@@Td5Adventures I just got the bad news today.. I had a pressure in the cooling system with my td5 and took the head off and to the "head shop".. Head was tested and it's cracked somewhere between valves... The many joys of owning a land rover :)
Cool, thanks for the tips, but i'm a bit curious about the spacers on the wheels (stress on bearings no/ok/yes/other). Your Defender is looking really good!
Thanks!! I'm not too bothered about it, many people drive their Defenders with spacers or offset tyres and bearings are both cheap and easy to replace so I'm not concerned about it 😊
Out of curiosity, can you run a magnet over the old copper washers. I've seen them (on Britannica Restorations you tube channel) be steel washers coated in copper. If the are they wouldn't have sealed properly. Hopefully the new ones were proper copper. Fingers crossed you have it fixed this time, always interesting videos 👍🏻🏴
I'll try that out!! I'll take the old ones out the trash and when the genuine ones come then we can test the other britpart ones too 😉 Although it isn't the washers that seal between diesel and oil, that is the rubber seal's job!
@@Td5Adventures ideal, what do you think happened? Did a seal twist or get cut/nicked. I've not had to do it (yet) on my TD5 but that's why I'm interested. As I said another interesting video 👍🏻🙂
@@MrNineCherries I'm not sure. There's lots of comments on different forums that the britpart seals might be smaller/thinner than genuine ones, so I'm interested in comparing those soon! Otherwise it might be a leaking injector for some other reason or even a cracked head..
I sincerely hope it's the seals and not a crack in the head.. All the best and thanks for the videos.
I hope so too, thanks!!😊

@@hrz4x4 oh no.... that really sucks man :( hope it won't be too expensive to fix!!
@@Td5Adventures It's probably going to be a new AMC head, as they have fixed most of the common td5 problems there.
Long reach Alan key does the same job for removing the injectors just done mine yesterday running like a dream now.
Awesome!😁

@@Td5Adventures well fingers crossed it's sorted. The truck is looking great. Looking forward to seeing the roof rack back on.
@@MrNineCherries yeah, fingers crossed!
Thanks! Will be nice to see all lights work👌🏻
