Haha im glad im not the only one that noticed the scoring on that piston, if your gunna put this much effort in then damn replace the tiny piston they cant cost much for that bike.
What blows me away beyond the restoration is that he’s not just restoring these things, but making sure camera angles are all good and edited correctly. Masterful work. Deserves more subs
I owned an actual DT50 back in the nineties, it sat outside in the rain and sun for years abandoned and looked a million times better than this bike. 😂
Not the creator answering but they used paste-like paint remover you find at any hardware store, and the front sprocket can be painted over with spraypaint, same thing with the steering bar
Dear Colleagues, this is an almost perfect reconstruction of this two-stroke motorcycle. Honestly, the piston looked pretty good. Maybe you should measure the compression pressure. I give it 9 out of 10 points. Congratulations and best regards 💖👋😀.
Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Team, Valentino Rossi, Cooper Webb, Fabio Quartararo, Alex Rins, Eli Tomac, Justin Cooper, Calvin Vlandereen, Andrea Locatelli, Remy Gardner, Jonathan Rea, Dominique Aegerter, Bradley Ray, and Philipp Ottl, will gonna love this.
I’ve heard a lot of these types of videoes are faked, meaning that the things are doctored to be broken beyond repair. Does that apply to these or is he really finding these things and repairing them?
Cool video, but why not replace the worn out parts while you are in there? That piston should have been relaced and the sprocket. It's one thing to make it look pretty, but why not make it WORK well too?
If it was your first bike then surely you can see that this bike is a cheap Chinese copy and DEFO not a Japanese bike. Swing arm is wrong, engine casings are wrong, tank did not have plastics, wheels are wrong........ I had the DT50, DT125, DTR 125, TZR125, RGV250.
Wasn’t running right with that 49mm bore kit on stock carb /crank / exhaust could here it struggling best of keeping the 40mm piston size or you could possibly go for a 47mm and re jet carb it might go better infact it will go better ive done 4-5 aprilias with same engine
A new piston & rings would have restored much power maybe a new air filter also.
Haha im glad im not the only one that noticed the scoring on that piston, if your gunna put this much effort in then damn replace the tiny piston they cant cost much for that bike.
@@Batman45025 THIS IS RATTLE-CAN RESTO FOR VIEWS AND COMMENTS NOT TO LAST.

Saved from the scrapyard and given new life. All that work paid off wonderfully
Unless this motorcycle had some personal meaning to you, I am not sure it's worth that amount of work.
@@theelephant2887 for an old yamaha dt its worth, they dont make dt 50s anymore
@@theelephant2887 more than 10000 views could be some sort of "personal meaning"?
I think so ...

17:43 that sprocket is finished, get a new one
What was in the glass to remove the fuel cap rust? Vinegar and salt?
step one, take a decent bike , sand all the paint off the steel parts set outside to rust claim total restoration
Rusty plastic and aluminium too... faked.
I owned an actual DT50 back in the nineties, it sat outside in the rain and sun for years abandoned and looked a million times better than this bike. 😂
In a full restauration using the same tires and painting the rims with the tires on it????!!!!Only me that think this is suspicious???!!!
Can never understand that there would be more grip in an ice cube
And the rear sprocket is completely done 🙃
Indeed, this is a respray... Cleaning the crap Chinese airfilter.. 😂
What a visual restoration..
This guy is a clown, using power tools to install bolts and not actually restoring anything just painting and cleaning
The tyres and the air filter. Are they the old ones my friend???
Jesus loves you,Jesus saves ✝=❤
And Jesus rides Yamaha?😂
Nice, my first bike was a DT50 back in the mid 80’s. Brought back some fun memories.
Old school ❤
You didn't even realize that the motorcycle stand was dangerously low, almost touching the ground.
what paint stripper did you use? and on open metals how do you keep from rusting like the gears and/or bar etc??
Not the creator answering but they used paste-like paint remover you find at any hardware store, and the front sprocket can be painted over with spraypaint, same thing with the steering bar
871k subscribers and you still didn't shout that old bike a new chain and sprocket set....smh

This is a derby or someting similar.. not a Yamaha dt for sure .. only the seat cover
dt50 look it up. It have a AM6 engine 2002>
Looks like Yamaha DT50 RSM (or dt50x) / Malaguti 50 XSM which are the same bike btw
The sproket is death😮😊
Damn man you should get a reward for this
Respect for an actual budget restoration.
Congrats from Brazil. 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Why go to all that trouble and leave the obviously worn out rear sprocket on? Not to mention the rusty pitted forks!
An amazing motorcycle restoration and a beautiful t-shirt at the end of the video👍
Gostei da camiseta! Saudações do Brasil!
You are a very good TH-camr.
Muito bom 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Nice!! 🎉 end the next! Maybe a Triumph 74??
Very good 👍
Bat i think ... this is a DERBY. Not a YAMAHA DT50🙂
its not derby its a minareli am6

what solution were you using for the rust and on radiator cap and bucket of bolts?
You can use white vinegar and baking soda. Let it sit overnight and/or 24hrs and you should be good.
Mantulll from.indonesia🤩🤩🤩
Thanks for hight quality vedio
what solution u used to dip clean those bolts and nuts?
Fantastics proficiat Top werk afgeleverd respect
Nice restoration. Owned a similar bike to this when I was young, but massively trimmed with an extra gear. Pretty fun

How come you replaced the cylinder after last video? Didn't just cleaning it work? And it doesn't seem to rev too well either

What rust remover did you use for the radiator cap?
What are you using to strip the paint off the metals?

ficou lindo, mas vamos ser sincero, restaurar aquela relação e o pinhão não dava né. Tinha que trocar! kkk
NIce one man, keep ot going with motorcycles!
Great job, watch that side stand though it looks a bit low.
It’s great work but my question is why the engine is tomuch clean form inside 😮no engine oil traces 😂
hi man, what have you added with salt in the glass to clear that part from rost
Very good job.❤

Não, ele é gringo
I see these around my town both new and old but i can't figure out which model year this is
Its a copy, nothing like any model DT50 ive ever seen
