    Picked up an old, used EZGO Marathon electric last year for my wife and she loves it. Drives the grandkids around our property all the time. Uses it to pull a wheelbarrow around for yard work, etc. Saw another for sale this year for a decent price and plan on swapping out the lead acid for lifepo4 batteries and an inverter so that it's a mobile power station so I can use power tools in remote parts of the property without hauling a generator. I've set up some used solar panels and a charge controller on a garden shed so they stay charged all the time.

    Great video! Love your station. I recently made the plunge. Wish this video had been out before my purchase 😂😂 We got a 48 volt 2013 Club Car Presedent off FB market. Have learned a lot the hard way. Was fixed up just enough to look great! Well I let the batteries die on accident. Long story. I found Emerald Goast golf carts who pick up and deliver. They basically rebuilt the whole cart. Yes it was an expensive lesson but worth it. We love it! Registration not required where I live but I have it insured.

    I'm in Florida Tarpon Springs, the cops said. I am not allowed to leave my parking lot unless I got a license plate and car insurance ... Progressive was the only one who really does. The golf carts ..i called many and they wouldnt cover me ....now I got The bundle packages and it has to be a secondary low speed vehicle but I'm paying 150 a month for it just for the golf cart ... I got a Lithium Lifted street legal .their no stress with it just watch out for youre battery level while just driving around ...... Every town is different, you have to see if the town you're in allows golf carts
    More popular cities areas are most likely a Definitely no unless it's just yo ride around in a gated cummity then u need no plate
    you can only go on backroads/25mph but they're so fun I drive a couple blocks to my job i go to the beach and Publix and everyone with a golf waves at me ...

    Really, the best answser will come from the DMV/MVD. The laws applying to on-street registration is based upon the speed capability of the vehicle (golf cart). It is confusing. Seems like the 20mph is the crossover point from a golf cart to a low speed vehicle (LSV). I would title, registger, insure and equip the golf cart with all the bells and whistles that a car or LSV would need to drive on neighborhood streets for reasons of safety if anything. Add to that an LSV triangle. You don't really want to wast time to go to traffic court and face one of the four officers who interprets the law differently than you or the judge.
    Seems like your 36v cart can be converted to 3 12v 100AHr lithium batteries and only need a charger desugbed for lithium batteries.

    I just got a Yamaha and replaced all the batteries and added a battery to get to 48v. I got the batteries from surplus and so am into a great working cart for about 800 bucks. Needs some work on the lights but other than that I’m not going to put a lot of money into upgrades. If you aren’t afraid to shop around, clean one up and do a little work you can get them cheap.

    Many people think of these as toys and not dangerous. I know of people who have been killed in golf cart accidents and others who have been seriously injured going 10mph. They can easily flip and have almost no safety features. They are fun, I own one, but respect them.

    2002 Yamaha. Project. I broke it down and rebuilt entire thing. For sure over spent and would NEVER buy another Yamaha cart again if I wanted a lift kit. For those considering Yamaha - they have a severe camber that even experts couldn’t help me fix when lift lit put on. I wound up modifying it myself (metal work/etc). All my buddies over here in GB in the golf cart mafia have club cars and some ezgo. Optimal cart is 48v club cart. Lithium. Accessories are wayyyyy cheaper than yamaha. Is not steal frame (yamaha is and not great living on salt water). Just my two cents. Good luck!

    • @gulfbreezescapes4429
      @gulfbreezescapes4429 ปีที่แล้ว

      Had to expand on the Lithium… MUST HAVE as the lead acid batteries are VERY heavy and make the cart sluggish (you don’t realize until you put a light weight lithium in). My 48v four passenger does roughly 26-28 mph max speed depending on passenger weight. Also - the charge time is worth its weight in gold.

    L.S.V. here in Ohio have to have brakes, headlights, tail lights, turn signals, windshield and a rearview mirror. The speed range is up to 20 mph, and on roads with speed limits of 35 mph or less, and I carry insurance on my cart. You recieve a title and registation with your lic. plate after an inspection at the Sherriff's Dept. I have also installed mirrors with turn signals on the front and back of them, a third roof top brake light, a rooftop strobe light for better visibility and safety, and seat belts. Mine is a @013 Yamaha G29 gas. I didn't want electric beause of the ongoing cost for batteries and trouble shooting electrical problems should they arise. I wanted a crusier and thats what I have.

    Laws and regulations on those depend on the municipality. In Franklin County, those have changed recently. Some streets and roads are off limits. I believe the license requirements are the same as the state of FL laws (they used to be different). The rules may also be different between owners and renters (like VRBO renters). Some HOAs have their own rules. The laws, rules, and regulations are all over the place.

    You'll have to get a converter to power down your 12 volt stereo from 36 volts. Turn signals and headlamps will be easy to wire in. A simple horn (Bike horn)will work and doesn't have to be electric. If your adding on things consider electric fans, yes they make a difference.
