You should be able to fit the old snorkel piece back on as well to keep feeding air to the ECU. Also hides the mess of cables underneath for a tidier look.
So what about that other pipe that's open? Is that also a intake as I've wanted to put a pod on mine but couldn't understand how that setup works. As there's a elbow from the throttle body to something,
@@CarGuyLife Thanks for the reply, so on most cars the air intake comes up , through a air filter box through the AFM and into the throttle body. With the Mazda 2 1.5 stock intake in looks as though the air filter is on top of the engine and where it goes into the throttle body there's a 90 degree elbow that goes up towards the air box, when you put the pod on yours it looks like that hole is left open. I was wondering what that pipe does and if it's ok to leave it open. I hope that makes sense
Hi you attached the link to the plastic joiner. I purchased the connector joiner but what I received didn't have the flat disc at the top of the black tube like in your video. It is the same joiner without the top flat disc. Can you advise what I can do or use instead please? Thank you...
You've also got a breather adapter 13-25mm. Which is it for me to order, a 13mm or a 25mm please? When ordering it asks an exact size and doesn't give an option for that range for in part.... 😊
Great guide thank you i think this will be my next addition to my mazda 2 you have made me want to do it love the sound it gives off after the change my mazda standard does not sound like that, i dont want the full exhast as it is to much but i like the grunt it gives off when your pushing it,
A friend of mine has been asking me to do this to his 2012 Mazda 2 1.5L. I have been looking at kits online, but for some reason there are only kit options for standard transmissions (which would be preferred anyway) but his is an Automatic Transmission. Any idea why these would not fit on an automatic transmission?

You must have potentially damaged something during install or not installed the maff sencor the correct way round its easy done if dont pay close attention
So you got rid of the pipe sucking air from ambient temperature and replaced it with a filter sucking air from the hot engine bay... And where is that a ram-air intake? Like the name suggests a ram-air intake gets the air pushed in by allowing the air flow to move into the intake through a relatively straight path. Kinda like the original intake btw. This has to be one of the most stupid conversions i have ever seen.
I did this modification long time ago i did it just to make the girlfriends car sound bit better thats all i understand and was aware of its draw backs before the installation 🤟

You gain any bhp or nothing noticeable anyway but it definitely sounds much better

You said 63mm in the video but the parts you put in description are 76mm was that a mistake on your end or the parts not right ??

That i am not to sure on my advice would be to measure the outer diameter of your throttle bodie

I can't see in any stretch of the imagination why this kit wouldn't fit a automatic model
to make sure you get the best out of the conversion you can change the air filter and the transmission as well. you have the hood open anyway 😁

Well hot air intake is good for mpg.. so that's a plus..
