Hey Baptiste. Hi again. I see the fever has already attacked you. Good. You've done a great job, it seems. But i'll say something negative if you permit me. It's the one and only thing in wich I don't agree. I've never found a reason that justifies the use of those allen head screws in any exposed part of any vehicle. Once they touch the ground 2 times they'll be destroyed. I'm sure there's nut in the other side so you can take it out anyway. But I think I would try stringer ones. The rest is perfect. Well done
Hey Baptiste. How's things? I hope everything is going well. I've seen there's nuts in the other side. That's perfect. What I meant before in my comment, and that's of course a personal opinion, is that the proper allen type screws(not the use of screw-nut wich is perfect) are not good enough in that place in my opinion. The reason is that the head of these type of screw, being more beautiful and classy than other screws, is weak, mostly when they're small ones(2,3,4 or even 5 mm allen tool) and gets destroyed by touching hard surfaces like stones. So they go really hard to unscrew once their socket is not perfect. I've been fighting with these situations for years because I have to use them due to factory rules. And that's a lost war. They always become, sooner or later, a waste of time to take them out when you need to. That one was the reason of my comment. I hope you're not angry with me. I'm just trying to help because you show the same passion I've got for this car(wich I have as well) and offroading. Cheers mate. Take care.
Hey, of course I'm not angry with you ! I really appreciate your comment, because I did not think about that fact ! But if one day I need to take them out, I will simply drill them out I think :) Stay tuned, I've many videos of the car off roading, just need to edit them.. Cheers mate
Hi again. I've just seen the video again. And yes. I keep my opinion about those small allen screws in the front protector. But I must say I gave you a "negative" opinion about something and a reason. But I didn't say any alternative or different option. And that's the easy way(giving a negative opinion but not alternative or personal prefered solution). I don't like the easy way. So I'M SORRY ABOUT THAT. A possible way of making it easier would be, in my opinion, trying to protect them by using some kind of spacer big enough to surround the head of the screw so if the car touches a stone, it will be the spacer and not the screw(so the screw will be always perfect and the tool will always fit in the socket). Another option could be trying to cover the heads finding a kind of spacer-threaded cap like the ones used in furniture assembly, but in the proper materials. Or just different kind of screws easier to unscrew even if they are damaged(using big plyers, a hammer and a screwdriver or whatever when they're so damaged that you must find extreme ways to take them out). Just some options to deserve the right of being critical, if you premit me. I'm sorry again for using the easy way in the beginning. And thanks for answering. Cheers mate. Take care. David
Hey mate. My last comment was supposed to go before your last answer. So get it as going before the answer. Perfect about the rest. I'll stay tunned for more videos. Your place is pretty similar to mine. So I understand your joy offroading there. Cheers mate.
Great video and upgrade job too, but....... lack the biggest and cheapest upgrade in Disco TD5...... the Center Dif Lock. And it`s so easy to do that!!!
Transsmission If the car already have the lockable diff you can use an u joint wrench and pratice an hole on the dash and on the tunnel. landroverforums.com/forum/discovery-ii-18/cdl-kit-discussion-%5Bcenter-locking-differential%5D-59305/
Great video! That's one nice looking disco you've got there. Just a couple of things, would you mind letting me know where you bought the Eibach and Bilstein suspension setup from? I can't seem to find anywhere that sell them. Also, would you be able to tell me why/how they didn't fit very well? Others have highly recommended the brands to me and so I thought I'd ask someone with experience. It'd be great if you could get back to me. Thanks!
Bilsteins shocks were the same stock shocks lenght, and because the Disco is lifted of 40mm rear and 35mm front, they did not fit a lifted car for offroad. You can find them on Paddock. Eibach springs (you find them at Allmakes4x4) were way too hard for my use, I had a very bad wheel control and a very bad axle twist. My new front springs "OME (+25kg)" are perfect for the setup of the car. And Very happy of the Bilstein shocks too. My father's P38 is on Eibach/Bilstein, it's so bad next to my OME/Bilstein setup. I don't know if it's because of Eibach or Bilstein. Or maybe just a bad choice of spring hardness.. I Hope I helped you :)
Transsmission Thanks for the reply! That's helped alot. I think a medium duty setup is what I'd like to aim for, like the setup you seem to have. Looks like OME is the one to buy.
Aw man awesome video again my td5 is still giving me issues dam auto gearboxes pretty much same as yours you should look into an ecu extension for terrifirma if your offroading in water
Hi mate, slightly off topic. Can't message you any other way, hope you can help me. Hi mate, I have the exact same problem with my ford transit as in your video. What was the cause in your case? Much appreciated
In French it's called "manomètre de pression turbo". You will need that Alive boost box to tune it, or the disco will automatically get into "default mode"
Baptiste Pitois bonjour, j’aimerai bien faire ca sur mon disco 2 2004 BA. Vs etes ou svp.? How much it costs approx. im currently located in Morocco and would love to drive and tune my car that way pls :) thanks for the great video
sweet ride and some nice editing there !! I'm also thinking of putting a straight pipe on my Disco td5 and want to ask you how much louder does it get inside the car during normal driving.
hi there, great video. was curious if you had to make any modification to the body in order to fit that size tire 235/85r16? aside from installing the lift kit, did you have to cut the wheel arches? also are your rims the standard 16 x 8 inch rims? I had read in some places that 235 may be too narrow for the 8 in wide rim.

Hi there,First I must say that loed your videos. I want to ask for an advice. I have a defender 110 but ı want to sell it and buy disco 2. But the problem is I can't decide wheter to buy a manual transmission or auto. what are the pros and cons ? Any advice will be helpfull. Thanks in advance
+kemal erkol Hello - just done that, 110 Td5 to D2 Td5. I stuck with manual transmission because the manual is more fuel efficient - without some changes to the torque converter, there's an idea that the stock Td5 torque converter isn't best suited to the engine/vehicle weight. Also it's a little less to go wrong and if it does go wrong, it's easier to fix. There's an argument for autos if you're off-roading as there's no loss of drive when you change gear, but the Td5/ZF auto does automatically drop engine power when the autobox shifts to smooth out the changes.
@@AndrewCleland1972 I know answering old question.. I have owned both, the manual was fine but offroad was hopeless due to the traction control, on the auto the traction control is awesome.. That is the only difference I noticed between the two.. I was always a manual guy, hated the thought of an auto.. The second disco 2 auto is the only auto I have ever owned in like 20 cars.. and I love it, especially for long drives 10+ hours..
Storm Tuning, who also do ECU upgrades for the TD5 have done flow tests and reckon the stock filter breathes better than K&N filter and recommend their customers stick with the stock filter.
You never disappoint, great videos!! Just wished they would import the LR diesels here to the US. Still haven't figured that one out.
