When you were talking about the pictures on your stairway wall, I felt the need to tell you about one of our family pictures. It was taken on a Sunday, so most of the family was there (my grandparents had 9 children), and a traveling photographer stopped by. Before everyone could get in place, the hogs got out of their enclosure, and Grandpa Vass chased them down to put them back into the pen. While doing so, he fell into the mud, and got his Sunday suit all muddy. Well, the photographer wouldn't wait for him to change clothes, so Grandpa sat down on one of the chairs, and grabbed one of his grand-daughters to sit on his lap and cover the mud. It worked, and everyone got a big laugh on Grandpa that day. This was around 1912.

My cousin was one of those traveling photographer. They brought ponies and all the kids would get pony pictures! They would bring a little cowboy outfit for the kids to wear.

Me too! I was 4-5 yrs old when the man came by my grandparents and I sure didn’t want get on that strange horse! This was 1954-55 but then I wanted keep the outfit!! Memories, bitter sweet❣️
May I suggest, you put some light blocking sheers behind your lovely vintage drapes, to protect them from inevitable sun rot. I see the window they adorn are full strong uv rays beaming through. I've bought those types of sheers at Bed Bath & Beyond.
Have you seen ESCAPE TO THE CHATEAU? Its so good, she has found some amazing wallpapers, you'd like it...and her!

Love how you get excited about your packaging. Ten years ago when I opened my Etsy Shop, I did a lot of research, ( buying vintage from different web sites , which was Fun, but I honed in on the packaging) my purchased treasures were wrapped in trash bags and stuffing, 😳, I was shocked 😳.
So I decided to wrap my sold items in vintage fabric and ribbons. We only have one chance to make a first impression. Great minds .......

My mother had pale yellow French provencial furniture with purple violet and green glass wear and sticthings and small Victorian couch and hand made quilt with large hand stitched Violet's absoulutly beautiful!

if you were wanting to keep your hydrangeas, what my mother in law used to do, she worked in a florist shop and I guess they used to do it with dried arrangements, you can spray them with hairspray and they won't shed. I did it with pampas grass when it was "bursting" out! and they never did shed! loved the vid! thanks so much for sharing! one of my favorite channels! xoxo

Spray dried Hydrangeas with hair Spray to stop dropping of petals. ❤ I love picking them for fall and winter arrangements!

I love your wind chime. I have one that is that same size. I just love the sound in the summer when I'm sitting in my egg chair/swing and the birds are singing and there is a gentle breeze moving the chimes about. It is like a bit of heaven. :)
I just love you and your beautiful home. I don't garden as I don't have a green thumb but currently have the decorating bug for Spring/Easter. Your flowers will look beautiful and I love the patio cushions-what a deal! What about a pretty floral wallpaper for the current guest room? I love the bathroom so far. I have similar girly, angel,vintage taste like yours, so love your decor! Faux flowers sure have come a long way. Your roses fooled me. I currently have a bouquet of faux lilacs in an old white ironstone pitcher and they look so real. Such a nice mix of content in this video. TFS.
I love old photos- I picked one up at an antique store of a family outside their homestead. I love it because I feel like I am peering into their life as they pose with their puppy , cat and even some turkeys!
It's so fun to imagine the story and who they were....
We still have snow here in Ontario but I'm looking forward to getting all my gardens ready for spring

The salon I go to uses individual wash cloths in the powder room (no tub ) so after one washes their hands they dry with wash cloth and dump in wicker basket. One person one wash cloth. I don't like a bunch of people using same towel to dry. Pretty powder room Selena.

Love the blue ceiling on your porch...It is a Southern thing to keep the spirits and ghosts away at night. When I had a home in Yachats on the Oregon Coast, I had a big porch facing the ocean with a blue ceiling.
Haint blue is what they call it where I am from. It was usually painted around windows and doorframes. 🙂

I worked in a craft store during college and we had silk floral arranging as part of our services. You are so right in gently arching your stems to achieve a natural look. I love those roses. I have never seen silks in TJ Maxx but I will be on the lookout now that I have seen those.

I would advise you to pick a neutral color wallpaper. That way you can change your bedspread etc when you get tired of the colors.
Sage green looks so nice with soft pink. I did a bedroom in green and soft lilac for a showroom some years ago and I loved how it turned out. I'm currently having a settee covered in tone on tone stripe. Take a look at Lord Twig wallpaper. They may have something that could work. Also Bradbury and Bradbury wallpapers. They are a little pricey, but sometimes it's worth the splurge! I love the paper in your bathroom. Can't wait to see it all!
I'm really looking forward to decorating once we figure out the full plan for the rooms. Pink and green is so welcoming and timeless. I love the combo!

Heres a handy hint for weights for curtains, in the older days it used to be chunks of lead ,but you can glue a group of coins together instead then sew a little bag around them and when sewing the lining hems you can sew these in at same time. X
I wouldn't have anything built in,too permanent! I would go with the French style and source some amoire's?I would say watch The Chateau Diaries for inspiration,Stephanie has such beautiful bedrooms!!
I love that you let your hair go gray naturally. It is lovely, and you never have to go in for root touchups (think of the $$ saved!). I’m looking forward to seeing your bathroom completed. When we remodeled our current house (it took 10 months, and we did it ourselves before we moved in), I would sit in a completed room and just enjoy. Then I would move to a different part of the room for a fresh perspective, and just enjoy 😁.

I love hydranga flowers also and used to dry them for arrangements from my yard. You can buy a floral varnish spray to preserve them and stop shedding. I love your videos, your decorating taste is something we have in common. Just love and wait to see whats next!
