Video shows that the engine was only washed not restored
God thanks 🙏🙏 !!! Finally a more serious comment than the video
Because it's such a good engine that it doesn't need to be repaired.
And sand blasted
@@tajfun9021 you cant tear apart and engine and not do the seals or barrens let alone head gaskets looked like they were cardboard
He is restoring it to better condition… no where in the title does it say rebuild or repair😂
Is it called restoration without replacing wear and tear parts such as bearing and oil seal?
No it's called cleaning
and he put the clutch pressure plate on the wrong way
@@venni3996 nah its the right way
@@sweguy3602 He did put it first the wrong way, but then fixed it and cut the part where he fixed it, out of the video.
Restoration: Fix EVERYTHING that came off of the object.
Rebuild: Fix everything by either fixing it or buying new parts.
This is not what I consider a restoration. This was a clean and paint job. No rebore & piston. You even reused the head haskets. It's prettier than before, but mechanically its unchanged.
I would hire you in my shop as a blaster and painter before I hired you as a mechanic.

facts bro,he couldve done full maintence on it but didnt even change the cylinderhead gasket🤣
Mechanically unchanged is an understatement.
Has only gotten worse. He even made a gasket for the 2 case half's, increasing play in the shafts even more.
My man used the wrong screwdriver for the cluch, and the head didn't even meet the cylinder. So, squish clearance would have been way too big.
Technically worsened for sure.
I could literally go on an on.

Too bad for all the work, but reinstalling old bearings and seals is not possible. That has nothing to do with restoration.
not to mention he didn’t oil anything when putting it back in the bike
The sand blasting, polishing and painting were nice, I would recommend doing that with your engine if you're tearing it apart fully anyway. The rest of the build however, I do not agree with and to everybody seeing this and never having done a rebuild like this before but considering doing one, I would not recommend at all doing what you see here. Reusing old seals and bearings after dousing them in brake cleaner and whatever leftovers remained in the crankcase is not at all sensible. I can only assume this build was done for someone who wanted to spend as little as possible or very little in general. When 'restoring' an engine like this certain aspects are of course a matter of personal taste, but replacing oil seals and bearings all around is no superfluous luxury. That piston was looking pretty rough too, and the cylinder wall will most likely have shown a similar wear pattern. I this particular case I would have done something about those as well. We didn't even see if you did maintenance on the carb or clutch. As I was watching I was wondering 'Why would he spray steel components with brake clean and not re-oil them immediately afterwards? That risks corrosion forming on them...' And would you look at that, all of the steel components got rust splotches on them at the point of assembly. Into the bargain, the crappy intake clamps and hose weren't even replaced. That stuff's like a few dollars or euros at your local hardware store, if you didn't have better ones already laying around.
Nice end result to look at, but pretty poor technical refurbishment.
Pic na sprzedaż
Yamaha DT50 is generally the name of the motorcycle that carries this engine whose reference is: AM6
AM6 Minarelli.
@@philippejoseph8604 Yes précisément 🇫🇷
Spot on, I own one
wich is a piece of shit of an engine
yes but from the clutch cover i can tel that this is from an early aprilia back when they had am6
Wow engine looks brand new inside! Amazing how well they’re sealed
No doubt why almost every brand with the same type of bikes uses the same engine
Its minarelli AM6
Nice vid, some remarks:
Just hoping you’ve replaced bearings and seals off camera🙈
But why are the gears and ALL other internals covered in flashrust?! Would certainly not feel comfortable putting it back together like that.
And why do you bother restoring wear items like the cilinder kit and airfilter?
Would certainly never re-use that cheesy old airfilter🫣
And lastly, you should always tighten the crankcase bolts manually, and more important: evenly!! Goes a long way in not destroying the bearings.
Not to mention how easily the crank slipped In definitely needs looking at
nice job! also i'd recommend when you tighten down the case bolts you distribute equal pressure, ive accidentally snapped a crankcase bc I didnt tighten the bolts down in a certain pattern.
If you think this is a nice job, you don’t undertand a lot of mechanics and restoration

I was simply trying to be nice

10 seconds in, I had to restart the video because I heard laughter and thought it was outside my window. Nonetheless, excellent work, as always!
This is not a good job. He just wash the engine.
engine is in awesome condition from inside
LOOKIN' GOOD, NICE WORK...
Thank you for the excellent video and bringing back pleasant memories. These were remarkably reliable modern tech liquid cooled 2 stroke with automatic oil injection . You could runt hem all day at 80km/hr and not have a worry. Thank you Yamaha.
its not a yamaha made engine but ist from motori minarelli from italia its an am6 engine
@@henkkaasjes9837 Thank you . I am Italian and spent much happy time on a Yamaha. Till this video that is one of the excellent features I never noticed.
beautiful but no more than kv without busting the piston, the old cylinder is also just washed, is that a bulkhead? and the star is the same shureken, it should already be in the scrap as well as the inlet pipe that rotted and it was just painted there it's time to make a new one.
Ficou como novo ! 👍🇧🇷
From a piece of crap to holy crap!!!
❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome job!!! Can’t wait to see Part 2!!!
I usually let my parts soak in the parts washer while I order new parts to (restore)!
Nice video. I wonder why the port on the carb next to the ports for pre heat water was plugged off with a screw? Is that supposed to be plugged as well?
Nice video! Small tip: If you bolt or clamp down the engine during disassembly, the video becomes more pleasant to watch.
In Austria we call it "purer Pfusch!" ig de clutch is wrong and is that paper tape as sealing?
He could at least have replaced the piston, given its condition I'm sure it is blocked
What product did you use for clean the paint?
Hey by the way I would not use that air filter because I have had experience with them before and they don’t filter sand or dirt they do flow good but the flow to good but good job it looks really good for what it was.
yea they let all the sand in through the spots where they missed to glue.
could have washed the engine on the outside first before disassembling it.
surface rust looks good on the gearbox
could you tell what foam this is to remove the rust?
That's a minarelli am6 engine. Not a "dt50 engine".
And i'm suprised that engine runs for 10 minutes after the treatment you gave it. Would've probably been better off just getting it started.
just painting and cleaning! replace seals and bearings??????
Precise restoration, congratulations 👌.
Thank you for the like 😀.
The am6 engine is a good engine... But for me RK6 for life!!
Am5/6 mineral right.? Have the same
I would highly recommend using muriatic acid to remove rust and corrosion
Muriatic acid eats away at aluminium, which this engine is made of.
Amazing
It's just a cosmetic restoration. He left old bearings, old filter, old beaten up piston etc. Very bad example of restoration, made just to make a nicely looking engine, not nicely working one. Shame.
@@HerryHero mungkin yg punya gak mau ganti bang, takut biayanya mahal.. 😂
how do we know if the engine works ? 😋
don't work, at all
Great restoration. That piece is a beautiful 😄😄
No bearing changes or hone ?
Am6 engine, easy to work on and very powerful with some performance parts such as 100cc 2fast 😈
can you add the name of the parts please in your next videos, i like the method, thanks
The engine is not build by yahama, it may come from a yahama but its built and provided by minarelli. (minarelli am6).
sealants,bearings ?
What's that liquid you clean the crankcases with at 6:00?
aluminum does not have this red rust, this is probably just water and dishwasher soap
Ahhh, I get it now. Reman only means washed and repainted. R&R: remove and repaint. Always wondered what that meant.
What years and country were these sold in?
can you restore 125cc Lifan ????
first start?
OMG the Oseal condition for head
And adjust gasket paper on case
this video reminded me something, do not judge on appearance
What product do you use for the oxid?
dishwasher soap
Ahhhyy, that really hurt in the mechanic part of my brain... 🤯
Does it work?
imagine doing an restoration and ending up with rustier internals than before. i would also tighten that cilinderhead a bit more, if youn want it to break, better do it good
The good Old am6 engine. My absolute favorite engine ever produced
what product do you use to clean the block?
i recommend gasoline or brake clean
👍💯
For your info engine is called minarelli AM6, Im running exact same engine and exact same condition as this and it doesnt need a restoration tbh
crankcase locator bushings?
❤❤❤❤
Isn't the carborator hose very crooked?
Result ??
Great job
head gasket go brrrrr, it will not last a day
Nice job
Pleased make a Honda CX 500 v 2 engine🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
nice job👍👍👍
C’est bon je suis énervé
Motor start???
No acgô ??
what to use to clean the engine? I mean this liquid
And he didnt start the engine 😓
someone buy this guy a jetwasher jeezuz christ
Where did you get the crank/middle gasket?
if you are working on an engine with few spare parts available on the market, gaskets can be made using "asbestos paper", just cut to desired shape
No. You can't.
The two half's MUST be installed with liquid gasket.
I don't think grease in oil bath is a good idea, also when you rebuild an engine the gaskets, some important bearings and this piston change is also a good idea.
😮👍🏼👍🏼
In Germany we say Pfusch 😂
Opening from the piston rings are facing to the exhaust. That won´t last long.
Porque no cambio los retenes y rodamientos
Esos aros de pistón ayer estaba andando
nice video but you didn't build the block correctly the head gasket is not reusable if in that state and the clutch lid wasn't put on in the correct direction. the way you blocked the flywheel by the crank is just wrong. the intake manifold is so old that you should not reuse it and you did not properly install the case
Restauration without replacing any part with new one
Only estetic restauration😂😂😂
Is he wearing the gloves wrong way round ?
The textured side is meant go on the palm side of your hand
That's a new engine with exterior dirt
Why not change worn parts?
