The one thing the 3DS Boom games did right imo is the racing levels. They feel so much more fluid and fun compared to the Rivals games. Also the tunnel levels were good fun.
The worm tunnels were pretty fun
they were like gens 3ds special stages but no emeralds
QOTD: Sonic Boom I feel is the adaptation that finally made me appreciate the modern voice actors. Compare Rise of Lyric to Sonic Free Riders and the difference is night and day!

I would love for Sticks to appear in mainline Sonic games. Hell imagine if she teamed up with Mighty and Ray
She appeared in Runners and a comic that had stories of the main cast and her own Sonic Channel profile.

QOTD: If there's one thing that both 3DS games did consistently well, I'd say it's the music.
I mean Seaside Beach 1 from Shattered Crystal is actually an underrated bop, Robotic Facility 2 is awesome, Shadow Canyon 1 is badass, Worm Tunnel would fit in a Sonic Riders game, Gothic Castle from Fire and Ice is one of the best songs in Boom PERIOD, Fire and Ice also used the unused theme from Sonic The Fighters called Sunset Town at one point but I forgot the new name, etc.
Though Shattered Crystal is a bit of a mixed bag in that area too. They took some of the generic Wii U themes and put them in with the good themes. But when that ost is good, it's GOOD. I legitimately hope that one day, someone remakes the first two Boom games to make them actually GOOD. Maybe they could remake the Wii U ported themes and add boss fights.
Honestly the Boom games (Fire and Ice especially) got robbed. Imagine if Rise of Lyric didn't get crunched by SEGA or Nintendo. Imagine if Shartered (yes, that's intentional) Crystal was actually good. I'm willing to bet that the 3DS games would be the next Sonic Rush for people. While Rise of Lyric would've gotten Sonic out of his slump temporarily. If only...
Honestly, I could listen to this man, rewieve all sonic games, from genesis to shuffle.
Regardless of the quality of the Sonic Boom games, at least the cartoon was kind of funny... Also fire and ice was pretty good.

I love the new setup! I do miss the switch between live action and voice over though. It felt a little same-y only having the live action stuff.

I love the creative direction that went into Sonic Boom, the cutscenes in the game are so full of character, the only problem was the loor game got rushed.
Three good things about Sonic Boom:
1) The TV show is AWESOME! Seriously, the humor is top notch.
2) The comics are equally amazing. I swear that sometimes the comics are more meta than the show.
3) I love all of the characters, especially Team Sonic. They get along so well and you can tell the actors had a riot recording their lines.

You don't need to play Shattered Crystal, just play Fire and Ice.
I really like the new setup. The extra free space probably feels very nice.

I have a question, I'm not really sure if you already have, but are you ever gonna review the series, Sonic Boom?
QOTD: the game the at the end became Rise of Lyric wasn't initially meant to be part of Sonic Boom series, for a decent part of it's development cycle. And Shattered Crystal exists in the first place only because "c'mon, there must be 3DS version";they just quickly outsourced this problem to some other studio, though at first Sega asked it to be made by the same studio as the home console one - which actually was physically impossible in the conditions BRB was in, they barely had time to cram game that was being developed only for powerful PCs and unreleased-at-the-time PS4 and XBox1 into Wii U.
So basically it means that actually ALL of the content that was MEANT in the first place to be Sonic Boom content is actually good or at least not bad
They just had to give Knuckles steroids!
Made it to the end! Might actually try out Fire & Ice if I happen to spot it.
As for the QOTD: Sticks was a great addition to the cast! Hopefully she'll return in non-Boom games
Fire and Ice is also on the Eshop! I bought it on sale a while back, so that could be a good option too!

I got out of STH like 2 years ago and I still watch this channel.
I never played sonic boom fire and ice but I do feel like in some ways it redeemed the sonic boom series.
I played sonic boom shattered crystal (aka shattered anuss to me) along time ago, I like how the characters played differently but what I DIDN'T LIKE is that you were forced to complete it 95%. I think if you just played the stages with sonic you can go through them in 1 or 2 minutes but if you WANTED to explore you had to go through the stages for 20 min.
I was just like you. Got to the blockade, went through every level again to get items, didn't find any, closed the game and exchanged it at Cex.
"It's better than Rise of Lyric" is a compliment you can give anyone.

QOTD: Sonic Boom was literally a boom of ideas and "attempts to innovate gameplay" for a spinoff Sonic game.
I wish the franchise had started with the gameplay and ideas used in Fire and Ice.
BUT, I don't hate the spinoff, I really like Sonic Dash 2 and other things that involve the franchise, like, the TV show.

QOTD: I generally liked sticks a lot. She was definitely a funny and enjoyable character. I wish she appeared in the mainline sonic games, that would be amazing! Sticks being made a boom exclusive character (excluding those other spinoffs like Mario And Sonic At The Olympic Games, that had sticks one time.) was a waste of a great character.
QOTD: The characters were consistent (that means they were in a squad, and that's the protagonists, rather than "protagonists an hedgehog, then he gets joined by other people (plus the TV shows good)
The Sonic Boom TV show was pretty funny and cool.

QOTD: The TV show was incredibly enjoyable and funny and I’m sad it wasn’t continued after Season 2. The comedy works better here than in the main series and it was cool to see the new approach from 2010 onwards in an environment that actually fits it

Shattered crystal is sonic in mostly generic levels. If not for the occasional loop you could tell me these levels were from some obscure one off platformer and I wouldn't know the difference
I wonder what an alternate universe where we got Sonic Synergy for PS4 and Xbox One, instead of Sonic Boom on WiiU would be like.
When looking at all the concept art, it really shows how much passion BigRedButton really had for that game, and how Sega completely ruined all of it.

After playing shattered crystal, realising you needed around 90% of the collectables just to go up against the final boss of the game I wasn't looking forward to Fire and Ice. But I will say out of all of things to come out of the Boom series I appreciated the show. In my opinion Roger's voice for Sonic fit well with the show. As for Fire and Ice I may try it for myself.

What if Sticks is a local in sonic frontiers who helps sonic recover his memories? That would be interesting!
QOTD: Sonic synergy's concept phase, fire and ice and the fact sanazaru knows how to make a sequel.
Oh how people judge a book by it's cover and dismiss the fact this game is actually good. It's a shame too because it would a recent video i watched from the game apologist mentioned knuckles in a metroidvania and guess what? Sanzaru games could of made that, but because the game didn't sell well it couldn't happen. Also the new changes are nice, growing legs is great.

I just honestly have one complaint about the new format, and it's that you tend to cover up a lot of the screen which could make it pretty hard to tell what you're talking about if you ever need to refer to something and you're actually standing in the way of it, but that's just my take, maybe you've already noticed this in editing. Good video overall though, keep it up!
I think most of the time the footage is just there to fill up space, and when I'm directing to specific things i'm trying to stand on the sidelines but I can definitely work with that more.
I honestly kinda liked scattered crystals, never played rise of lyric (cuz i don't have a Wii U) tho
Something nice about Sonic Boom? This may be hard since I NEVER played any of the games.... here, let me get my list....
1. The tv show. I like the one called Lair on Lockdown. Definitely deserved a season 3.
2. Their outfits are...not bad. I kinda like Amy’s. Very stylish.
3. That one cutscene at the end of Shattered Crystal where Sticks says she finally understands teamwork. It makes me laugh.
4. Orbot and Cubot are fine. I like them.
5. Eggman’s kinda fun to watch.
6. SOME cutscenes from the games looked good.
7. ......I like the glowing enerbeams so sue me. What? I may never have played the games, but I did see potential in the enerbeams. They also glow so there’s that.
8. Sticks is fun to watch.
Gotta love it when a handheld title does better than the console version.

:( A portion of the shirt was the same color as the green screen, and it would've taken several hours to go frame-by-frame to fix it. In the future, we're gonna do better to pick shirts that won't get keyed out, sorry again!
