- "Majulah Singapura" is the national anthem of Singapore. Originally composed by Zubir Said in 1958, the anthem has been arranged in several other versions, including this regal version by prominent Singapore composer, the late Iskandar Mirza Ismail (1956 - 2014), who was himself a student of Zubir Said.

to achieve happiness
(May) our noble aspiration (make)
Singapore successful!
Come, let us unite
With a new spirit
(Together) we all proclaim:
Onward Singapore!
Onward Singapore! - เพลง
I love this arrangement.. The string parts... So sublime!!! Well done SSO.... BTW... The late Iskandar Ismail is my mom's cousin. Such a talented person. You will be missed!!
this is hands down the best version ever. starts off with simple, somewhat deceiving harmony, and goes on into a full on epic reharmonization in the chorus. gonna transcribe it now (probably gonna reharm a bit) iskandar you genius you're my hero
He is a genius.
Sometimes I heard the national anthem of Singapore when I visited from South Korea to Singapore. This orchestra version is so impressive to me. Thank you.

This rendition is so beautiful!
Man this is music I’m crying 😭
Geez I want to sing like her
I will give Singapore some respect
Love this version.
Love this version. Much better than the new version.
Goosebumps. An incredible arrangement and performance. Congratulations
Wow this amazed me. I play the flute for one year and I'm 13 when I'm abit older I wish I can join the sso it would be an honour to join the sso if I could
I like this version and also for the opening Ceremony SEAG 2015
Wow that is Joanna Dong
*goosebumps*
Gives me a vibe that a singaporean type of utopia exists.
Excellent performance
I really love this anthem
Look like Japanese ENKA music. I.like the national anthem.
Oh Singapore, such an ideal personality as a nation. Salam hangat dari Indonesia
kan lagu majulah singapura ciptaan zubir said ciptaan orang indonesia, zubir said ciptakan lagu ni buat tanda terima kasihnya tpi zubir said tak sangka lagunya malah jadi lagu nasional singapura, bahkan zubir said kelahiran bukit tinggi tu sampai jadi pahlawan nasional singapura
@@regilkurniawan4854 Nope, Zubir said bukan orang Indonesia. Dia org Minang
@@ahmadridwan4629 wtf
Saya bangga kenapa?karena lagu ini diciptakan oleh seorang musisi asal 🇮🇩 tepat dari tanah minang sumatera barat province
Almost forgot to watch this today
The lead vocalist doesn't have a powerful belting voice for the anthem. Her breathing is all over the place too. She could have ended it well, but she lost resonance on the last note. Otherwise, it's one of the best renditions I've heard.
Will the be our new national anthem?
no, but i mean, it *should* - obviously not this recording in particular, but this arrangement
@@phenylmusic nah. national anthem should sound grand. this one sounds like so sad
Shuqri Shaifuddin grand is one thing, interesting and colorful harmony is another
this one maybe isnt as grand as the official recording but it's a reharmonization and according to the laws of music reharmonization always makes things better
Apakah warga Singapura skrg mengerti arti lagu nya atw hanya sekedar hafal pelafazannya saja. Krna mengingat bhasa sehari hari Singapura skrg adlh inggris
generasi dulu blh faham BM yg skrg habuk pun takde
ini singapura
Sounds the same to me..
Somebody Why you bother hallo idiot ah..
this has been totally reharmonized (changed chords) and sounds absolutely beautiful now. you will notice it when compared to the og version
Singing was terrible.

Weak voice for a powerful song
Totally agree. She couldn't carry the anthem at all. Such a pity because this arrangement was quite good.
NOT AUTHENTIC !
Using indonesian language
It's Bahasa Melayu in Singapura
Lbh tepat Beliau disebut org Minang.
@@Thomas_Tyrell ngelawak kah? Nama Hindia Belanda ya Indonesia begoklu ,Hindia Belanda masuk world cup tahun 1930 an sekarang nama itu diganti Indonesia, FIFA yang menyatakan kalau Indonesia pernah masuk world cup masih dengan nama Hindia Belanda
Weak singer. Music powerful.
