    Seen a great tip - a Britpart TH-cam video with Fuzz Townshend: when putting the FPR back in place, put an elastic band around the three bolts to hold them in place; once they are done up a little just pull and break or cut the elastic band!

    Whoa. I just did this job on my disco (in -14 C) and it was a lot more painful than this. Seems the defender has just a bit more room. Good tip on reaching that lower bolt from under the manifold, that probably saved me an hour of fiddling. I couldn't get it off, I got it loose but my hands are too big to be able to turn it between the manifold crushing my arm and the pipe that goes behind the engine in the way of my knuckles. Took me something like six hours total, most of it fiddling with that damn bolt.

      Yeah the job is a lot tighter on a Disco!! Done a few of those as well..
      Good job! Hope this video helped somehow!

    I am going to attempt this on my Disco next week and I would be silly to think I could finish this on my carpark outside in an hour. I'm guessing this will take me around 4-5 hours. All part of the fun though, great video thanks 👍

    Very good step by step repair video. I just ordered some parts for the Range Rover and waiting for the e-mail how much is the customs duty. Hope it's not to expensive :-D
    Nice to see how you bring the Defender back to life :-D
    18:38 every's DIY mechanics problem, drop the 10mm socket in the engine bay, thankfully it's enough space so it will fall to the ground :-D

    Hello sir thx for the information.
    I have a issue on my puma ( no start) some time it starts but just some hours. In my diagnosis, there is no the 5v signal on the high pressure sensor. Is the ECU problem?

    Vraagje: bij 5:40 zie ik dat je slangklemmen hebt op de rubber slang die gaat van de brandstofdrukregelaar naar de brandstofrails aan voorkant van de cylinderkop. Oorspronkelijk is die slang med geperste kraagjes vastgezet aan de twee stukjes pijp aan weerszijden. Bleef dat goed zitten met slangklemmen alleen? Ik vraag het omdat ik die slang wil vervangen en het is vreselijk krap om de wartelmoer aan de voorkant bij de cylinderkop los te krijgen. Met slangklemmen op die slang zou het een stuk eenvoudiger zijn om bij behoefte in de toekomst die slang weer te vervangen.

    • @Td5Adventures
      @Td5Adventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hej! Ja dat klopt, het werkt prima en maakt het verplaatsen van de slangen veel makkelijker.

    Your videos are great! As far as the diesel fuel cooler goes (I have the shell/tube style exactly like yours), I was able to remove one fuel hose - the one where you slide back the rubber protection sleeve and then press in the single plastic tab and pull the line off. However, the other fuel line (where it connects to the top of the cylindrical fuel cooler) has a black plastic cage over it (collet) - just can't seem to work out how to get it off (pushing forward / pulling back - won't move)! Worried that if I break it I can't get a new hose - new hoses only only come with a new FPR - can't buy them separately. Wonder if I should get the little fuel line connector tool? Any suggestions?

    • @intestinalworm1202
      @intestinalworm1202 ปีที่แล้ว

      Got it off!! All in one piece - nothing broken! Few sprays of brake cleaner using the little straw to remove grit/dirt, then later a few sprays of penetrant; put an open-end spanner behind the collet and pushed whilst pulling the fuel hose - it came off!

    Do any of these seals stop fuel getting into the oil?
    Ive had new injectors in but fuel is still getting in the oil

    • @Td5Adventures
      @Td5Adventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, the fuel pressure regulator has nothing to do with the engine oil, luckily.
      But unfortunately for you your injector seals might be bad still, I've heard many stories of people who have had to change them multiple times. If the seals aren't the problem then your head might be cracked. I have videos on that too so please check them out 😉

    you have to tighten the three bolts at 25 nm otherwise the small edge on the iron seal will be flattened and is no longer closed and do not use sealant everything must be clean and dry also the holes of the bolts otherwise they will vibrate lose

    • @Td5Adventures
      @Td5Adventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's clever! I've had no problems using sealant either 😉

    The td5 system is 15P for me, and the diesel regulator is 10P for me. What is the solution, given that we do not have available spare parts in Asia?

  • @matt3403

    Can you tell me/us why you carried this out, what were the symptoms/problem?

    • @Td5Adventures
      @Td5Adventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The fuel pressure regulator is prone to leak. The most obvious symptom is diesel fuel leaking from the right rear of the engine when the engine is running. It can be a slow drip but it can also drip quite a lot.

    What symptoms do you get when the regulator is going or has gone bad?

    • @Td5Adventures
      @Td5Adventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      The most common one is you'll have diesel leaking down the rear right side of the engine. It can be a slight leak or even a drip/spray.
