@Argonaut _V make sure your endurance is at 40 then wear both the ring of favor and protection and havels ring. That should be enough but if not I would reccomend using a different shield because I think I remember the knights shield weighing 5. The heater shield or the kite shields sold by andre should offer similar stability and protection to the knights shield while weighing much less.

All of that combined for this one weapon makes it one of the most brainless weapons of the game; Just spam 2h R1 and you'll stunlock the enemy to death, and it's specially broken in PvP, as you're basically dead as soon as you get your poise broken. As for the Elite Knight armor, it's one of the best medium armor in the game, acquired early in the game, allowing for decent poise and defense while still being light enough to fast-roll with only the Ring of Favor and Protection, leaving one ring slot open to swap when needed. All of that means that the combination of this armor and weapon is one of - if not the most overused build in the entire game. Back when I played a lot with Invasions, if I went to an active multiplayer area, chances were that I'd find this exact build more often than not.

Nothing more then a mindless hollow, like the very ones you slain in the Undead Burg. God i love Dark Souls.
I never have actually fought him like this, usually just parry stunlock him, and so seeing him fought this way, I've only just made the realization Gwyn is just a braindead r1 spammer.

Yeah but the chosen undead at THEIR prime could also strike back just as hard if not HARDER, in game we only ever reach a fraction of our true potential, we still have hundreds of levels worth of growth to achieve, and all the time in the world to achieve it. Logans Soul Spear alone was said to rival gwyns very own lightning, now imagine the Chosen Undead pulling a Sir Gideon and rolling up with every school of magic ever known. It would be a curb stomp.

I remember my first time beating him. It was just this summer actually. I had seen others parry him to death easily. I thought it was gonna be an easy fight. I was wrong. And I’m glad I was wrong. Jesus dude. Souls games are intense. I’ve already beaten Elden Ring before Dark souls. I’m currently playing bloodborne. After that I have Dark souls 2 and 3 and sekiro.
Not to be douchebag or anything but how does one have trouble with Gwyn? Even without spamming parry’s the fight’s kinda a let down in terms of difficulty but it’s kinda nice seeing what Gwyn has been reduced to and it’s like putting down something that has lived for too long and is ready for rest.

When this was the only Dark Souls, this fight had some real weight. Now, after so much time and growth, Gwyn is trivial at best. Crazy how accustomed we are to Miyazaki's twisted torture scheme.
