82hz (overclocked) monitor from my moms laptop, im hitting sonic wave parts, zodiac start and timing challenges from top way easier than without this

the main issue with increasing physics steps was lag, so if this really, if implemented propperly, wouldn't cause as much lag, then it should be fine
the second issue would be implementing this for all the stupid devices you can play gd on, because you can not implement this only for pc or else people on mobile would not be able to do that timing paqoe did showcasing the mod
and if we solve all that then the third issue is if this is really better, you would think thats a dumb question but having a 60fps frame perfect become a 960fps frame perfect doesnt sound that fun

Honestly, I don't know what to make of all these improvements, I feel like we just suck and that the only real GOATS are OG players like riot etc... a bit like today's society, the new generation is increasingly assisster (no relation but a little link anyway). in the end, are we really pushing human limits or are we lying to ourselves by cheating? im confused between the diff between hz and fps if u play vanilla gd with a 240hz monitor u still get 60fps dont u?
2.2 added an 'unlock fps' option to allow you to set fps, monitor hz just provides more clarity
Hz is the monitor refresh rate, it's kind of a cap of how many Frames per seconds you CAN get, your fps are your actual frames, you could have a 360hz monitor but if your gpu is unable to reach 360 fps then you won't actually see 360 frames every second

i used a half split as an example. it can split the step in any way it wants
This is just my 2 cents but I personally think that while this would be a great addition to the game it should be optional. Many players such as myself enjoy the challenges that come with playing on lower refresh rates and making this a mandatory feature would in essence, kill the lrr community in its entirety. I think that giving players more options is always a good idea and that keeping this as an optional feature would be great from that perspective.

It does help with inputs and have the game respond better but the difficulty of the game isn’t removed entirely as people make it sound.
it increases the skill ceiling, so the best players will be able to beat harder levels.
