Suhanna De Silva if people have wavy hair they should follow people with wavy hair.... the comments asking for wavy content are dumb af🥴 similar to the fact that I wouldn’t go to a white girl’s makeup channel and ask how something looks on my darker skin.
MiVidaBellisima If someone *is a stylist who specializes in hair with texture (like Mell) then they’re going to know how to care for 2a - 4c hair. Diversifying your feed to see how techniques do or don’t work on a tighter pattern can help someone with a looser pattern figure out what will or won’t work for them.
I'm sorry, can we just mention how PRETTY Mel is for a sec? Is that weird? She's vivacious so beautifully curvy and just embraces how naturally pretty she is. AND SHE'S FRIGGN' FUNNY. Please don't stop being you, Miss Mel. You help me love myself.
Tiffany's hair texture is close to mine. Finally a fine haired, wavy babe getting the lowdown from a curly master! THANK YOU LOVELY LADIES, inside and out! More videos with Tiffany please, we need more representation of our hair type xoxo
Greetings Manes by Mell :). I am a 55 year old woman with grey hair. I wouldn’t even know what hair type I have, how wavy or curly or how much hair I have. For as long as I can remember, I have never liked my hair! No hairdresser or stylist has ever helped me understand my hair. When I think of all the years of struggle with my hair, which is real! The only thing I have managed to do right for years is a silk pillowcase but between getting bangs waaaay to short and styles unsuitable, its a frickin relief to find you. Why other hairdressers out there have not got hair types figures out is my bad luck and beyond belief! Thanks to you and your knowledge you share here, I finally like my hair and I am moving towards loving it! There is softness, curls and wave now on day three! Next purchase is a silk scarf. Thanks for all your sass but more importantly sharing your fine knowledge.
I just started my curly hair journey (about 3 weeks ago after binge watching your channel and remembering that my hair has some curl to it). Your channel has been very helpful. I'm not exactly a girly girl so I have very limited experience with makeup and hair care. Anyway, I do have an interesting situation that I though may cause complications with curly/wavy hair that I thought I would share for anyone out there with the same issue. I have sleep apnea, which means I have to sleep with a mask at night. The mask has straps that go around my head fairly tightly. I thought it would totally squish my hair when I put it up in a bonnet. It takes an extra minute to put the mask on, but I did find that I can shift the bonnet and hair to sit mostly at the top of my head. I can wear the c-pap mask and bonnet comfortably and it doesn't completely muck up my hair. The bonnet/beanie I got does have a cotton outer layer, which does have some grip to it. I'm getting another bonnet with a satin outer later to see if the slippery satin will cause my mask to shift at night.
Eeeeeee!!! I'm so excited!! As much as I want my hair to be curly, it's not. It's wavy! So time to accept it and freaking love my waves with all these tips you about to bring us!❤️❤️
LADIES WHO DOUBT, THIS WORKS!! I've been plopping my dry hair overnight for almost a year now, and it's the ONLY THING that works! I don't even need the pincurls!
I’m going to try this tonight! I never thought of pin curls at night to give direction to my pattern. I can’t wait to see how my hair looks in the morning! Thank you!
I was actually just thinking this morning how much I would need this video!! Thank u Mel, you're the bomb! Also, tell your cuz thanks for helping you out in wavy videos!!
We have the best cousins, always so willing and excited to share the wavy love with everyone on this videos! This one may be life changing for many! Can’t wait for you to see 😍
I'm finally taking care of my wavy hair so I can't wait to be able to do this! I tried so hard tonight but the scarf kept slipping off my head or it wouldn't hold all my hair. I just couldn't get it tied up... I'll keep trying, I'm sure it's possible but I'm starting to blame the shape of my head 🤣
Mel! Finding your channel saved my hair. Trying to heal my curls after straightening my hair since high school (I’m 31 now). Last year, went through a bunch of tutorials of other channels, and just had wavy, poofy, frizzy hair. Found your channel, did the sectioning, evenly applied product with the right products, got the deman brush, spray bottle, scarf, etc. starting to see some ringlets and less frizz! Woohoo!! 🥳🥳🥳 Excited to see how my hair will look , when the damaged pieces grow out.
I have wavy hair but lost my pattern due to having it up all the time along with damaging it with bleach and the absolute wrong products for my hair. Literally did your wavy hair routine the other day and oh my gosh, I saw my lion mane once more and almost cried. It didn’t last long because I had to put it up once more the day after (I’m in med school) but I got on Amazon asap and ordered more products for hydration, protection, and just general maintenance. I’m literally so grateful to have videos like this to help me along the way of getting my normal wavy texture back
my hair is already a bit wavy when I scrunch it up a bit and just let it air dry. i hope with the right hair routine and products i can bring them out way more and actually make them last longer. i have fine hair so i can’t use too much product or else i‘ll just weigh them down. thank you so much for ur videos!
Just started this wavy hair process last night. The results are amazing, thank you! Such a big difference compared to Curly Girl. I love brushing my hair, I don’t want a tangled mess. lol❤️
Oh good. I was so close to just hot gluing my bonnets to my head, and spending chingos of money on satin sheets ( am I the only one who finds themselves starting the night on a pillow, and ending up three feet away?)
Before splurging on a satin pillow case, look in your closet for a satin shirt. Button the satin shirt over the pillow * satin pillow case! I use a memory foam pillow so it's a smaller size than a standard size pillow so my shirt fit but worth a try. Nothing works on my hair overnight, anything I place in my hair or on my head ends up on the floor by morning. Weird thing is, I have zero recollection of waking and tossing my scrunchie, head scarf or my plop shirt during the night. And by the way, that Aussie Curl Refresh is no joke. It's like industrial strength glue if you don't use the lightest of hands. Experience speaking here..
This is EXACTLY what I need to be doing! I cut my hair too short and it's a battle everyday taming the bed head. You are a GENIUS! Love you Mel, and your seester!
This is a fantastic idea! Thank you :0) I have a-bit-lower-than-chin length hair and I worry about repeated use of heat. So, I tried your video and VOILA - success! I've been considering purchasing Flexi Rods but 1) now, I don't have to and 2) I realized, as I increased the size of my CPAP mask, that my mask would never fit over them! I have my mask to the maximum size just to get it over my large pin curls and scarf - but, it works. Last night, I got carried away and put in NINE pin curls...whoa - no waves but a mass of curls! Once again, THANKS and keep posting about shorter hair!
Thanks for showing a wavy texture!!! And I already use that Aussie refresh spray, and you recommending it makes me feel like I'm doing something right! You're the best, Mel
Been working on my curly hair journey and have absolutely enjoyed it! My hair is still fighting me at the top stay straight but curly in the bottom trying to make the curl go from my root wish me luck♥️
I'm very new to this world of taking care of my actual wavy/curly hair and really appreciate the wavy hair videos as much as the curly hair videos! I'm still trying to figure out if my hair is curly or wavy and so these different videos for different wave and curl hair textures are sooooooo freaking helpful!! Thanks Mel!
Tiffany's hair is soooo cute! That is sort of what my hair looked like when I started noticing my hair was curly a couple of years ago and I stopped straightening it. It is more curly, like a 2C with some 3A thrown in but I would have been happy if it had stayed more wavy. Mel, I just love your videos so much. I never thought of doing pin curls overnight.
Hi Mel i’ve had curly hair my whole life and I hated it I straighten Fried it chemically straightened it so then I finally just put it in braids in my hair fell out a lot since I found you I have been using my regular natural curly hair for about two weeks now you are such an inspiration to all of us curly girls who need help THANK YOU
Tiffany’s hair is adorable!!!! I love the focus on wavy hair. Thank you. Any advice on how to make fine curly hair more wavy as opposed to curly? I find many tips on defining curls but fewer on how to elongate them.
YOU keep on shining, lovely! In times of darkness, sometimes we need to be our own light. I am sorry to hear that you're having a rough time but so happy that i could bring some sunshine to your Tuesday, thank you so much for watching. We are hair for you
Thank you for this adorable tutorial. Could you please show in another your video how to adapt short hair cut for wavy hair And How then preseve the result in winter time espesualy when we obliged to put on hats that flattens the hair style
Super excited to learn some of these tips for my youngest daughter! She really loves mine and my oldest daughters curls and it would be so nice to have a little routine for her too! Thank you for BOMB content!! 🔥🔥🖤🖤
Yessss thank you for wavy hair videos!! Would love more on this. I *think* I may have 2b or 2c hair but I’m not finding other TH-camrs as helpful (or as funny!) as you that talk about wavy hair. 🙏🙏🙏
Hi Mell, I love your personality and I must admit I watch your videos because they make me feel good, more than for their content, because my hair type is different than yours. I have 2b/2c waves (high porosity, lots of hair), less curly than Amanda, but much more wavy than your cousins. Would it be possible to make a video for a routine for my hairtype? Thanks so much and continue being awesome, you have so much positive energy to share ❤
Hi Mell, any tips for getting through “transition” hair? Even though I’m following all of your tips, the top layer of my hair is drying straight while the under layers are clumping at 2b even 2c while wet but drying (even with gel and diffusing) as 2a 😰😰
I actually got a Denman d14 brush (the travel size) because I have a shorter layer on top. Mell mentioned it in the video where she was styling her boyfriend’s hair. Unfortunately, it is still on its way here. I am hoping it will get my hair to form some pattern on top. I do use the 9 row brush on my hair and it makes the most beautiful barrel type waves/curls. On the top I have a slight wave, but not much. It just falls flat. I hope the D14 works! Fingers crossed!
This is literally my exact problem too 😭 the hair on top (especially my front “bang” pieces) are SO STRAIGHT but the middle and bottom layers are 2b/2c. I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong 😭 my hair was 3a when I was younger, before bleach and heat tools. :/
I just love you Mel. You're an Angel from heaven. Such a beautiful person. Your kindness just radiates from your videos. Not to mention you're hilarious. You deserve the best.
My hair is just like your cousin's. Please keep inviting them to your channel and thank you for showing us to love and care for our curly or wavy hair because all hair types are beautiful!!
I have wavy hair as well and I have been waiting for this video from you for such a long time I am super duper excited for the tips and how I can apply them in my routine love you so much 🤗🤗💞💞
I'm new to all this, but I have to say, watching your videos has made all of this easier to understand and apply. I love how you explain things, and how clear you make it all. Thank you for making these videos.
Thank you thia seems waaay more suitable for my hair than the bonnet. My hair really does just mess around in there. The pin curl idea is genius too I know exactly which clumps in my hair are prone to straightening out
This was so helpful. I've been sleeping with a bonnet for months & while it does really help as far as tangles & frizz goes, I would lose my "curl" (wave pattern) over night. I just had a lot of choppy layers added to my hair to bring out its natural texture & reduce some of the weight since it's long & thick & I think using a scarf at night might be the missing piece in my current routine to get more out of my wash day styling & extend the life of my waves. Thank you!
I was on Amazon buying a denman brush. A reviewer wrote she saw this on manesbymel. I come here to see how you use it. 2 days and maaany videos later...i gotta get some sleep! You are addictive 😊 i was getting overwhelmed by the CGM tbh. I like how fun and educational all your videos are. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
Mell this entire video is why I had to retract my comment on your latest poll. My honest inital reaction to the poll options were those topics seemed like videos we had already seen. But this reaction was wrong because I briefly forgot what makes your videos so special: 🌟When we thought we have seen it all u always add innovate or rejuvante techniques like the pincurls and the slunchit. 🌟Your attention to details by customizing techniques to specific needs. Always finding a way to endorse embracing every unique and diverse hair type as with the careful consideration of the placement of Tiffany's hair at the back 🌟And your honesty. Shared throughout the video and magnified and amplified in bloopies. Displays a genuine integrity in you. Mell u know I could go on and on with this list because Mell u truly do make your videos very special. And I just want to take this moment to say thank you so so much I saw a comment in the live chat saying something like the Guido family is amazing. And it is so true. A massive thank you to Amanda Amber Tiffany Lucas Mell's broother Mell's mom and papa and everyone behind the scenes for all u do to make these works of art possible. Thank you for supporting Mell. And I hope and pray God continues to bless you all.
I’m almost a year into my wavy hair journey (next month is 1 year) and I can’t believe I barely saw this now 😭 I could have gotten a satin headscarf 5 months ago lol
I'm thrilled that I found your channel about a week ago. Though I'm probably older than your mom, I've learned so much about ways to maximize my 2b-2c wavy hair. I so appreciate your advice on care, styling, and products. I need your help to figure out this night scarf tie method though. I've watched the video several times from when Tiffany lays her head on the table to when you tie a knot, and I have failed 7 times in a row. It is stressing me out. Each time, something different is slipping or sliding out of place, and clumps of hair fall out, the silk loosens, the sides are too uneven to knot properly - it is a MESS. If you can spare 5 minutes to clarify how you can keep the scarf tight at the back while gathering both slides (when doing it by yourself without help), keep the hair inside, and then stand up and prep for tying the knot without it slipping apart, I'd be grateful.
this video was extremely helpful. although my hair is a bit more wavy than her hair, and looks better when styled like curly hair, it's very similar when it comes to preserving it overnight. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
hey mell! i love that you’re adding more wavy hair cause that’s exactly how mine is! i was wondering if you could do a video of how they styled their own hair? cause her hair looks so good!
Thank you so much for this! I have short 2c hair and when I use a bonnet, the sides are fine but the back always ends up flat. I'll definitely try pin-curling that area.
Very helpful. My hair looks like someone used my head for a wet mop every night. When I get up, it’s ridiculous, in a bonnet, on a silk pillowcase. I’m going to try this.
thank you! I adore you and your channel and I super appreciate you doing tutorials and guides for wavy hair, too! my hair is 2A/2B so this was very helpful 🧡
I have really long hair down past my waste. Really struggling keep my curls from getting ruined over night and keep good definition. Always love your tips and hacks❤
Thank you so much for all the help! Been watching for a while and although I have wavy hair your channel has been very helpful and of course entertaining! ❤️
Love this! I have 3b curls and the same bonnet as Mell...it NEVER stays on all night. Scarf or silk pillowcase is much better. Looks nicer too :) thanks for the tutorial!
Yay, perfect timing! I'm starting to be more curl than wave as my hair bounces back from years of straightening, but pineapple-ing doesn't do the trick and I just can't sleep in a bonnet (I blame my stupid big head). Will be trying this trick as soon as my newly ordered scarf arrives!
Liked the video before watching because this is what I have been LOOKING FOR!!!! I have type 2c/3a hair which gets weighed down easily by Lot of products and I always have a ton of halo frizz that drives me crazy! I have been looking for a refresh like this which I am hoping will help me :)
I'm the same! Have u ever tried argan oil for the frizz? I just found it and its amazing! Not oily at all! (And I cant put anything in my hair without it looking oily!)
@@cathismith2624 yes u rub between your hands first and just smooth it on where the frizz is, i add it to my dry ends too! I use HASK argan oil. Smells amazing and its cheep!
Omg I need this!!!! I have to refresh my waves in the shower by using water and conditioner on my ends and then I have to style it again afterwards.. every single day because even when I use a bonnet my long waves/curls (2b) get kinky and weird or it gets laid on my scalp weirdly.. 😩😩
I'm 25. My hair was always frizzy and had awkward shapeless big waves. I never knew what to do with my hair until I watched your videos yesterday! I went to ulta today and got my products. I just couldn't find the frizz cream so I'm gonna order it from amazon. Otherwise my hair looked so much better!!
I finally think I found the solution for me because when I use the bonnet I always wake up without it 😂🙈 Thank you Mel, I love so much all your content and it has helped me a lot to understand my hair, I am still learning every day with every one of your videos ❤️
Girl I know right! ! Wake up randomly at two am and it’s almost completely off my head, if I sleep thru the night I literally have to search for it the next day 😩😂
Love seeing some more wavy content! I’ve just ditched frying my hair, so I’ve got damaged 2a/2b right now. My hair is thick so I’ve had an undercut for about 2 years. To get my full curl(wave) pattern should I grow the undercut out?
Ooooooooooo I gotta try this Bc I have a silk sleeping cap but my hair is still always tangled when I wake up and I couldn’t figure out why. This makes so much sense!!!
I have discovered a "Slap" sleeping cap works GREAT on my short wavy hair. It has a satin lining, but didn't let my hair float around like a bonnet does. Funnily enough, an ad for the Slap came on halfway through this video. 😁
Your cousins have a looser pattern than me but I appreciate the wavy content more than you know Mell
You're here ❤️
I love your videos ❤️

She adressed all of my concerns as a wavy hair girl. Thank you.
Hi Mell, any tips for getting through “transition” hair? Even though I’m following all of your tips, the top layer of my hair is drying straight while the under layers are clumping at 2b even 2c while wet but drying (even with gel and diffusing) as 2a 😰😰
Sameeeeee
Try mousses and light creams. (Very little product)
Fingers crossed!
yesssss, me too!! why?????
I struggle to find info on how to look after loose waves so I really appreciate this
I have wavy hair as well and I have been waiting for this video from you for such a long time I am super duper excited for the tips and how I can apply them in my routine
love you so much 🤗🤗💞💞
I'm new to all this, but I have to say, watching your videos has made all of this easier to understand and apply. I love how you explain things, and how clear you make it all. Thank you for making these videos.
Love Texture Tuesdays!!! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO MORE WAVY HAIR ROUTINES.
Thank you!
Mell's channel is the most fun, happy place to be
I was on Amazon buying a denman brush.
This is my favorite 😍 look that your cousin has!! That length and color is amazing on her!
THANK YOUUUU I HAD NO CLUE HOW TO REFRESH!! But now that I found you I know how to refresh!!
Mell this entire video is why I had to retract my comment on your latest poll. My honest inital reaction to the poll options were those topics seemed like videos we had already seen. But this reaction was wrong because I briefly forgot what makes your videos so special:
🌟When we thought we have seen it all u always add innovate or rejuvante techniques like the pincurls and the slunchit.
🌟Your attention to details by customizing techniques to specific needs. Always finding a way to endorse embracing every unique and diverse hair type as with the careful consideration of the placement of Tiffany's hair at the back
🌟And your honesty. Shared throughout the video and magnified and amplified in bloopies. Displays a genuine integrity in you.
Mell u know I could go on and on with this list because Mell u truly do make your videos very special. And I just want to take this moment to say thank you so so much
I saw a comment in the live chat saying something like the Guido family is amazing. And it is so true. A massive thank you to Amanda Amber Tiffany Lucas Mell's broother Mell's mom and papa and everyone behind the scenes for all u do to make these works of art possible. Thank you for supporting Mell. And I hope and pray God continues to bless you all.
I needed this last night as I was so confused trying to protect my hair in a satin scarf.
This is so helpful Mel! I have wavy hair and was wondering why sleeping in a bonnet just made my hair worse ahahaha.
Literally looks like how hairdressers hear style most straight haired girls hair
Curly hair here but I watch everything by the Guido Seesters!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
thank you for doing it for her but also having her do the process👍🏾👍🏾
My 2A/B hair and I thank you. I respect the curl and the straight, but I need help with my wavy!
Thank you so much for this! I have short 2c hair and when I use a bonnet, the sides are fine but the back always ends up flat. I'll definitely try pin-curling that area.
I have 2b-2c hair & I have used the same bonnet as you for a while now. I already know this is gonna be a GAME CHANGER ! Thank you ❤️
Love the wavy hair videos pls keep doing more!!!!
I love your channel. I’ve learned so much from you. I’m going to try my own cut/refresh.
Thanks for the info. My combo waves/curls thank you. Your the only professional on here that I thoroughly trust.
Love it!!! I have similar(ish) hair to Tiff, that was fabulous. Thank you Mel and Amanda!! 😍😍🤩
Very helpful. My hair looks like someone used my head for a wet mop every night. When I get up, it’s ridiculous, in a bonnet, on a silk pillowcase. I’m going to try this.
Girl, I LOVE your energy! I've been binge watching your videos the whole day haha 🙈
MEL - you are changing my life!! Thank you for your informative, fun, practical videos. Loads of love
Loving your wavy hair videos! I’m a wavy, looking forward to this one. I struggle with refreshing.
Thank you so much for all the help! Been watching for a while and although I have wavy hair your channel has been very helpful and of course entertaining! ❤️
Thank you for some wavy girl love! Alot of people hate on me for rocking my wavy to curly 2a-3a hair 💇
Recently got a scarf! I'm super excited to see if it helps my curls more than my bonnet. Thank you Mell!
You ladies are so funny! Thanks for the tips, Mell! I'm a wavy girl and have trouble refreshing the next day! I am going to try this out!
@@laydeebug8095 Do you mean oil that you put on your hands first? My hair is the same, and halo frizz drives me crazy!!
@@cathismith2624 yes u rub between your hands first and just smooth it on where the frizz is, i add it to my dry ends too! I use HASK argan oil. Smells amazing and its cheep!
Ugh thank youuuuu for this 💙💙💙💙. I hated waking up, i lost my wonderful hair and had to just put it in a bun.
Omg I need this!!!! I have to refresh my waves in the shower by using water and conditioner on my ends and then I have to style it again afterwards.. every single day because even when I use a bonnet my long waves/curls (2b) get kinky and weird or it gets laid on my scalp weirdly.. 😩😩
Finally here for your premier ! I’m always at work so I have to wait till then so excited 😆😆💜💕💜💕💜💕💜💕
This was definitely helpful. I have a head full of curls and when I worked on wavy hair, I did not like the results. Definitely am going to try this!
I'm 25. My hair was always frizzy and had awkward shapeless big waves. I never knew what to do with my hair until I watched your videos yesterday! I went to ulta today and got my products. I just couldn't find the frizz cream so I'm gonna order it from amazon. Otherwise my hair looked so much better!!
Exact same here😜.
I finally think I found the solution for me because when I use the bonnet I always wake up without it 😂🙈 Thank you Mel, I love so much all your content and it has helped me a lot to understand my hair, I am still learning every day with every one of your videos ❤️
I am so incredibly happy to hear that!! I always try to share new tips and hope this one really helps you! Thank you so much for watching ❤️❤️
I’m glad I found you 😂 I’m pretty sure I some loose waves and I’m excited to see what my hair will look like once I do a curly hair routine 💕
