All of you saying the interviewer is horrible for smiling at the girl, ever considered that maybe she did that to seem more comforting, reassure the girl that she can go on with her story? It's common in Asia to give a small smile when someone is sharing their personal experience with you, not to laugh at them, but to show that you are following with what they are saying and to appear friendlier. It’s only part of it. They are living in poverty they don’t have access/can’t afford to buy contraceptions. Also if someone gets pregnant in poor families they would rather keep the baby so their children can help provide for the family when they grow up

I think, its not the lack of sexual education at all but the freedom and parental negligence.. We at the education sector are following a strict curriculum which includes sex education, talking about contraceptives and the risks of teenage pregnancies. Teens and children in the philippines are very well protected (legally) that they become untouchable. Very minimal discipline towards the kids would result to criminal charges. You can't just impose punishments or sanctions (physical or oral) whenever they commit something wrong, ended up tolerating them. Its hard, really hard to discipline kids nowaday, especially here in the ph.

I saw a comment by Jocelyn Alvarez, which I completely agree with. the topic of sex is regarded as taboo by the older generation in the Philippines. I think that goes hand-in-hand with (as far as I know) why sex education in the Philippines is only being taught at college, which I think isn't early enough. as part-Filipino, I'm aware the majority of the native Filipino demographic suffers from poverty. unless we alter the teaching system to teach sex education earlier, Filipinos who can't end up paying for college won't be as educated about sexual intercourse. at this point, I see an cycle of: not being able to afford education, which leads to a lack of sex education, thus leading to the poor to become poorer as a result of having children, and ends up being a practice that goes on, and on and on.

Exactly. The Catholic chirch has so much to answer for. Sex Ed is not taught here in the Philippines because of the catholic church. It is a disgrace to humanity.
Poverty is a major factor, but sex is a taboo subject here, and sex education is seen as something that would promote promiscuity, when it is in fact the opposite. The Catholic Church (as is evident in many predominantly Catholic countries) strongly opposes it, and so we end up acting like sexless, clueless perverts with a facade of prudishness. The age of sexual consent in the Phillipines is "12 years old". Yes, it's quite alarming. So, technically, an older adult can rape a 12 year old girl/boy and claim it was consensual..but I digress. Part of the blame for teenage pregnancy can be attributed to the government as well as its culture. It is very difficult to help a society that doesn't want to change or combat it's own societal issues.

T. C. yeah true, but most people don’t know about it and those who do don’t care anyways. Only 3% of our GDP goes towards education in our country, we need to raise it, build more schools for more people, have proper sexual education. Tokyo Metro Area is over 5000 miles in area, and houses 38 million people. Just shows how dense in population Manila is from all the shantytowns and slums :(
First off.... most teen pregnancies are from kids... not an adult and kid. Also age of consent and rape are two VERY different things. And for the majority of the world the age of consent is 12yo and under... it is only the western countries (for the most part) that have a 16yo and up age of consent. (And teen pregnancy is highest in western countries and/or from western men)

You also have your answer to the problem, Canada is not 95% religious like the Philippines, poverty is not comparable and the quality of life is different. Argentina is 75% Catholic, with more poverty than Canada and we also suffer the consequences. You can not compare the living and health situation of a country like Canada, which " occasionally" some are teen parents to a country like the Philippines where 12-year-old girls are mentally and sexually abused by men of 24, 30 or 40. In conclusion, poverty and religion are never good together.

I wish someone could explain to this girl that her life isn’t over. She has a beautiful baby. I wish someone would comfort her an help her she seems so broken. So sad to watch her cry so much. Bless her
Her life was over when she was born with a few exceptions, people die there from common infections as they cant buy anti biotics to treat it, you can have a hit done on someone for 20 US dollars, life is cheap there...the country is a big prison most are doomed to repeat the cycle and never leave.... huge waste of human potential, go to cambodia, laos, burma they are even more poor but they seem to achieve more than filipinos with their meagre resources, filipinos mostly don't want to work, most the guys are unemployed, drink all day, gamble, fight and get girls pregnant, most families incomes are derived by the women...
Here in the Philippines, the reason why the interviewer is smiling is to comfort the girl and it's also a sign which means "it's gonna be ok, don't worry" , just because some people smile when someone's talking about their personal life doesn't mean they're heartless, especially since the girl is talking about her personal life, the interviewer just wants to have an expression that's calm and comforting . If i were that girl I wont find that offending at all. It's also the culture here in the Philippines. Some people smile, some people will have a worried look or a serious expression, it depends on what place you are born :> God Bless ❤️

@@vanessaruiz4705 Still she bear the responsibility to taking care all of her childrens with the baby too. As we can see in the vid, their life is tough and hard. I salute her because she didn't whine about her burden but still trying moving forward by carried all her childrens and the lil' baby. That's a strength of a mother.
@Lana Joy it was still her that decided to be going out drinking alcohol at age 15. She does not have access to contraception but she has to alcohol. And yes I understand that the culture and the whole scenario is different. In my opinion anyone can make a mistake but the grandma is only 32 and already 6 kids, that's a bit shocking.
@Lana Joy ive been to the Phillipines. Contraception is easily available they just choose not to use it. I had a girl tell me that condoms are for prostitutes. Another told me that shed had 5 sexual partners and never used any contraception despite knowing she could buy condoms at any convenuence store. They just have a short sighted and impulsive culture.

Jhec jose sorry, but i think you should understand that your norms doesn't apply to the norms in philippines. i'm a filipino myself and what the interviewer was trying to do wasn't because she had no empathy. our culture and the way we respect other people is way different from what you perceive. don't be so quick to judge and say things you don't even know!

In the Philippines it's not as advanced in other countrys and even at the age of 15 some kids still doesn't know about the reproductive system and how it works, I am not saying this as of all schools in the Philippines but even at the age of 16 many teenagers in the Philippines still isn't mature

The lack of sexual education has a lot to do with this I’m sure.
And lack of parental guidance too
In the case of Philippines I think it's lack of parental control and over freedom..leads to cases like this
It’s only part of it. They are living in poverty they don’t have access/can’t afford to buy contraceptions. Also if someone gets pregnant in poor families they would rather keep the baby so their children can help provide for the family when they grow up
Dats Alegria In the Philippines, many children were already taught what’s good and what’s bad, most of our parents have work, or on the farm if you live in the provinces. So maybe the boyfriend was out of control

Seems like a bad combination of a lack of sex ed and living in abject poverty.
And since kids grow up not knowing what sex is and how to deal with it, like kids they just leave everything to chance.
Ignorance isn't always bliss, especially when consequences are dire.

Well. You really didn't do research on how that law works about consent about sex, consensual rape and etc. Go come back when you're more knowledgeable.
But yeah, it's also the government's fault for not making a law about this.

They just have a short sighted and impulsive culture.
this channel should change the interviewer, she doesn't show anh empathy, the girl is crying and yet she is smiling af!
💯agreeee
why the hell are you so fast in judging? what do you want her to do, to get mad on the girl? to cry? SHE IS SIMPLY SMILING for the mother and daughter to be comfortable. If you want, replace her instead.
@@__enarkive hahaha, it is inappropriate reaction to what the girl is feeling, did you read my comment carefully before talking? i said she didn't even show empathy to the girl, which is true and you can see that on the video, the girl is crying but she is just smiling like she is happy about the girl's situation, do you even know what EMPATHY MEANS?
Jhec jose sorry, but i think you should understand that your norms doesn't apply to the norms in philippines. i'm a filipino myself and what the interviewer was trying to do wasn't because she had no empathy. our culture and the way we respect other people is way different from what you perceive. don't be so quick to judge and say things you don't even know!
@@dvibe2833 are you a filipino?
Omg she’s 15 and she already has no teeth that makes me sad... I wish the Philippines government didn’t just care about the rich normal people but care for the poor ones in the slums too.😓
Well government dont care with the poor ones
Kookie狐 カレン where are you from tho?

Wew di naman sa pambabastos ate pero natuwa lang ako sa comment mo hahah mas napansin mo pa yung ngipin nya kesa sa pagbubuntis nya hahah

I rely love the girl's mom for being so supportive, understanding, n strong.she is blessed to have a mom like her.sending a love to all mom's in the world.
When she started crying I just wanted to reach into the screen a give her a big hug 😢

I can’t like ALL of your comments
Absolutely
Same...........
Yea neh
hahahaha
So do you expect it to be ok?
Parents: Don't get pregnant!
Also parents: *doesn't tell kid how to not get pregnant*
Yeah
Parents: don't have sex at that age
Kids: *rebels and does the deed anyway*
I feel like she would have ended up in this situation even if she was aware about procreating and protection.
And how does one know about sex but dosen't know that sex is also about reproduction not just sexual pleasure?! That's what confuses me? Where did she think babies come from?! A stork!
I remember learning about sex at 11 years old.
I'm pretty sure one knows about reproductive biology at the age of 12 or younger than that
I knew where babies came from since I was 10 years old,I learned from my classmates since most of them are Green-Minded
In the Philippines it's not as advanced in other countrys and even at the age of 15 some kids still doesn't know about the reproductive system and how it works, I am not saying this as of all schools in the Philippines but even at the age of 16 many teenagers in the Philippines still isn't mature
