- There are tons of tools in Mega Hack to make the lives of players and creators in Geometry Dash easier, but recently there has been controversy surrounding the Show Hitboxes on Death tool.
This made me wonder: How do the other hacks stack up against it?

Here's an (almost) 3000 word essay on whether show hitbox hack should be allowed or not in geometry dash so you don't have to write it
Introduction:
Geometry Dash is a popular rhythm-based platformer game developed and published by RobTop Games. One of the unique features of the game is the use of "hitboxes," which are invisible obstacles that the player's character must avoid in order to successfully complete a level. When the character touches a hitbox, the player fails the level and must start over. In recent years, there has been a debate among the Geometry Dash community about whether hitboxes should be visible to the player upon death or whether they should remain hidden. This essay will examine both sides of the argument and ultimately determine whether or not the inclusion of hitboxes in Geometry Dash is a beneficial or detrimental feature.
Argument 1: Showing hitboxes upon death helps players improve their skills.
One argument in favor of showing hitboxes upon death is that it allows players to more accurately identify and correct their mistakes. When players can see exactly where they touched a hitbox, they can better understand what went wrong and how to avoid making the same mistake in the future. This can be especially helpful for players who are struggling to complete a level, as it allows them to identify specific areas that they need to focus on improving.
Additionally, being able to see hitboxes upon death can also help players develop their spatial awareness and reaction time. By analyzing where and when they touched a hitbox, players can work on their ability to anticipate and react to obstacles in a timely manner. This can lead to overall improvement in a player's skills and performance in the game.
Argument 2: Showing hitboxes upon death takes away from the challenge of the game.
On the other hand, some argue that showing hitboxes upon death takes away from the challenge and enjoyment of the game. Part of the appeal of Geometry Dash is the sense of accomplishment that comes from successfully navigating a level without knowing where the hitboxes are located. Having the hitboxes visible upon death removes this element of surprise and makes the game feel less challenging.
Furthermore, some players argue that the inclusion of hitboxes in Geometry Dash is meant to be a test of the player's ability to anticipate and react to obstacles, rather than a test of their memory. By showing hitboxes upon death, the game becomes less about reacting to the unknown and more about memorizing the location of hitboxes from previous attempts. This can make the game feel less engaging and less rewarding for some players.
Argument 3: Showing hitboxes upon death can be used to cheat.
Another argument against showing hitboxes upon death is that it can be used as a tool for cheating. If hitboxes are visible upon death, players can simply memorize the locations of the hitboxes and use that information to their advantage on future attempts. This can lead to players achieving high scores and rankings in the game without truly earning them through skill and ability.
Additionally, some players may use the visibility of hitboxes upon death as an opportunity to intentionally fail a level in order to gain an advantage. For example, a player may intentionally touch a hitbox in order to see its location, and then use that information to their advantage on the next attempt. This kind of behavior undermines the integrity of the game and can lead to a less enjoyable experience for other players.
Counterargument: There are ways to prevent cheating with visible hitboxes.
While it is true that showing hitboxes upon death could potentially be used as a tool for cheating, there are ways to prevent this from happening. One solution could be to limit the number of times that hitboxes are shown upon death. For example, hitboxes could only be shown on the first or second death of a level, after which they would remain hidden.
so what's the conclusion
ChatGPT?
@@NANKAIDATTE In conclusion, the inclusion of hitboxes in Geometry Dash is a debated feature among the game's community. On one hand, showing hitboxes upon death can be beneficial for players looking to improve their skills and develop their spatial awareness and reaction time. On the other hand, the visibility of hitboxes upon death can take away from the challenge of the game and potentially lead to cheating. While there are ways to prevent cheating with visible hitboxes, ultimately it is up to the individual player to decide whether they prefer the added challenge and surprise of hidden hitboxes or the opportunity for improvement provided by visible hitboxes upon death.

no background flash just makes killbot actually doable without having a seizure
which means it gives you a massive advantage of not dying irl, time to ban it from demon list-

the "Trail always on" one shuld be just as bannable as the "disable hide trigger" one, since it makes you able to see your trail when you are hidden
also with level edit you can entirely delete levels, play them and have them 100% instantly

7:40 It can take away all the stress that you would normally have if you knew you weren’t in practice mode, but that’s about it.
i disagree because if you know you have this hack on and get far in practice mode you will definitely remember that that attempt would count, and have the same nerves

4:00 I used inversed trail when I played with Mega Hack v5 which doesn't have no trail and I remember that making the game a little easier to play, it mostly affected ship making it noticeably easier
v5 had no trail it was just under the "force trail state" thing
14:03 transparent backgrounds is if you have a texture pack or a different image for a background. the colours turn transparent with this hack allowing for the original image to show instead of it being blue
This was definitely an interesting video. I will say that since my current hardest level is Nowise from the Doom Gauntlet submitting stuff to the demon list will definitely affect me very soon as I clearly have the skill to beat Extreme Demons.
If the game saves while minimized, I guess that explains why it takes ages for me to click back onto it…
OH that makes a lot more sense
3:07 Dont Fade and Dont Enter dont correspond to sides of the screen, its just whether the objects fade off the screen with the block transition or not and whether or not the block transition is used
It makes the levels easier
I think ghost trail is that one trigger that's used in 1.0 levels that kinda shows your icon but transparent behind you, idk it's hard to explain
4:30 its the trigger in the editor that is next to the show/hide player trigger. the trail at polargeists drop. it shows the multi ghost trail and hides it. the hack disables it completely
ye
ones i sorta disagree with
force no enter/no fade definitely changes the level and, depending on the effect the creator chose, can make it easier
solid wave trail is kind of a weird one because on some levels like tenth circle you can see your trail with colors other than black on the all white background
trail always on is actually banned on some levels (like cadrega mode and rust) because when theres a hide player trigger you can still see the trail and tell where your icon is
P1/P2 input mirror is a definite no but demon list doesnt have 2 player levels anyway
yeah i pretty much agree with most of them though
I love the part where he said "it's hacking time" and hacked all over the place
Yes, it’s truly the moment ever
Force don’t enter does actually have some kind of benefit for sight-reading when levels have a massive enter trigger enabled.
No particles makes it harder to spot if a level is auto'd or not. 10/10
Edit: No Robot Fire also makes it hard to spot if a level is auto'd or not. 10/10 again.
6:55 how is this "-/10"? Unless I'm thinking of the wrong thing, this lets you edit any level and you can publish the changes
This means you can do whatever you want to the level and have it saved
I only briefly actually used it to get video of the level but, as far as I was aware the changes don't actually save to the actual level.
If the hack DOES allow you to locally save changes to the level and actually beat it then yes that would be a definite 10/10
@@sdslayer100 thats what it does
it changes the level's data in your local files, essentially letting you do whatever you want with it
it doesnt transport to any servers tho
@@sdslayer100 they save
No rotation does effect hitboxes, but the chances it actually makes a difference in a run is very very small
10:59 It should note that using pause countdown for level like LIMBO is probably not allowed because allow to click during countdown without Mindcap's anti-cheat knowing
damn... i never watched any of your videos, but i saw the intro and insta subbed. Crazy
Window resize can mess with the physics in some weird ways, most likely banned
it also gives free sightreadability so
13:12 Free Window Resize is illegal BC when you Resize it upward it'll give an illegal path above.
Depending on your monitor, you can have ultra wide gd. So in my eyes its the same thing as fps bypass
@@dreamsdicc1817 ultra wide doesn't affect much after all because you still have little fov with your eyes to focus on lovely cube
@@InnocentHumanExtra idk i played on a wide screen and seems to be better. Obviously it doesnt effect skill, only effects sight reading
Omg I've been using this to make the window fill my screen why tf is it illegal
Good in the TC and GD community. Nice work SD!
That mega man music caught me offguard, thats a instant sub right there
I think the ghost trail is the trigger in the level that is the icon trail that fades away after a few seconds, it's a visual thing and isn't in the icon menu, (it's the thing before the hide trigger that says enable)
3:07 I disagree because some levels use that mechanic to their advantage in making the level harder
They dont, theyre fast levels, and makes it harder to see, its not on purpose, otherwise mobile players would be banned with their 16:6 aspect ratio
free window resize would definitely be banned because it affects the ceiling too so in stuff like ship and wave you could just go above the level and beat it. it's actually technically possible to beat silent circles with this although you need to pass the entire first wave but someone could do it one day
does it not give the same result as using an ultra wide resolution monitor?
3:45
Search > find copyable version of the level you want to play > go into the editor > use “hide” trigger on the first grid row. Play level
Bruh just search up RobsVault
Why would they ban the show hitboxes on death? Like, it doesn't change the gameplay of the level, it's just a QoL change that lets you learn the level in less attempts. It isn't an advantage over other people too as there's no demon list grinder with no megahack so everyone could use it. It's the same with some of the others, for example, the start pos one, it only saves time and doesn't actually affect the gameplay... I just don't understand.
9:56 the high fps rotation fix corrects a bug that only happens when your FPS is greater than 720, which is twice the max list allowed FPS anyway, so it should be -/10 ig
7:50 there is a crash trigger in limbo when you try to go a certain path in one of the parts because the creator didn’t want you going that way lol
Fun video! I don't play gd, nor have I ever used mega hack but this was interesting ngl
Wave trail on death should be >1 since it would help to see where you actually die on a fast wave transition
As we all know, Verify hacks are used to upload impossible levels without ever suffering
No Ghost Trail removes the effect that you see in the first drop in Polargeist. So that COULD make the demon list mad.
4:34 i think this one is a 8/10, ghost trail basically copies your icon and makes a trail out of it, even if you're invisible, meaning, if you disable ghost trails levels become buffed
I use show layout a lot (not on demons) because my computer is so shit that levels with more than 30,000 objects lag the hell out of my game :(
so phones are better? How old is your pc wtf
@@Cabo111 it’s from like 2016 haha
i read the title as "How BANANABLE is EVERY Hack in Mega Hack?"
4:32 no ghost trail means the game doesnt show the semi transparent fading icons behind your cube, which is enabled by a trigger in the level, like in the end of silent clubstep
LMAO just watching the vid and there's my level for no reason at 13:50. Cool vid btw
For the verify hack, is it still bannable if it was legitimately beaten, published fairly. But then u make like a deco update or somethin
True I prob shoulda specified that
or like say you have a collab, and you have a verifier, but you dont want the verifier to verify it on your account but you wanna post it on your account, so then the verifier legitimately beats the level on their account and then you hack verify and publish the level on your account

I now feel obligated to ask about your opinions on Show Hotboxes On Death. Reading a 3000 word essay about a GD hack is a great way to procrastinate on schoolwork

@@sdslayer100 thank you for the wonderful 3000 word essay
- The "disable player ghost trail triggers" is similar to the disable show/hide trigger, but it removes the effect where there are "ghosts" that appear behind the player. You can see it after the first red pad in Fingerdash.
- Force visibility, as seen, literally allows every single png or sprite that is available to be shown on the screen/menu to be visible.
- The transparent bg hack is for people with custom ones, it removes the blue filter above the image so the color isnt affected
for the first one did you mean the trail trigger?
For me the most memorable Ghost Trail part is the final reverse gravity part in Base after Base, you can ESPECIALLY see it with black as your primary color
the 'ghost trail' one is that thing from fingerdash and geometrical dominator where your icon has little copies of itself following it
4:30 "no ghost trail" is for that trail that is like the cube in 20% opacity in a level, it's a trigger and yeah not that noticeable
Regarding the wave trail disable cosmetic tweak:
Isn't the wave trail-lines how some people have been exposed for hacking? If so, surely the disable trail cosmetic would easily get entirely banned.
13:18 this bug actually makes silent circles possible and could probably affect other levels too so it is definitely something that could be considered unfair

7:40 i would argue its not the same thing, alot of the nerves i get come from the fact i do it in normal mode and if i were to do it in practice mode it would take away some of them, making it ALOT easier to not die at the end, i dont think it should be banned since it doesnt hide anything as noclip accuracy does, if you get a 100% accuracy run it should be banned since with cheat indicator it could hide other hacks being on
I mean the nerves thing is on a case by case basis
There are people out there who I know don't get that nervous when playing in normal or practice
If you have it on too and get far, you'll likely remember that even though you're in practice, that run would still count and the nerves would still be there
There is a rule in speedhack youre allowed to beat a level faster then 1 because you increase the difficulty (but! Only if you've already beated the level) and if you play it slow then you have to use safe mode or once you did a new record with it on a rated level you get leaderboard bann and or acc bann its a hard topic to make the rule on it but in OSU there is a pointing system with the speed which is the similar same thing i said at the beginning

Some icons, like the 5 ice shards cube, give the player better judgement for hitboxes and such, also white is used in demons as well and there is the weak argument that the demon completion is invalid since it uses icons and colors the player didn't legitimately unlock.
