  • Can you install the Phaetus Dragonfly on the Anet ET4? As mentioned in an earlier video about installing on the Creality Ender 3 Pro, I have mentioned that I wanted to install this on the Anet ET4. Much of the video I already recorded, after I found out that the nozzle was too far from the build plate.
    Because I can imagine that people want to try this, I edited the videos clips I shot and share them with you

    At one time manufacturers were telling us that the design of their throats reduced the heat creep, now they provide thermal paste that increases the movement of heat, am I correct in thinking this paste should not be used?

      Hey Andrew, indeed, great question. From the logical point of view, I would say, use it, because is it provided with the kit. The thermal paste makes the transfer of the heat optimal for better reading of the thermistor

    I just tried to install a micro swiss hot end on my et4 that was made for ender 3 but the problem is the ender 3 hot ends are roughly 8mm shorter than the stock et4. i simply made a offset plate to lower the shorter hot end that can be used for any ender 3 hotend. the fan still hits but i am currently printing the vulcan et4 cover and fan shroud from thingiverse that should do the trick. A direct or close to direct fit to the et4 is the cr10 pro/max. so if you are looking for new hot ends to replace these junk et4 stock ones, make sure it will fit the cr10PRO/Maxx. I just ordered one to see if it will be close enough fit without any modifications

      Indeed, the hotend is higher than the hotend from the Ender 3... I'm still thinking how to tackle all the issues at once, I have some ideas for it. btw I have designed a fan duct that should work... www.thingiverse.com/thing:4688607

      I just discovered that it is shorter too!. I wish I saw your comment before even buying it. Do you have any advice? I don't wanna put back the old hotend 😓😓😓

      @@JohnWayne99999a indeed, for that reason I have put this video on TH-cam... I wanted to install it on there, but too many adaptions that I needed to make. Maybe you can make a little adaptor so hotend is 8-10mm lower...

      @@Zachary3DPrints I was thinking about drilling a couple of new holes. The problem is that the x axis mount for the extruder has some slots (probably for heat dissipation)just below the existing holes 😓😓.. adding anything on top of the side with the mounting holes will change the position of the nozzle on the y axis and you definitely don't want that.

      @@JohnWayne99999a I just built an offset plate that was 4mm thick so a m3 nut could sit flush and the hot end could screw in 8mm lower and the plate bolts to the original holes.

    Hey man, I can't find your review of the hotend. If you wouldn't mind could you give me some thoughts and opinions about it. There is almost no information on this hotend anywhere, especially on TH-cam.

      @Zachary3DPrints  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm, yes. I never really got into the review itself, I'm sorry for missing out on that. I have it installed on the Ender 3 pro and it's working very great. Did you saw that video, how I installed the hotend on that one?
      I'm very happy with the hotend, it works great. During the installation you need to make sure that the thermistor is well seated into the little brass tube and seal it off with the grease that was provide with the kit. Especially of the price, you cannot complaint about this hotend. You have the BMO and the BMS version of it.

      @@Zachary3DPrints I got the hot end as a gift and there is zero reviews for the end. I'm wondering if it improves speed and print quality on ender or cr10 v3 or I might save it for the voron kit I might buy. You make good videos I find there's a air of elitist attitude amongst the "popular" influencers. Even when you are a patreon member they will not reply when asking a simple question. I've never experienced this with any other community on TH-cam. I'm into component level electronics and you can get the biggest names and people in the comments to help you without being rude. I've basically unsubscribed to most 3d channels all but a few. You and a couple others. What alot of the influencers say and what they do is a different thing. I was trying to start a non-profit makerspace and had a few simple questions since there are not any around here and I wanted to know gear to get but no body would help by answering a couple questions. The plan was cut short after a breaking to my workshop when about 15k worth of gear was either stolen or smashed. Insurance got out of coverage on a loop hole so here I am left with a few printers, a new pc I just built and my whole guitar collection from a life of collecting gone. I'm not poor but I can't replace everything overnight so I've focused on buying the stuff that pleases me like good test equipment and such. Anyway, sorry for rambling but I'm extremely jaded.

    Do I get it right? You could install it but it didn't work? Maybe with an adapter published on thingiverse it would be great... :) Without it is quite useless...

      True Markus, I know that several machines can have this hotend given by Phaetus. Since the Anet ET4 had a similar hotend, I wanted to install it on the Anet ET4. After doing a few mods, I run into the height problem. I know that there are many people that are very handy and can overcome this issue, but I can imagine that not everybody wants to do this. I took everything off and did the video for the Ender 3 Pro. Because someone asked if the installation was difficult or not, I decided to release the video, and see if someone can solve the last issue or want to try this modifications...
