Every time I've worked on my pc I find myself spending about double the time planning, thinking, and staring at it, as apposed to building it. Going in without a plan is recipe for disaster, and this video is an excellent illustration. Awesome video dude!
When I built my first PC it took me 6 hours to finish it. The CPU cooler alone took 30 mins. I was very confused at the start of the video as to how one could build a PC in 10 mins. It takes 10 minutes to unbox all the stuff alone lol

My nerves were on edge with you the whole time. Well played, sir. Also, I'm relieved to hear that I'm not the only one who normally takes 5 hours to properly build a PC.
I think a speedrun where you unbox everything and read the instructions and salvage all the parts you need before hand still would be hard to get under 10, so 34 isn't half bad.
Dawid panicking is so entertaining. Yeeting boxes, tripping on stuff, dropping screws, shaking and the fact that you had to take the cable for the 8pin of the gpu off another pc was all so hilarious
The glorious tension of being a geek. Love it! Last time I built my computer, it took me like four hours and a good hour plus was the cable management. I went all RGB fans and I didn't know how hard it was going to be do deal with the miles of cables. I had to buy sleeves to wrap them, otherwise it looked like a full nervous system.
This is the most entertaining PC build I've ever seen! Thank you for the uncut video of the time-panic failures! I know I'm not alone in being slow to build a PC now. :)
This was a very funny video. I can definitely relate to misplacing things when rushing. My record complete build holds at 32 minutes start to finish. But that also includes hard drives and DVD burner along with h115.
As a speedrunner, love to see people speedrunning. As much as I love routing, I will also admit that sometimes you just need to throw yourself into your first attempt to get a feel for the run. That being said, let's talk about optimizing your time: - First, why are we using a dedicated GPU? Integrated graphics is a no-brainer. A computer DOES need a CPU to be Turing complete, so we definitely can't skip that step. We also need a GPU to confirm our PC is running. Why not makes installing the CPU and the GPU the same step? - Moving on, two sticks of RAM? Are you kidding me? A computer only needs one stick of RAM to run. Don't waste you time on the second. - Now at this point you're probably thinking, "but that breaks the no cutting corners rule!". You must understand, no corners are being cut. We're not building a PC where we skipped plugging in a dedicated GPU and one RAM stick, we're building a PC that doesn't have these things. - That being said, you have probably already realized that we need to radically change the kind of PC we're building. So immediately we're going to have to change the design to exclude side panels, case fans, uhhhh y'know what? Just scrap the whole case, I can see it's going to eat up all our time. - Now let's discuss thermal paste application. More specifically, I can't help but notice that you applied a non-zero amount of thermal paste. Why are we doing that? Remember, a thermally throttling PC, is a happy PC. An argument could be made for thermal paste, given that it might impact our boot times. I believe this logic to be faulty; after all, we're not speedrunning booting a PC, just building it. - Finally, I think the last superfluous design of our PC is the CPU fan. I mean, how useful is the fan going to be given that we're not even applying thermal paste. Now I know some other runners are going to boycott my advanced building in a walk-in freezer method, but I think it's going to give us the edge we need by cutting the CPU fan from our.... I mean enabling us to build a fully-functioning fanless PC. Hopefully I've given you all some ideas for some better routes to take with your PC builds. I think with these breakthroughs we can easily break the 5-minute barrier. So have a great day and good luck with the runs!
Anna's hysterical laughter makes this video. I have learned that all PC cases have terrible or absent stand-offs, so I usually get the brass Chinese ones.
I just built my first PC with a Phanteks 500 eclipse and that thing was such a breeze to build in! Even had enough room for the 30 series cards as well as a fatty air cooler!
Your choice in case definitely let you down. I would have probably suggested an H510; no PSU backplate, standoffs preinstalled, thumbscrew side panels. That said, this was so much fun to watch, even Anna's reactions. So when are you speed-building a custom water loop? ;) lol. Might I also mention that the Hyper 212, while a good cooler, is super frustrating to install. To save time, you could have just gone with a stock cooler that doesn't need new mounting hardware
