    I actually appreciate that you're not totally made up on all your videos. For me at least, it makes you more relatable. I just discovered your channel a couple weeks ago and have learned so much already! I think we have the same type of hair. Mine is 2b&c. I have thick hair and lots of it, except this past year, I've lost a ton of hair because of my Graves Disease, but other than that, I'm pretty much Cousin It from Adam's Family. Lol.

      I sometimes have this problem too (curl patterns on wavy hair can be so inconsistent 😜) I don’t know what your hair texture is but mine is very fine and sometimes I find that just wetting it down with a spray bottle of water and re-scrunching works

    • @shorouqabdelhaleem4419
      @shorouqabdelhaleem4419 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Ashley Elizabeth my texture is mostly wavy. And I have from fine to medium hair. Refreshing with water spray always ends up with a lot of frizz:(

      I hope it works for you, I know the feeling! You can also try it without the brush and just wet and detangle with your fingers ❤️

      Me too. I like the idea of the wet brush to get your hair damp but not super wet. I stopped pineapple ing my hair at night to try to get better day 2 and 3's so am excited to try this simpler morning method. Thanks!

    I love your hair! My hair never looked like this when it was short but you make me want to chop it off and try again! One tip though- stop saying ‘if that makes sense’! You DO make sense! It’s a thing I’ve noticed (mostly) women do and it’s along the same lines as apologizing for things you don’t need to be sorry for. I’m sure it’ll phase out as you make more and more content and become more confident, but don’t second guess yourself! You know what you’re saying, you’re super articulate and explain things well, so no reason to second guess yourself. :)

    I love this new technique! I've been giving up on refreshing my 2a/b, but your idea of brushing first for wavy hair is genius. I'm going to try it soon.

  • @sara2382
    @sara2382 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This is really similar to what I do! I also brush my hair out, but I do it first, with a tangle teaser, then I put water in my hair praying hands style until it's good and damp, almost until you can hear it squish, but not quite. Then I take a foam, something super light weight, and glaze and scrunch it in, air dry, and sotc with a light weight oil. It's great to see someone else who does something so similar, and your hair looks amazing!

    Watching these kinds of videos makes me feel I'm not alone with this kind of hair. I always rebond my hair and when the roots of my hair start to get curl I get frustrated. But I realized I need to embrace my curls. During this quarantine, I notice that my curls got definition (but the rebond straight still at the half bottom part of my hair) and I super loved how it looked. Now, I search videos on how to keep naturally wavy hair and starts to cut the rebonded hair. Thank you so much for sharing these information.

    hello!!!! i’ve come back to this vid to say i have tried this a few times to test it and it works GREAT! i have never seen this method before, and i love it because all other morning refreshers make my hair FRIZZY as hell because i have thin stranded type 2 hair and it needs some combing. i thought this wouldn’t work because it would brush out the curls to be gone, but adding the product back on and letting it air dry, then scrunching it and shaking it out is so good. lovely lovely lovely thank you so much tabitha

    Great result!✨ And personally, I love when content creators don't always wear make up. It's nice to see someone's natural face. 💗 I stopped wearing makeup years ago. • @carolannf

    I’m a fine wavy following CGM, who rarely refreshes because the results are so poor. I find my hair has to be really wet to absorb product and I can’t seem to get it wet enough when refreshing so end up with a lot of webbing and dry hair. Just not worth the effort. I watched the video and thought no way could I get my hair wet enough with a wet brush but may as well give it a go. Well, I can’t believe the results, just amazing! The beauty of the brush is you can get to all the layers of the hair, not missing any out. I got my hair very damp I’d say, not dripping then I applied some leave in and used a styling lotion that normally doesn’t work for me (didn’t see the point in trying too hard as so sure it wouldn’t work 😊) . I squished both products in with water so by the time I’d finished my hair was dripping a bit. I let it air dry, took about 4 hours, removed the little bit of crunch I got with some oil on my hands. To say I was pleased with the result is an understatement! Best thing is the refresh has lasted another 2 days (May have lasted longer but it’s a week now since I washed. Normally the refresh lasts only the day of, the next day it’s a complete mess). Can’t believe this has worked so well. Thank you so much for sharing! 💐

    Our hair texture is similar so it's so nice to see these videos and get a different take at how to refresh wavy hair without having to follow every curly girl rule. I really love your haircut too, it's really cute!. I'm considering getting mine chopped a bit to help with my hair health. Do you pineapple your hair at night? Do you find it all is able to go up? That was the thing I hated the most about shoulder-length hair was I had to use so many bobbies.

    Love this video. We have the exact same hair and cut and I have the same problem days 2-5 ISH before I wash my hair. Even after washing I find I get frizz, but I'm yet to find a product which properly hydrates and defines without being sticky.

  • @lucygoosie7726

    I will definitely be trying this for my day 3 hair. My hair looks exactly like your starting hair today, but it’s day 4 and it’s wash day, so I’m not going to try this today. Thankfully my day 2 hair usually looks good (sometimes better than day 1) without much effort, but day 3 is just an unruly mess of weird kinks and half straight.
    My big problem is that my hair is wavy on top and straight underneath so when I part it at the side, it’s wavy on one side and almost straight at the other (but middle parts look bad on me, I have the same haircut as you). My son has the opposite hair, it’s straight on top and curly (3a) underneath (my hair is 2a for the most part and 2c around my face)

  • @cj-ch9zx

    not for everyone but brushing your hair consistently can actually be really good for it! if u feel like u struggle w oily scalp and dry ends, brushing w a boar bristle brush will help distribute those oils (and a mixed nylon boar bristle brush is really good for dual purpose, and its good to stimulate ur scalp!!) brushing can also help u need to wash less often!
    u can either brush before u wash or before u refresh if u wanna avoid the Frizz, but i also personally sometimes love brushing my hair out and looking crazy anyway cuz i wanna look like i came straight from an 80s band lol

    I'm mixed white and Asian, and I grew up mostly with my mom, who is my Asian half. She had no idea how to handle curly hair so she ended up straightening it out and not taking care of it. Really liked your video. I'll just let my refresh routine here in case anyone for some reason is interested. I have 2a-2b-2c hair so i would say this works best for wavy hair.
    My hair tends to get stringy after day one so i brush it out (yes, dry, pls dont hate me) with a wetbrush which makes it smoother and more voluminous.
    Then I flip my head upside down and get it damp to wet with a spray bottle. At this point i dont touch it, just gently flip it to get it wet everywhere.
    I start scrunching my hair with no product in, then i add products by gently glazing over my hair and scrunching( except for gel which i just scrunch, don't glaze). I keep scrunching some more and then airdry or diffuse, whichever you preffere

The best products I have found (EVER) are Jessicurl. I can wear my hair 3 days without refreshing most of the time & can even get some ringlets on day 1. I'm going to try this method. Adding products in and not washing, does it ever smell or feel like the hair is heavy? When I wore my hair straight I could go days without washing but since I've been curly I always feel like I gotta wash everything out.

      Maybe you're using too much product? I usually don't really feel anything on my hair. I refresh with just water though.

      Sometimes my hair feels like this on my wash day or the day before (depending what I used) but I don’t find that my hair feels heavy when I refresh it like this with a lighter styler! Dry shampoo also helps my hair to feel lighter.. hope it works out for you!!

      When I wore my hair straight, I had to use heat products that gave my hair some dry damage (and I had to use these products every morning) and I think that’s the reason I could wear it for longer without it getting heavy or oily. Now I’ve learned to not use heavy products for my waves and I keep product away from my roots. It’s helped a lot

      Mmm it could be a number of things, maybe try refreshing with a leave in conditioner and gel? And then scrunching with an oil at the end when it’s dry 💗

    I can’t brush my hair out like that otherwise the curl will be gone for sure and it’ll be way worse. I skip that step and use a spray bottle. Everybody’s hair is different I guess!
    Also I’ve tried to use that shea moisture hair lotion but unfortunately didn’t like the strong smell 😕

    You know, I think your hair has some 3a,3b potential. Have you tried finger coiling? I have 2c,3a hair. I started finger coiling weekly about 6 months ago, and I now have 3a,3b consistent curls. It's time consuming but it really does work. It took me almost 2 hours the first few times, but now, 30 minutes max because my curls know exactly the way they want to go now. You should try it. (Your hair is beautiful the way it is, so only if you want tighter curls). 😊

    You are breaking your hair by brushing with plastic brush. You should follow the cgm.

    • @matthias8122

      I think super curly hair is kind more prone to breaking with a brush.
