I love the Andromeda, the day they finally fix the lower nacelles weapons (and perhaps update the interior and the eimdow), i'll ditch the Corsair for it.
The "Chuckle" intro gets me every time... Makes me wonder "Uh oh...what's he up to this time?" I don't think a new Mk V would be a good idea, personally. More of a cash grab if it were offered in any way outside of aUEC only. There are things that are missing from the Mk IV that the newer ships only have because they came later in the dev cycle where teams were more mature. If they left the Connie series as Mk IV and started selling a Mk V in the pledge shop, I think you'd hear a lot more of the "Cash Grab" screaming. More than the Mk II Hornet, which is at least getting a potential CCU upgrade if you're willing to do the Overdrive mission series.
CR had stated that he would love to have different year models of ships at some point. I hope they bring back the original "belly-entry" Mustang series as a Classic model, but I doubt that they will.
The reason why the docking is working for you is because you're leaving your ship 15 to 20 km plus away and when you fly away after undocking when you get to that distance in your ship unloads or streams out it detaches your snub from the Connie and then it counts it as undocked That's why your cockpit and wings were folding up because technically you were just undocking at that moment there's some kind of hierarchy messed up when it comes to docking the snub. But streaming your ship in and out 15 km away seems to fix the issue
I really appreciate how they allow you to see red flashes of your ship in the pitch black environment when you fire your repeaters in the snub fighter. It’s these little details that make a big difference in the experience.
Ok first. Thank you for singing the praises for the Conny's. I love this ship. My oldest pledge as well...and still my favorite of all the designs. Now whether they just fix the original MK4 or give us a new one, I don't care, but please CIG, please fix our Conny's. We have been loyal players and Conny owners all this time and we want a completely working, gold standard Conny, we've been waiting for a long time. I want my windshield improved, my table in the floor to work, my hot tub to work ...just everything to be functional finally. I ask this all the time. Please fix our original classic ships before making new ones. And I think that's one of the reasons I like the Conny so much. It's just got that classic cool ship design. It may not be as fancy as the Origin ships, but it somehow reminds me of the ships from my favorite shows. It has that Millenium Falcon/Serenity vibe that is streamlined by gritty and lived in at the same time. A ship that would feel like home. And of course, the Phoenix version does give you that extra little bit of fancy flair as well. And I agree that one of the best options to the Conny is the snub fighter. When it is working it is amazing. Now I have wondered if they are going to give us any port or starboard hatches like on the Andromeda to be able to dock with a docking ring. I always liked those hatches and the versatility to enter through them during EVA...instead of only being able to enter through the cargo lift.
I agree, I am in my fifties, and Connies shape look like ships I saw in science fiction movies, whereas Origin ships just like like actual ocean liners or yachts.

Another great video Olli! On Altruciatoxin topic, I'm going with Al-Troo-Sha-Tox-In. So glad to hear they streamlined using the Connies snub fighter. So much better!
all of the older ships that haven't had the Gold Standard updates already, definitely NEED updates, but also keeping older versions with fixed mechanics... though with the older designs... like when they bring out the Zeus mk2, I really would love a release of the Mk1 Zeus too only the Andromeda, Aquila, Phoenix have a snub fighter, the Taurus actually has a shielded cargo bay at the rear where the snub would normally be, also the Taurus has 179SCU of cargo on an extended cargo lift those people who do that kill indiscriminately, I've had people who just appeared and blew up my ship but combat log to avoid a CS, as they alt-f4 so you cannot press charges
i kind of want a tier 1 medic version of the Connie, combined with a medic ursa! 😎 The connies are hunted, for real. the elevators will also grind to a stop. Only fix is to reclaim her. when you need crew, cargo haul, medic or body guard = Decan_Frost
It's exactly why I picked the Connie as my first ship (after the game package) a few years ago when I started playing SC. The thing is, it's been almost always broken since x)
I would like to see them keep the design language of the Mark four on the Andromeda and Taurus but change the design language of the Pheonix and Aquila to look more like a scaled down version of the Astrata design language. doing this would enable them to include the additional room for advanced scanning features on the Aquila and the Point defence system on the Pheonix. In addition it would balance the RSI ship range so their is an incremental rise in ship size reducing the gap between the connie size ships and the Galaxy. I realize of course that it is probably just hopium on my part, but i think it would make a lot of sense.
I love my Connie Taurus. I also don't mind the current interior for functionality. But the interior just doesn't fit together very well still. It totally needs an interior overhaul for sure. Too much room in the front cockpit section. I would bring the door wall forward towards the turret enclosure, and give more interior room in the mess area. Maybe even put in another wall on the otherside of the entry airlock to give the mess area its own sealed off area. Also, the Phoenix is a nice ship, but the front interior section needs to be overhauled to make it look more like a luxury ship, not just a regular Connie. Possibly turn the twin bunkbed sections into seperate bedrooms either side of the corridor. Also put in a central corridor and move the bar area to the other side. That is my take on it all.
Great video Ollie! I agree with you on the pirating stuff that happend, just doesnt make sense at all tbh it would be good if they could prevent something like this to happend but i dont think is possible. Take Care m8
I haven't played since November last year but back then if you wanted to target a sub system you had to do a full scan (holding V) first. I guess the thinking was your targeting system needs to know what the other ship had before it could select a specific component to attack.
Ollie, not 100% sure this is what happened when your snub's cockpit opened and wings folded up but this happens to me in my Gladius and sometimes in my Scorpious and I've figured out it is because when I go to third person in the ship and then back to first person I was hitting the F key instead of the F4 key to change camera views to get the first person view again. When I hit the F key the view changes but it also activates the open cockpit toggle since F is usually used to select the switches aka interaction mode. Once I stopped using the F key to get back in to first person view on those ships and just used F4 to change my camera views back and forth the cockpit opening stopped happening. Not one time in over a year have I had that problem again except when I forget and hit F. On most ships it doesn't matter because the button to open the cockpit isn't the default or near by button in first person view but on some ships it is and I'm guessing it is in the snub fighter too. Try it out sometime, only use F4 to change views in the snub and see if the problem goes away. I"m pulling out my Connie Phoenix today to test out the snub, it hasn't worked in ages for me so it will be a pleasure to fly it again. You're really entertaining dude, keep up the great work my man!
I agree about how they should have kept some of the classic ship designs as a vintage model , I would love to have the original 300I before it was reworked I thought it look great with the dule wing style doors.
I always miss the ship sales. I want this ship but its always sold out right away. Recent in game price increase as well. Would get the 600i but waiting for rework. Just want the Constellation Phoenix with the Nursa on it.
would like to see docking process while the pilot is flying the connie. like if you're in a hot zone and try arent trying to stay stationary but need to pick you up
They have been talking about a gold standard pass on the connies since they are some of the oldest ships in the game and they lack a LOT of the standard features ships made much later in development have, like lighting, door buttons ect. It definitely needs a lot of love.
haha actually Ollie, its still broken. I was wondering because I didn't see them fix it in the patch notes for 3.22a . The bug is that it won't allow you to redock UNLESS you go more than 30km from the constellation and at that point it acts like it was just respawned, The landing gear lowers, the wings go up and the canopy opens. Thats exactly what happened to you mid-fight. I suspect if u undock and then try to redock w/o flying away first it won't work :)
I would buy back my Andromeda in a heartbeat if they moved the front cockpit bars and gave back the size 5 guns. Its already an incredible ship, just needs a little tidying up
i think a rework would be great, the phoenix even looks a bit dated for a luxury ship compared to crusader design language, lighting , interaction etc.
I had the same problem with my mouse DPI (23:55) after using the tractor beam, only difference is I was tractoring salvage and my DPI got cranked instead of reduced
Hey I have a good strategy for locating my ship because I do the same thing before I start doing anything. I go and do a basic delivery mission and just get the package and leave it on my ship but never deliver it and just that mission and when I need to find my ship again I just track that mission, and it tells me exactly where my ship is works every time
MK5 will be required at some point. Pretty sure component access is not like newer ships. I do wish the Phoenix carried the white color to the snub garage and air lock. It feels so different in there than the rest of that ship. Works in an andromeda or aquila but in the phoenix, it needs more class.
I’d prefer a full gold pass on my Connie, but as long as it’s a free or free-adjacent upgrade I’d take it so long as the ship’s size and function don’t significantly change.
As an owner of the Andromeda, Taurus and Phoenix I hope they rework the mk4 and don't keep the old one. My reason being (excluding the phoenix) the dock ports on the side make little sense in many ways, are a little bit off the floor making a large step into a circle. The dock port up top also makes little sense unless you turn off the gravity. The elevator could use a drop-in replacement. Also every single space except the cockpit is prone to explosive decompression if the ports are damaged and experience mechanical failure. I feel like the design is very dated to be Christ Roberts favorite ship. I'm not saying the silhouette isn't cool and it does have many cool features, but much of the ship doesn't make much sense and is definitely not up to gold standard imho. Same goes for many original ships.
Over and over we see in Star Citizen that the best ships are the newest ones because they have more systems hooked up and they've learned from all the past work of the ship team. I think we'll get a Constellation rework close to release so that the marquee ship from the company that bears Chris Roberts's name is one of the best ships the game has
@28:50 lololol when it disappears. And yeah dude was a troll for sure. Real piracy is fun and engaging. It's some of the most complex gameplay and if you do it RIGHT then no one has to get hurt (so long as your mark doesn't start shooting lol),
Oli, new to your channel, and new to SS in general. I'm about to get a monster of a pc, so I'm definitely going to start getting involved with the game and the community. My question is this; I saw where you finally got your Javelin and I can't for the life of me find any videos of you doing a review or a tour of your personal Javelin. Does that exist? I've seen your video tour of the military vessel with blockades within the ship, but is there one of your personal version? Thanks in advance.
I really think they need to make another pass at the Phoenix's general interior as well... it doesn't really scream luxury. It's almost as if you took a child's idea of what a luxury spaceship would look like
I had the same cargo problem, with me it was the oposite.. I had a phantom 2 scu box which I couldnt remove from the ship.. everytime I purchased cargo, that cargo would clip over the box, so I'd still be able to get a full ship of cargo.. weird.. it went when i crashed my ship though so all good now.. I'm good at crashing my ship..
Did they ever fix this? - I always had issues with docking and undocking the snub. That and the forced gimbals were a huge deal breaker for me, since they are sorting the gimbal penalisation of a size down (just need unlocked to fixed now). I would run the Connies if the snub was fixed properly
I have a rogue container in a Vulture. It's visible, but I can't move it. It shows in the kiosks but can't be sold. I can't stack a box on top of it as it glitches through and starts doing...things. It's been like that for weeks Shruge
its so sad i had the taurus preordered for years before it released then when they finally implemented a working snub fighter like a month later the taurus released so I didn't get to use it anymore
@Olli43. Do you have a good way of finding your Constellation after flying your snub fighter out of target range? My docking process glitches every time i fly the snub, and I have to fly about 25km away from the Conny to reset the docking process. It's next to impossible to find it again if I don't know exactly where I flew from.
Olli do you play on American servers? I'm really almost positive i rolled up on the remains of the connie in your video lol. It's also possible I was accidentally on a EU server because my buddy I play with the most is from Finland. edit: After watching more I'm even more convinced lol. Was your second connie wreck near Shubin-SMD-1 on Daymar? We got stranded right by a wreck identical to that then had to walk a few KM to nearest outpost it was brutal (yes you can just re-log but that defeats the purpose of start citizen for anyone who's tempted to reply with that)
Okay to be fair, I do agree that pirating is better when there’s interaction and trying to extort money and such and really want to do it as a pirate myself but the game honestly doesn’t let you. Between players not noticing hailing during the panic, the game not letting you hail, comms not working even when hailing does and salty PvE players slapping alt+f4 as soon as they get attacked we often don’t have any choice but to shoot first ask questions later. The game in its current state isn’t very conducive to good pirating, that’s not to say griefers don’t exist but often the game forces our hand and a small amount of cargo is better than none at all especially if you don’t have a Quantum dampener. Not to mention often you get up to 50% of the original cargo just for blowing them up and if you have no real way to prevent the target from running away it’s better than nothing. Edit: also Brios is an illegal hotspot so people often go there just to pvp, it’s one of those “don’t wanna get burnt stay away from the fire” situations
I know the feeling where you just get shot down by griefers and then they say " its pirat gameplay" . For me Pirat gameplay is to get my cargo or money out of me then just killing , so i agree with you. Did pure pirat gameplay back in jumpgate and we only "pod" people ... stoping them and said " pay or die" was fun and we did truly play pirat rp not this we kill just people and call us pirats
I've had a full hercules at brios destroyed by an eclipse with a size 9 torp. The bellend was just flying in and out nuking everything. Pretty sad game loop.
I literally tried docking a snub ship a few days ago in atmosphere and it did not work. So the action is to hold down N? I kept getting a message about "waiting for docking permissions".
I've been randomly attacked several times in game, no looting, just random killing. Game bugged out so I couldn't even retaliate..., but just something that will always be an issue until more game systems are in and more consequences both for crimes and dying. Obviously the game could do with being more stable also, as it makes those encounters even more annoying than they need to be. Also you should get some subscribers to follow you around when making your videos. Act as bodyguards and help with looting! :)
Griefers and trolls suck. I had a guy kill me and take my S71 Ascension the first time I took my pledge gun out for a spin. He claimed to have used VOIP, but I didn't hear him cause I was too far away when he did.
We don’t need more ships yet, they are just selling ships to get money. They should be focusing on building the actual game and not just putting in a bunch of filler items (more and more and more ships). In my opinion.
As Squadren42 was Devloped nearly all system devs from Star Citizen where move to squadron, know they are comming back, be excited for the new updates. Other fact: They have to do Recovery layer and Server Meshing first, so the new system can go with it, but no one has ever done this before, so they have to invent this techniques, it this is costing time.
If there’s no “in-game” motivation to destroy someone other than just causing them grief. That is called “griefing”. There’s a chance he was clearing the area as an escort for a partner selling drugs but it is unlikely.
33:00 I saw a "pirate" on YT saying he does it "for the salt". He enjoys seeing people cry and complain in global chat. I guess there are always going to be miscreants.

I think this was a perfect example for grieving vs pirating
Anybody else think a slightly larger titan suit varient would be cool with this kind of mechanic?
I think Olli is going to need a crew to keep the gankers and trolls from getting their lulz.
I have a rogue container in a Vulture. It's visible, but I can't move it. It shows in the kiosks but can't be sold. I can't stack a box on top of it as it glitches through and starts doing...things. It's been like that for weeks Shruge
What is in the container?
Have you tried claiming the ship?
Comment below says he crashed his ship and it went away.
its so sad i had the taurus preordered for years before it released then when they finally implemented a working snub fighter like a month later the taurus released so I didn't get to use it anymore
@Olli43. Do you have a good way of finding your Constellation after flying your snub fighter out of target range? My docking process glitches every time i fly the snub, and I have to fly about 25km away from the Conny to reset the docking process. It's next to impossible to find it again if I don't know exactly where I flew from.
Get a delivery mission, you can track ships with the box
The Taurus works fine when loading the cargo but the Phoenix is a little broken.
Would be great to see a mk 5!
FYI: don't check your inventory while you're in the pilot chair
What kinda fuel use do you have leaving your ship hovering?
It's not Seraphim station, it Not Ollisar station.
It is seraphim station Ollisar doesn't exist anymore lol
Great Ship but the snub fighter is always bugged and it moves like a geriatric on his last day. Get the C2 if you can
I've had a full hercules at brios destroyed by an eclipse with a size 9 torp. The bellend was just flying in and out nuking everything. Pretty sad game loop.
How did you manage to make the docking work ? i tried EPTU and Live, was this on the PTU (3.21.1) ?
Friend of mine discovered to fly away from the Connie 10km and come back, and the docking should work.
@@festersmith8352 tried that, didn‘t work
I literally tried docking a snub ship a few days ago in atmosphere and it did not work. So the action is to hold down N? I kept getting a message about "waiting for docking permissions".
Take a delivery mission and use the box like a marker in these cases...
I used to love my Phoenix until I saw the original brochure for it. 😮💨
Unfortunately, tested tonight 02/20/2024 and it doesn't work. I love these vids and I kicked ass in the snub nose, but that sucked to have to eject
I really want a mark 5.
Phantom load on your ship and stubborn load on Taurus!!! Funny!!!
That was not a pirate, that was a Reaper. Pad ram-ers and kill you for no reason or just for the lols, people are called reapers.
I tried the docking this weekend in PU and it is still broken. Are you playing in PTU ?
I've tried the same thing here but, it kept asking permission for my merlin to dock.. 😢
MSR with a Fury = BOOM!
could you do a video on the ares starfighter?
Griefers and trolls suck. I had a guy kill me and take my S71 Ascension the first time I took my pledge gun out for a spin. He claimed to have used VOIP, but I didn't hear him cause I was too far away when he did.
"Selling yourself". I knew it!
They should've added an extra station instead of replacing the old one.
Hi! I have a problem with "Merlin" l can't attach it back to "Andromeda". Is there a secret key ?
docking the snub fighter works now? i tried doing it a few weeks ago and had no luck
Friend of discovered you have to fly at least 10km from the Connie and it should work.
You can leave the small ship back as a marker???
did your snub have some red on it at the first of the video. I think it's still haunted because it disappeared as you were taking off.
Mine doesn’t work. I can undock it but I can’t get it to dock again
If there’s no “in-game” motivation to destroy someone other than just causing them grief. That is called “griefing”.
There’s a chance he was clearing the area as an escort for a partner selling drugs but it is unlikely.
can't believe that I sat and watched him go 150km while he talks :) lol
There needs to be a medical version of the Connie.
Look up the Apollo
The elevators are what make the Connie garbage they break and your stuck
yeah you got to scan them first before you can alt-target their ship, kind of an annoying change.
33:00 I saw a "pirate" on YT saying he does it "for the salt". He enjoys seeing people cry and complain in global chat. I guess there are always going to be miscreants.
